this is NOT the agency for you. My experience with Central Home Health Care (Phoenix Pkwy.) in providing care for my grandmother has been less than ideal. The staff is friendly on the phone, and even in person. However, when it comes down to the real work, which is providing good quality care, they don't deliver. First of all, they schedule appointments. Then, they don't show up for the appointment, and they never call to say that they need to cancel or reschedule the appointment. They fail to answer questions about care or supplemental services you may require. Instead, they direct you to contact someone else without providing the appropriate contact information. When they arrive for appointments, they are unprepared, forgetting the appropriate supplies for care they are to provide. For example, the staff was to start an IV for my 86 year old dehydrated grandmother and came to the house without a butterfly needle. Keep in mind, (1) another sets of nurses tried to start the IV two days prior and determined that a butterfly needle was needed, and (2) they were aware that she had small, rolling veins. Any experienced nurse should know (1) to come prepared with a variety of needles to start an IV, and (2) to use a butterfly needle with a person who is dehydrated and has small, rolling veins. So, if you are looking for a in-home care provider, LOOK ELSEWHERE!
