Been with AWS a year and a half. In that time they've only picked up our Recycling THREE TIMES and I had to call to even get them to pick it up! We were assured that they would come take care of it and every time we've waited patiently. I now have a lovely storage shed out back THAT IS FULL OF RECYCLING WE WERE PAYING THEM TO PICK UP! Once we disconnected their service they were all to happy to promptly pick up their bins. At least one bin of recycling got taken out. DO NOT waste your time these guys are horrible.

Called today for a refund. If you don't hound them, they won't pick up your trash, end of story. Don't use them if you actually need your trash picked up. If you don't mind your curb looking like the local landfill, then they're a great way to waste money.

Signed a 3 year contract for my business that has an auto-renewal clause for 3 years. The only time you can cancel the contract is if you are within 60 days of the end of your term. If you don't cancel within this window, Allied Waste charges a termination fee that amounts to almost $1000 for my business. My business has hundreds of accounts. . I can't spend my time focusing on page 5 mouse-type to protect myself against stuff like this. This is predatory behavior and they know it. The representatives are completely unsympathetic and customer service rivals other monopoly government categories such as: DMV, Post Office, and the IRS. It is a terrible feeling as a consumer knowing that they have you bound in a contract (for years) that makes it very difficult to leave and the company can give you atrocious service with no recourse.

They make it feel like I'm not doing my job if I don't call them when my garbage doesn't get picked up when it's supposed to (happens often). I do not check my bins every day but do get a surprise when Thursday rolls around and I can't fit any more bags into the bin. Although I should know that they haven't come around... I mean the bins aren't thrown around in the middle of the road.

When BFI was bought by AW, service went into the landfill. I sometimes have something that will not fit into their rolling can and they will never pick it up. They drop stuff on the ground and just leave it. If you call to complain you are put on long hold and then maybe at some point you might have the pleasure of talking to some rude person who says that they will "come back just this time" but it is not their normal custom to pick up anything that is not in their can. BFI had no problem with it. They also had the nerve to call me at home to complain that they had not recieved payment even before it was due! They go up on fees each quarter but the service continues to go down hill. My best advise is stay away from this company. You will regret it.

I have been more than patient over the last several years throughout the multiple episodes where they have failed to pick up on trash day, and made me wait until the following week. The long hold times, trying to get to someone to try and handle the problem have become unbearable. It's obvious by their attitude when you do reach them that they're dealing with this over and over. You think they would try and fix it after a while. I've had it, I'm going with another company. Any other company.

This company is a joke. Allied Waste picked up the garbage several days late for 4 weeks in row. Then, AW did not pick it up at all 2 weeks in a row. Customer service claims they had no record of the message I left each time I discovered the garbage had not been picked up. Yet, they left a voice mail returning my call a couple of times. When I got through to a person, I insisted upon speaking with a manager. Of course they insisted someone in management would return my phone call that day, but management never returned the call. When I called back and demanded to speak with a manager, I was put through only to be told she was dispatching the driver right away so the garbage would be picked up today and the driver would call me. Yet it's 6:00pm and no garbage has been picked and no phone call has been received. AW bought out BFI. I received excellent service from BFI, but received only horrible service as soon as AW took over the account. I am demanding a refund for the last 2 months and contacting everyone I can within the AW Company to complain about this poor service.

I feel the same as the other guy, wish I'd read the reviews here before I'd gone with Allied Waste (BFI). They rarely did a recycle pickup on the scheduled pickup day (Thurs) and I'd have to call and call and eventually they'd come on like Monday. AND - this is a big and - all of a sudden they told me they were no longer doing yard waste pickup, and that if I needed it that I'd have to call to schedule it and it'd be $20 each time! What a rip off. In the summer, I have to cut and bag my bermuda grass about every week, I needed weekly and AFFORDABLE yard waste pickup. That was the last straw. I've moved to Red Oak sanitation, our neighborhood's preferred vendor who charges $18 per YEAR for yard waste pickup weekly. We'll see how that goes...

Do yourself a favor and sign up with anyone but Allied Waste (BFI) for your waste disposal. All of their competitors offer lower prices and more reliable service. I had to call six times in an eight week period to get my recycled bin emptied, and each time when it was (eventually) picked up, it was just dumped into their regular garbage truck---so my efforts to recycle were completely wasted. And also, this company charges substantially more than any of their competitors, for service that is as inept as it is contemptuous. If you're at all environmentally conscious, or if you don't want to pay too much for your waste disposal, or if you just don't want tremendous hassles with a service that you shouldn't have to give a second thought to, I'd advise you not to sign up with Allied Waste/BFI. Wow, I wish I had visited Kudzu first because my experience echos exactly what everyone else is saying. I've been with BFI for 6 weeks. They've yet to pick up my trash on the alloted day. I STILL haven't gotten my recycling bin, even though I call once a week, and each time they assure me that it'll be over within the next 24 hours. I have never in my life experienced worst service - anybody but BFI!!!

As with the other comments, AW continually misses picking up the recycling, garbage or both. I usually need to call them once a month because they missed a pickup. Meanwhile their rates have risen significantly since we first signed up with them 2-3 years ago. (I know...my fault for not switching before now...now I am.)

Allied Waste's service is atrocious. As with other posters here, I've had to call repeatedly because of a lack of pick up service on the assigned day. Recycling service is especially poor, which is galling because recycling carries an additional charge. Were it possible to indicate a rating with negative stars, I would have done that.

This is the worst service that I have ever had, to the point that I am changing service and if these slugs buy the company I switch to, I will change again. Never on time supposed to pick up on Friday and most of the time they show up on Saturday -early. Raised prices only to decrease service.

They do not pick up on the scheduled day, sometimes the next day or even two days later. When I have called customer service to complain, I'm on hold for at least 15 minutes and then they are rude and unconcerned! Absolutely, the worst customer service. Do not use!

I ordered residential service over 3 weeks ago from Allied Waste/BFI for my Marietta home, and they have yet to come to pickup. I've called 12 times to complain and everytime they've promised me to pickup the trash ASAP. They never did, and I got a refund. Now I have 3 weeks of trash to get rid of. I will never use Allied Waste again.
