I am not an employee or friend. I just had my brakes done by Joe and his crew. Jim Ellis, which is a great place as well, just wanted to charge me too too too much money. Joe did a great job for half the price. Good job JOE!

Dealerships try to tell you that there is no alternative but to go back to them when your high end car develops a problem even as simple as a blown tail light bulb. I took my 08 Mercedes S550 to RBM Atlanta for a service and they told me I needed to replace my brakes at an exhorbitant price of $1398. I declined the service and took my car to Joe and crew at American Brake. I sure needed brakes but did not pay anything near the price the dealership was trying to charge me. They used original Mercedes parts, completed the job in half the time and and saved me close to 50%. Great job guys.

I have a contact and was told that the online reviews on Kudzu unfortunately more often than not done by employees or friends of the company. So beware. I am posting this here because I recently had a poor experience with this brake store and couldn't believe what happened after reading the reviews.

I'd read the reviews before going here. I wasn't sure that any auto repair could be that highly reviewed. There was a squeak in my daughter's brakes so I brought the car in for a brake job. I'd called the day before, Friday, and was told bring it in tomorrow and we'll fit it in. Dropped off @ 8am on a Sat when they close at 2pm and after 1.5 hrs got a call from Ryan that the front brakes were fine with 50-60% lining still there. There were groves in the back drums that they could machine out and the shoes could be ground to eliminate the ridge that had formed from the groove, most likely to be causing the squeak. There would still be 20-30% good lining on the shoes afterwards. Ryan suggested that I flush the brake lines since I'd bought the car used and didn't know the brake history. I agreed to the flush and due to the lower lining remaining after grinding, and that the vehicle carries my most precious cargo, I opted to have new linings placed on the back. Ryan gave me a price that was lower than I expected and said should be about 2 hrs. In less than 2 hrs Ryan called to say it was ready and at less than quoted price. Their honesty is refreshing in today's world. Could have been 3 times the price at most other places. Thanks guys. I'll be back with my truck soon. Rick

I am a loyal Landrover person. However, after pricing several places, I was totally impressed with Joe, Neal, Patrick, and staff as they secured factory parts, options that were the best for my vehicle giving me a very fair price. I researched prices for two day and found their price to be mid-range with top parts, service on the same day of my call, and courtesy that offered driving me to the nearby coffee shop while I waited. My car is running and working great and I have made appointments to check other maintenance prevention needs for the near future. I enjoy the dealerships and I look forward to this professional group serving my European vehicle.

Need a great place for auto repairs, see Joe at ABS on Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta.. I've been a customer for over 5 years & am very satisfied with the job/jobs they do. All three of my cars are serviced there & highly recommend that anyone tired of the poor quality of other service providers should definetly visit American Brake Service.. Thank you

Maybe the economy is effecting their judgment but their service is shoddy, and they recommend things that are not required, then show no remorse whatsoever for taking your money and not fixing your problems. Never ever again. Beware.

Some customers only attend to their vehicles when they stop working properly and more often than not the apparent problem is compounded by lack of basic maintenance for example replacing spark plugs at the manufacturer's recommended mileage. With that in mind a diagnosis of an ignition related problem for example an engine misfire is near impossible without first replacing worn out ignition parts. We never recommend things that are not required and we subscribe to a repair and maintenance manual that is very up to date on maintenance requirements for the majority of vehicles on our roads today. We stand behind our vehicle manufacturer recommendations and we always explain in detail the recomendations and the likely outcome of the work if only part of the recommendations are performed. It's not always possible to kill two birds with one stone.(American Brake and Foreign Car Service)
I was an ABS fan and referred friends to their shop, however, I am embarassed I ever mentioned their name. They are completely unethical and do not stand by their word or their work. The mechanics are either novice or crooks. Either way do not take your car to them. Misdiagnosed three, not one, but three cars and then try to justify it instead of admitting they are inexperienced in any area other than brakes and oil changes.

A prescription from the doctor will not cure one's ailments if not filled and medications taken as ordered by the doctor. Same applies to fixing a problem with a vehicle. If a vehicle has a problem that's is a direct result of a neglected earlier failure, it is not always possible to eradicate the secondary problem without fixing the cause. We have vast experience in automotive mechanical and driveability repairs that goes well beyond brakes and oil changes as demonstrated by the percentage of our repeat business in those areas. We can not be deemed incapable simply because one decides not to follow all the necessary steps recommended to eliminate the problem with their vehicle. We will continue to do our work as professionals and will not take responsibility for those who chose to take short cuts and make bad decisions regarding repairs to their automobiles. We most certainly stand behind our work and we always offer a 12 month/12000 miles warranty on all the work that we perform. (American Brake and Foreign Car Service)
Not so great this time!I've been dealing with this shop for about 10 years.Normally,I work with Joe and everything is fine. I was quoted over $425.00 for front and rear brakes.I thought it sounded high so I called Firestone Tire around the corner and the same job was $325.00. I was born at night but NOT last night! A $100.00 difference is a lot of money for the same exact job.I heard a lot of foul language coming from the shop. I'm not a saint but I didn't expect to hear that at 8:00am in the morning. Very disappointed on this trip.

We apologize for the bad experience. Unfortunately we cannot compare prices with other shops because 1) they use inferior product and 2) cut corners to offer an 'attractive' price. We stand by our pricing because we believe our service is worth every dollar to you, as a customer and us as a business, hence the saying, 'You get what you pay for'. We will be glad to serve your automotive maintenance needs in the future if you decide to continue to do business with us. (American Brake and Foreign Car Service)
Last week my brakes died out on me when I got into a car accident. I had to go to work on Monday, and I needed to get my brakes fixed as soon as possible. I decided to go to American Brake Services, and they got the job done relatively quickly with a reasonable price.

ABS at the corner of Johnson Ferry Road and Easb Cobb Drive is the best brake shop in the area. I have taken my cars to ABS for years... I've tried other brake places like NTB, Chevron, Midas, etc and have never been satisifed with the work done at these shops. Joe has been managing this ABS for years... he is friendly, honest and has great customer focus. They will fix any problems with quality of their work without hesitation... this is the only place I take my vehicles to for any type of brake work.

I live in Buckhead but the trip up to Marietta is worth it. I have been taking my Jeep Cherokee to ABS for almost 2 years. Joe and his team have always provided great, honest service in a timely manner. The last time I was there, I witnessed that Joe was able to fix the brakes on another customer's vehicle for less than $100 when the Nissan dealership had quoted her $1,200 to replace parts that were perfectly fine!

I was looking on Kudzu for brake repair place after getting a high estimate from another repair facility and was drawn to American Brake Service because they had 53 extremely favorable customer reviews. Called, talked to Joe about my brake problem, and then decided to go see Joe in person. This was on a Saturday. He gave me an estimate immediately, even though he was really busy, which was much less for the same work, so I left him my Nissan Titan. On Monday they called and let me know it was ready to pick up. When I got there my bill was actually $40 less than the estimate!!! That's never happen to me before! Brakes are important on any vehicle, and I am very confident that Joe did the job the right way, and saved me money in the process. When businesses learn the value of "exceeding customer expectations" they will soon thrive from repeat business and referrals. Joe, the owner of ABS has already figured this out long ago. Way to go Joe! I have already told 3 friends and family members about you and you have me as a customer for life!
