Food poisoning, mgr unconcerned, 9/21/2014

I ate the beet arugula salad and ended up in Northside's ER. Two days later I was able to go to Alpine and speak with a manager. He said no one has ever gotten sick from eating at Alpine. The... doctor disagrees. The mgr did offer me a piece of cake. BEWARE!

Great product but a little crowded when I went, 1/04/2012

I guess good things are worth waiting on. They have great selections and prices but I had to wait longer than I would like but I am a little impatient when we shop. I will be back when they are not... so busy.

MILLION DOLLAR CAKE!

This place is phenomenal! I've eaten at the sit-down portion of the restaurant, which was lovely, but the real draw of this little gem is the BAKERY, which takes up the entire right wing of the restaurant. Please, please do yourself a favor and purchase a slice of Million Dollar Cake, Chocolate Swiss Roll, or Strawberry Swiss Roll. You will not be disappointed! The staff is SUPER friendly and attentive--very happy to answer questions. It's a little pricey, yes, but WELL WORTH IT! I love this place, and plan to be a loyal customer for years to come.

let down

I went with a coupe of friends to try out the new restaurant from Alpine bakery and we were very much disappointed. We all love the bakery part as we have for many years but my goodness the restaurant sure needs help. The bruchetta was soggy. I ordered the salmon and it was stone cold when it came and had to send it back. They came back with the same Salmon reheated... I know it was the same salmon because the top was burned as it was the first time I got my food. I'm still tasting burned salmon 2 hours after lunch. We had to ask for salt and pepper and sweetner.. not provided on the table. The other dishes that my friends ordered were not seasoned properly and tasted so so. When my friend payed with her AX card the manager came to her and said it was declined... but when my friend called AX they just wanted the restaurant to check her ID. However... somebody at the restaurant did try to buy I-tunes with her card and she now has to wait for a new card. I will never go back and probably not even to their bakery which I have adored for years....

A Must Pass in this economy

would pass here folks. This establishment is too pricey for today's economy. $11-$20 per pound for cookies? $100 cakes? I don't think so. This is not a family style bakery as all bakery's should be. They crank out product some in-house and other procured from vendors. They just opened up a restaurant in crabapple that I will be reviewing shortly (quick peek- The sauces are a miserable attempt at Italian food, salads OK, wine prices at par the atmosphere is like the lobby of the Marriott hotel plus zero personality. A must pass by this reviewer.)

Too expensive!

Cakes start at $38.00. A larger cake is $55. I like the warmth of southern hospitality and I didn't get it there. Life is too short and competition is too stiff for those prices

I'm in carrot cake heaven.

I am eating some of the best carrot cake I have ever eaten, and believe me - I've eaten a lot. The slice is HUGE, the cake moist, and the frosting is fluffy and not too sweet. In addition to the cake, my husband and I shared a Stromboli. That's another thing that was giant sized, bit it's a small to Alpine. I can't imagine how they cook a large! The prices are very reasonable and the people who work there are friendly and helpful. We will be going there again and again!

A fantastic bakery

My husband and I found Alpine Bakery by 'mistake' one day when driving around. What a pleasant surprise! When we walked in we saw cases full of super-tall cakes, and bunches of different delicious-looking pastries. The éclairs and cannolis are perfect! We’ve been back a few times, and everything else we’ve tried has been fantastic (Oreo cake, red velvet cake, Boston cream pie are a few stand-outs). They also make tasty pizzas (FYI – there’s no seating inside – so it’s really more of a take-home deal). This place is great!

EXCELLENT bakery! (and great pizza, too!)

Alpine Bakery - not related to the one on Holcomb Bridge Road - creates awesome products!! In my book, they are the #1 bakery in Atlanta. The only problem I have with Alpine is the huge variety of yummy items make it difficult to contain how much I buy. Try Alpine. You'll be glad you did!

Absolutely the BEST!!!!!

This is the bakery I hoped to find when I moved from LA to Atlanta in '98. It was worth the wait!!! Since Alpine opened about 5 years ago, I won't go anywhere else. My response to the reviewer who is put off because the products are not made on site: Get over it! Do you really expect a small strip mall retail store to have a big production bakery on site? The issue should be - are the products fresh, with pure ingredients, and tasty? If yes, then why should it matter that they don't bake on site? Anyway, I'm a true Alpine fan, and all my friends and colleagues have also become true Alpine fans. I'm glad I found them. Their credo seems to be "sell large portions of incredibly delicious pastries made with pure, old fashioned ingredients, and sell them for a reasonable price". Thank you, Alpine!

Good cakes, a little pricy

Alpine Bakery features cakes that are a foot tall. No joke. You are paying 5 bucks a slice, but you walk out with a hefty slice of very good cake. I don't really care too much that the cakes are made off premises. Every slice I have bought and consumed tasted fresh and tasty. In fact, some of the cake slices I have bought were simply "too much". The Swiss Cake Roll Cake and the Coconut Cake are my favorites, while my wife always goes with either Carrot or the "Million Dollar" Cake.

Alpine "Fakery" not Bakery

They sell the cakes as "fresh", but they are frozen and delivered to the bakery. They do not make the Lobster Claws, they only fill them. This is the case with other items in the bakery as well, but they are not always honest about it. The only ovens in the place are the pizza ovens.

Great cakes

YUMMY cakes! We esp loved the white chocolate raspberry cake. They sell by the slice and the whole cake. The lobster claws were great too. In all, tasty! (We tried the pizza in the other part of the restaurant and found it edible but bland.)
