Great place to work with
We needed new vacuums for two of our automotive repair facilities. I called them and told them what I needed. She was very helpful and directed me to the models what would best suit my needs. The surprising part was she brought them to the shop and showed me how they worked. I was very impressed with their service and would gladly go there for any needs in the future.

Great Service
I've been in the store several times to do everything from purchase a machine to buying fabric. The staff is always friendly and happy to help. Lessons on my machine are free and they are one-on-one which helps when I started to learn my new embroidery machine. The store is always clean and bright. The fabric selection is also wonderful.

They broke my sewing machine!
I took my sewing machine in to Aloha Vac n Sew to have it tuned up. When I picked it up, I carefully put it in a box and packed towels around it for the trip home. My husband lifted it out of the box and carried it to my sewing table. I went to take the towels out of the box and found a big piece of metal in the bottom. I was puzzled until I realized that it was a support piece from the bottom of my sewing machine! Upon closer inspection, I saw where it had broken off the machine and that someone had tried to repair it with liquid solder. Obviously, someone had broken it and was trying to cover their mistake but it was such a poor effort that it did not even last until I got it home. I took it back and confronted the owner and he kept denying that he was responsible and even insinuated that I had broken it myself. His ""proof"" that he wasn't responsible was that he didn't have liquid solder in his workshop. Well, someone in his store had it!! Now I am stuck with a broken machine that I DID NOT BREAK and a horrible memory of being treated like a liar. I just wanted everyone who is thinking about doing business with Aloha Vac n Sew to hear about my experience. You may want to reconsider.

Learn to Sew class was a waste of time and money
My poor rating is for the classes more than for the store itself - or, at least, for the ""Learn to Sew"" class. What I had hoped to get out of a basic sewing class was familiarity with a sewing machine, different basic stitches, and enough know-how to be able to repair a simple seam and hem a pair of pants (I'm tired of having to pay $12 to a tailor for hemming). This class was a two-evening class with a ""simple"" project - a pair of pajamas. As it happened, the instructor did not allow for NEARLY enough time to complete the project. There was no time for questions, no time for going over and reviewing what we learned, no time to learn, and no time to finish the project. The instructor wound up threading our machines and fixing them if there were problems in the interest of saving time, so I came out of the class with no real idea on how to work a sewing machine, what the basic stitches are, how to read a pattern, and an unfinished pair of pajamas that I have no idea what to do with. A total waste of time and money, I'm sorry to say. I didn't even enjoy myself - it was hot as blazes in the classroom, and because the class began at the absolute worst time of day - 5:30, so I had to leave immediately after work - and didn't end until 9:00 (and ran over anyway), I was famished. It would have been smarter to arrange three 2-hour classes, and much less painful. A bad experience all-around!
