I had been going to see Dr. Akamatsu for around 4 years prior to now. She is a very kind and practical doctor. Her office staff is EXTREMELY rude - I had been committed to making the drive to her office even though I have moved from Woodstock to Alpharetta but as of yesterday I have a new doctor and their staff is definitely kinder and more personable. Super disappointed.

Dr. Akamatsu is a nice lady and competent doctor. Not sure of her name, but black lady nurse is great. Ramella is a DISASTER. Rude, uncaring and incompetent are the best way to describe Ramella and you will have to deal with her on scheduling or refills. Also, Akamatsu has a small office that has no other eservices like x-ray or lab, so you will be sent somewhere else for about everything except the basics. Akamatsu is not affiliated with any hospital. Office hours also seem short. I would never recommend this doctor's office.

I have been seeing Dr. Akamatsu for a few years now. I find the visits very comfortable and comforting. I like her nurse and the front desk clerk very much and find them to be very personable and courteous. We always chat and laugh. The doctor herself is a quiet lady but is not one of those doctors with one hand on the doorknob. She sits and listens and then tells you what she thinks. I have experienced long wait times, but I believe that is because she is not in a rush to get out of your room and into another, so I am willing to wait. If you want good care given in a calm atmosphere, I recommend this doctor.

We've been going here for years only because of her location and convenience. The Dr. is very quiet and very professional, but not much in the way of personality. However, she seems adequately educated and refers when unsure. Her nurse, Ramel, can be curt and seem bothered by you. Her other female staff member,(not sure her name)isn't much better. I called to schedule an appointment for my husband and she actually asked me, "why does he need to see the Dr., is he having a problem?" DUH! The medical assistant (black girl) is very nice and personable. Bottom line, the location is great as it's in a residential area. No fighting nasty Atlanta traffic to go downtown and deal with parking fees...but chances are you'd have a better experience. I guess it depends on your priorities. Fortunately, we're healthy and only need minor medical attention for the occasional cold and flu and annual checkups.

Two members of the family have been served by Dr Akamatsu for the last three years. The staff knows us by name. We have never waited long after arriving at the office and the visits with the doctor are predictably short and to the point. Always able to get a same day appointment when hit with a sudden problem. Results of lab tests are mailed within a week with comments or a call is made if there is a problem.

She was ok. Her assistant is somewhat rude and terse and unbeknownst to me this was an actual physical instead of a getting to know you visit as I'd requested so I had to get undressed, which I was uncomfortable doing, this being a new doctor and all. The wait was fairly long as well, but the Dr. herself was ok, she doesn't make much eye contact or conversation.
