Worst customer experience ever, 8/18/2013

Make no mistake about it; this shop has no desire to do anything besides provide you with a full and very costly repair. They will not listen to a customer who says they are not willing to spend... much money on a vehicle and make every effort to deceive you into thinking they are keeping your costs down until you accept or reject an expensive repair. My vehicle had a late shift between first and second gear on days over 100 degrees if I've been driving for more than an hour straight. I refused 3 different offers of $1,500 plus and was told that I owed them 7.5 hours of labor at $95/hr it took to check into the problem. So, $1,500 or your car that you drove in here three days ago won't run, but you owe $700. This three day had many phone calls I'd had with the shop and the owner. I was repeatedly told I would be called back and not called. I was hung up on a couple of times and it was made clear that their personal matters are more important than the customers'. I couldn't stand to give them another dollar beyond what was made clear I was legally liable for, so I towed my vehicle without being repaired. They might do good work if you let them, but don't go near unless you are absolutely sure you need a whole transmission.

dont take your car to this shop, go to BBB you will see a lot of complaints!! or talk to next door offices they will tell you how bad this place is and will tell you that they always see cops there... or maybe call the shirrifs office ask them how many times they go to this place in a month!!! do some research about this place before taking your car!!

Best shop in Katy!

So long story short, I drive a 2001 Honda Civic and my transmission had been having problems. When i took my vehicle in i meet a kind assistant women who then after a few minutes introduced me to the manager i believe was named Sal, he was kind and patient with me offering me superb assistance. only a week later after he scheduled for my car to be ready i came to pick it up and it ran like brand new (not to be cliche) but honestly its been no problems since. So kind i wanted to let others know of the good reputation this place deserves. i would recommend this to any one with car problems in Houston and i will return if i need any help on my transmission in the future!

Do Not Use

This company is a sham and scam. They mess up the repairs but you still have to pay. Check the BBB and other reviews! Wish I had done that first. Owner has no integrity.

Do not trust

The owner is a liar. He will tell you one thing and later once he has his hands on your car, tell you another thing in the price and the problem of your car. He gives nothing in writing until you see the bill. "Beware of his Life Time Trans Warranty". Here is his version of his warranty: "Rebuild transmission lifetime warranty customer covers parts after 24 months and 23K miles, no towing no rental car under warranty, void if customer neglects oil, seals, gaskets." He claims to give you 100 off rental car while your shop is in and a web discount but he only shows a total on your bill. He also claims his mechanic is an expert in your car and charges nowhere near the dealer amount for repairs. It is all lies. Same here my car was fine with no lights on. I wanted to service my transmissions oil and he indicated it was slipping etc………..Do not take your car to Americas Transmission for anything. He is the biggest scam artist.

Thought my Tahoe was Broken, they fixed the cable

I wholeheartedly expected to have to rebuild my transmission because it would not move.Americas Transmission actually diagnosed it and found it was a broken cable. Cost me $245. Not 3K+ like at the dealer. They have absolutely gained my trust.

Good Experience. Will Return

Had problem with my Impala. Wouldnt start in the morning. Sal towed it in no cost. Turns out it was just a battery. I went down to Auto Zone and used the shop discount. The mechanics installed it at no charge. They just asked me to pass the word along. So here you go guys. thanks again.

Helped my Daughter with Big Transmission Problem

My daughter was in town from College Station. her Saturn transmission barely made it back. She received a few quotes from bigname franchise transmission repair shops. Seems they would spend 5 minutes with the car and say 'you need a rebuild for $2500'. Sal and his transmission shop offered a refreshing alternative. They tried a free diagnostic, transmission fluid change also. Only after trying these options, did they repair the transmission. And oh yeah, they did not charge for the stuff that didn't fix it. Also, got my daughter a lifetime warranty on the transmission repair. Meaning I can pass the car on to my next child. Thanks again.‎

Kept My Explorer in Top Shape

I have been bringing our explorer to Sal for years. He has done a radiator, brakes, and other small items for us. He and the techs at his transmission shop in Katy,Texas are very knowledgeable and always take time to explain the repairs to you. Recently we had the transmission go out and Sal was able to help us once again. While we did not decide to repair the car, because we recently bought a new one, Sal was still very helpful. We will be bringing the new car to his transmission shop for future service. Thanks.
