I took my 1-owner, low mileage, 1983 Toyota to this shop for an engine overhaul. (Grandma let it sit over a year w/o running it.)The car is in amazing condition except for a little rust and dried internal seals due to lack of use. I bought the car from my friend's grandma who bought it new in 1983. It only had 68K miles on it when I bought it a year or so ago and everything except the cruise control works fine. Advance Auto Repair kept the car 9 weeks. Twice, they called me saying the car was ready when it was nowhere near being drivable. Since the overhaul, the engine has a significant vibration and it runs hot. Since the car was returned to me, my air conditioning and radio no longer work, the outside r/v mirror is now shattered, there are greasy footprints in the carpet, and for some reason, they removed my glovebox and did not reinstall it properly. They also did work that was not necessary in an attempt to solve the vibration issue. I am having to resort to litigation against Advance Auto Repair.
