Alamo

it is a no brainer. your first stop ever in san antonio has to be the alamo. there is so much history and significance there that you have to visit it at least once in life. you cant help but to be in awe in a place like that.do not expect to park in a blocks' distance from the alamo. parking can be a hassle in downtown in general since the streets are so narrow. so be prepared to park and walk. and also visit the vistor's center right across the street from the alamo. they have valuable coupons and maps and great information that will help you get around town.

I have made the trip many times, learning more each time. I just returned from taking my two boys for there first time to see one of the birthplaces of texas freedom. I highly recommend a trip to The Alamo, were some amazing bravery took place on both sides of those walls. You cant help but feel the sheer weight of what they faced for 13 days inside that compound. By the most conservative accounts they were out number 10 to 1.

This place is a must if you ever visit San Antonio, Texas. The name pretty much speaks for itself. If you have the time, I would recommend listening to the speaker who talks a little about the history of the place by the signature book. You...
