Akron Family Institute was recommend- ed to me, but I'm a little surprized and disappointed that after two proper written authorizing requests I have been denied the release of copies of initial intake papers that I SIGNED, which I would hope would help resolve a payment dispute I have w/ this facility (i don't have insurance). The front office staff tells me there should be no problem acquiring such SIGNED papers, and yet the psychologist just rubber stamps my release requests as DENIED, with no helpful explanation either time is offered as the basis for the denial. I never was denied requests at other places like Family Solu-tions, Greenleaf Family Center, or at Catholic Social Services (in fact these folks have been quite gracious and accomodating with me). So I hope A.F.I. will work with me. Naturally I am frustrated. $500 is the amount in dispute. My calls are not answered by the the individual mentioned or his superior. They seemed like nice folks. But I guess in this Recession people like me are worried about get- ting their money. I thought I had a right to my own records, especially anything I signed. I hope we can re- solve this maturely and amicably. I am concerned about not harming the reputation of anyone. This comment is meant to serve as a prod, not a put down. Be Well. 3 sons' Dad.
