This is the worst place to go for a natural birthing experience. I'm a charge nurse at Northside and was referred to AWS by a co-worker. The office is very pretty but as soon as you step in the door the front staff is very rude and seemed as though they did not know what they were doing. On top of that when signing in I waited in the waiting room for an hour maybe they should learn how to not over book there schedule. When finally getting to see the doctor she rushed me out the door this is my first baby and YES I do have questions I'm not an animal I'm a human. I couldn't believe the service I was getting from this place, the Spanish lady WATCH OUT she is the rudest one in this place, over the phone and in person. This staff needs to realize they are a business to the public the way they treat people is wrong. Trust I will never refer anyone to their office. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!

The building is nice and the staff (front, nurses, check out, etc.) were all very friendly to me. I saw the midwife, Janet. She was very friendly but seemed hurried. I didn't get a chance to get questions answered at either of my two visits. Some information she gave me also wasn't accurate. I just felt uncomfortable and for me that wasn't worth it (especially because I do not live or work nearby).

Currently pregnant. I like the space overall it's very clean and nice. But staff seems a bit rude at times. And the OB Doctor seems to rush you out a lot w/o 1st answering questions. This is my 1st pregnancy so I have questions! My 1st appt was so rushed I wasn't even told my due date lol hope I find out today when I go back.

The facility was very nice, and they were very supportive of all my decisions regarding my pregnancy/birth throughout the process. However, the office staff was not great and there was no follow-up when I called with questions. I was told more than once that I would receive a call back and had to call again every time. There seemed to be an overall lack of organization. I had good experiences with the nurses. Janet was friendly and warm overall, but seemed to have a sort of nervous energy that was less than ideal when birthing a baby. She was nice and encouraging through the process, but did not contribute to a peaceful environment at all. The wait time wasn't bad and the one time Janet was held up by a birth Dr. Scineaux was there within a short time to take over her appointments. I felt like my visits were somewhat rushed and at times when I had questions, Janet jumped in to answer before really taking the time to hear me out, thus not truly offering help. I never felt truly embraced as a person, more like they just did their jobs and I was a part of getting through the workday. There were also some unnecessary issues with billing. All in all nothing about my experience with AWS was horrible, but nothing about it was very good either. I can't recommend them.

As a current patient of Dr. Scineaux's, I was surprised to arrive at my appointment and be told that BEFORE seeing the Dr. (for a sick visit), I would have to prepay for my coinsurance. First off, I have had the same insurance for years, and this is the first time that they were asking me to pre-pay anything other than copay. Secondly, the amount due was shown as scribbled notes on a piece of paper & when I asked how they calculated charges PRIOR to my visit, the receptionist could not provide a logical explanation. I asked for an itemized bill & she said that she could not provide that YET. What??? Apparently they are attempting to collect coinsurance payments from their patients BEFORE anything is entered into the system, BEFORE the negotiated insurance pricing returns from filing. They were asking for $200 today, which was supposedly my 20% coinsurance. That would mean that the visit would've totaled around $1000!! An exorbitant price for an OB/GYN visit. If this is their new system, I cannot imagine all of the fraudulent billing that must occur. Between this experience and the overall feeling of disorganization that exudes from this office, I can attest that I will not be returning to see Dr. Scineaux. She is absolutely not worth the hassle.

I researched all the OBGYN offices in the area and decided to choose AWS. When I arrived I was presently surprised with the beautiful decor and ambiance inside (not your typical obgyn office). I had a consult with Dr.Scineaux in which she answered all my questions and I didn't feel rushed. Afterwards she introduced me to her midwives and staff upon leaving I felt so comfortable at this point that I knew she was the doctor for me and my baby. I refer all my friends and co-workers here and they all have the same glowing reviews.

Clinic Good things first: The clinic is in a nice building, comfortable and clean and waiting times for me were not too bad. Doctors/Nurses The nurses were nice and friendly but seemed a little inexperienced. My consultation with the doctor was friendly/ok. I went to understand why I was not receiving and got some good advice (buy a $250 ovulation detector). Had the staff done a pregnancy test before, which would have confirmed my pregnancy, I could have saved some money. Despite this simple task, the overall impression is that the clinic is unorganized, involves too many people and processes are not mature yet. Service The service staff is unfriendly and unprofessional, payment authorizations are lost and waiting times on the phone to schedule an appointment are long. When I transferred, it took weeks and several follow-up calls to send over my chart. Billing Along with the disorganization of the service staff, the billing is more than unclear with bills being corrected along the way and arriving late.

I'm very surprised by the negative reviews posted. My prenatal care with AWS has been wonderful. I'm due in a few weeks, and I'm very happy to have Janet as my midwife. I started coming here in November 2010 with the intentions of seeing Kay Johnson. Since Kay left early this year, I started seeing the midwife Janet and I love her! (She is very friendly, she is always smiling, very charismatic, and encouraging.) Personally, I feel Janet is more patient than Kay was. I never feel rushed during my appointments; Janet always answers my questions. The nurses and staff are friendly as well. I usually don't have to wait long for my appointments. (Babies are born on their own terms, so I'm understanding when I do have to wait, or an appointment needs to be changed.) I'm really looking forward to the birth of my child since I have such a wonderful midwife who is very supportive of my wishes.

Coming to Alpharetta Womens Specialists was the best experiance i have ever had with any doctor. I can't believe some of the reviews that were posted because the entire staff treated me with a great deal of pleasure. The girls up front were very supportive and kind i felt as though i could laugh and talk to them about anything. Janet was very nice and answered all the questions plus more and even took care of me by giving me different free prenatals to try. I felt as though i could be care free and just relax during my preg because AWS takes very good care of me

I recently visited AWS for my new prenatal appointment and I was greeted very warmly. I met with Janet the midwife and she sat and gave me a wonderful one on one experience that I was looking for. The doctor came in and introduced herself to me and my husband. Once we left we were extremely comfortably and were happy we chose this practice. I don't understand and agree with the previous comments about Alpharetta Women's Specialists.

I went to Alpharetta Womens Specialists in my 2nd trimester and had the worst experience ever. There were only two women who made my appointment a little less stressful the lab nurse and Vanessa but everyone else seem to be some what lost and confused. There where so many people for such a samll office manybe they should only take on what they can handle. When i got back to see the mid wife Janet after waiting for nearly 45 mins she quickly rushed me out and didn't nearly answer some of the questions I had what a waste! They did draw my blood which i didn't think she knew what she doing for a min but i was ready to get out of there. The check out girl seem to have an attitude and was very snappy she made it seem as though it was about her going on and on about her children to the lady being checked out before me. At this point i just wanted to walk out but as im standing there waiting the check out lady just seem to be so rude so i made and appointment but never went back thank goodness i could transfer because my pregnancy would have been depressing with them.

We chose this practice because I had previously done a hospital waterbirth and wanted to do the same again. Our initial "consult" was horrible. We waited for a very long time and when we finally met with Kay the midwife all she had to say to us was "so what questions do you have?" She was very cold and flat with us. We decided to give the practice a try anyway and regret it. Our next visit with Kay, she was rude and cold and treated us like just a number. Then we saw Janet who although more personable, was very scattered and disorganized. Two different times she left messages about lab results to discuss and it took me calling for 24-48 hours to get back in touch with her. The office staff was rude and made no attempts to connect me with the midwife to get my results. The ultrasound tech fumbled with the machine and kept making excuses about being unfamiliar with the equipment. We received no patient education at AWS and got terrible customer service! We have since switched to ISIS and are very pleased. I was also very shocked that when I called to cancel my last appointment, the office staff never asked if I needed to reschedule and after I called back to have my records transferred, I never got any correspondence from them questioning why I was leaving the practice. Icing on the cake!!!!

My previous children were born at other hospitals here in town with epidurals. I had really wanted natural births with them, but didn't find the support in the hospital nor the midwives. With Janet, it was so much better. She really supported me with my waterbirth and the great thing was that my baby weighed 10 pounds! It was a wonderful experience. I don't think I would've had that chance anywhere else. She was very calm and hands-off and let me do my thing. She didn't rush me and push pain medication on me when things got tough. I felt she had faith in me. I had to wait sometimes for my appointments, but it's because these midwives take their time in answering questions. Every time I came with a list of questions, everyone of them was answered. I'm assuming they do this with every patient. I didn't feel like a number here. I would highly recommend this practice.

Tried switching to their staff during 3rd trimester. After being told that they had openings, were told that the MD had to review my medical records before accepting me. Took them over a week and a half to get back to us. As this was a last minute switch, didn't have much time, and after waiting for them to review my file, said they were too busy and could not accept us. Staff were very rude on the phone and would not answer questions. Have been working with a Bradley class instructor, and several other couples had the same experience as I did. Do not use them, as they treat you like a number, not a patient.

I have never been treated so horribly. In short, I was put through 4 weeks of blood tests when an ultrasound at week 2 (10 weeks gestation) would have determined that I was going to miscarry. Instead of the ultrasound I was put through numerous hcg-beta blood tests. In addition, I was told on 2 occasions that the fetus was not viable...I would need a D&C. After both of these conversations I was called back 10-15 minutes later and told that I wouldn't be getting a D&C, but I needed further blood work. I understand wanting to be cautious in this situation, but an ultrasound would have provided the information they/I needed. What a roller coaster. Your baby is dead...No, wait it may be alive. I finally miscarried on my own. I was having horrible cramps and extremely heavy bleeding/clotting. I called the office and explained my situation. The receptionist put me on hold and came back 30 seconds later. She said, "heavy bleeding is normal. If you're uncomfortable go to the ER". I'm still speechless. What a cold, heartless reply. On top of that, I didn't even get to talk to a doc. or nurse. Oh, and don't catch the girl at the front desk on a bad day. She's got a little attitude. I will not set foot in this office again. I will tell all of my friends to stay away.
