I paid another company too much money to unsuccessfully attempt a diagnosis. Next I called American Energy and they showed up on time and diagnosed and repaired the unit in no time at all. This is my go to HVAC service company from now on.

My downstairs AC went out the week before the July 4th holiday. I contacted multiple HVAC companies including American Energy. All of the other companies could not install my AC until the week following July 4th and only one other could even give me an estimate prior to the holiday. American Energy was amazing, they came right out and gave an estimate. The best part was working with Kathleen, she is the finest customer service professional I have dealt with in a long time. She was patient and explained many different options. The best part was she asked me when I wanted the AC installed. This was on the Friday before July 4th and I of course told her that I wanted it ASAP as my air was completely down. She arranged to have Rheem to go out to their supply house on Saturday July 3 even though they were closed. The American Energy technicians arrived right on time and had the new unit installed within 3 hours. The technicians, Carl and "T" were great! So in summary, this was an excellent and amazing experience, especially given the holiday. They had my unit INSTALLED within 3 days of my first call to them, this was before other companies could even make an appointment for an estimate with me.

We are very pleased and grateful for the fine work that was done. Michael took the time to carefully assess our system then saved us thousands. My air conditioning unit was icing up, so after reading the reviews on Kudzu, I phoned American Energy Heating and Air to discuss the problem. The lady that handled my call was very knowledgeable and gave me a very good indication of what would happen during the service call. The technicians were able to come to the house a day earlier than originally scheduled and fixed the problem in a very professional manner. No unexpected charges and the system is now working fine. I would highly recommend their service.

Had problem with my HVAC unit and Michael came out to diagnosis the problem. Spent time on roof to add freon to unit and replace some corroded wires. System was finally working when he left. Turns out later that day after I returned home from work I had no cool air blowing and upstairs zone/thermostat was not talking to unit. Mike and his wife took my calls after hours and then after realizing we could not troubleshoot anymore on the phone they set up appointment to come back very next day at time when it was most convenient for me. Replaced dated thermostat and ran needed common wire and everything worked fine. Even blew out the lines to make sure all was clear. Michael and his assistant stayed late on a Friday and made sure it was working fine. After paying reasonable fee for first call and service, I was not charged for him to come back and spend some considerable time working on the problem. Great service and Michael truly stands by his work! Would highly recommend!

Last July, I received quotes to replace our 20 year old furnace and A/C from a half-dozen premier HVAC shops both big and small. To me, Michael and Kathleen demonstrated an unmatched balance of responsiveness, integrity, personal attention and experience. Not only have we been very pleased with the installation almost a year later, but those qualities have shown through well after the installation. So, if you want honest, reliable help, call American Energy. Highly recommended.

Promptly returned my initial phone call to schedule an appointment for AC service and showed up on time. Needed to order a part for my unit and came back early for the next appt to fix it. Had everything put together and up and running in under an hour. Friendly service, answered all of my questions about what was going on with the unit, and guarantee their work for a year from the service date. Thanks guys!!

I wanted to write another glowing review, but they kudzu only let me edit my previous. I love this company! Not only have they done excellent and reasonably priced work in the past, they have troubleshot with me over the phone, solving the problem without a service call! They have saved me a lot of money more than once. That is so honest and decent. And they are nice, too. HIGHLY recommended.

I have dealt with many HVAC companies down through the years. When our RHEEM heater quit working I called American based on prior Kudzu reviews. They are great. They came within 24 hours, diagnosed the problem, ordered parts, and came back within 3 days (included the weekend) and fixed the problem. The price seemed reasonable. We will use them again! Highly recommend them.

After two visits out to my home to discuss replacing both my AC and Furnace, I thought the company's price was right and scheduled installation. The crew arrived, but quickly realized that I had a heat pump on my existing system. They had the wrong units to install for both systems. Michael said he would give me a quote on both pieces within the next few days and we could discuss since the price quote would change. He never resubmitted a quote to me and then seemed confused when I told him I no longer wanted his business a week later. The company did not seem knowledgeable on my equipment after several visits out to my home and I would not recommend them.

I remember this call since this has only happened 1 time, and occurred in July of 2009. The original call/visit was for a Free Estimate and the 2nd visit was to perform the installation. Unfortunately a mistake was made; we offer on the job training to students who are attending HVAC trade schools. The day we visited you, I had a tech in training with me, and he did not realize that your system was a heat pump. On the day of installation is when I realized a mistake had been made. I immediately informed you of the mistake and quoted you the difference in cost. We agreed on a new installation date for 2 weeks later, per your request. I received an email from you later in the week cancelling your installation. I did respond to your email and left you a voice mail message, my email & phone call where not returned. I am very sorry that an honest mistake has left you with a negative and inaccurate impression, and feel we do not deserve a 1 star rating for an honest mistake.
My home warranty sent an HVAC company to fix my furnace. Their diagnosis and estimate seemed suspect so I called American Energy. Kathleen listened with genuine concern and I could see that she was interested in helping me get an unbiased opinion. Michael came to my house and confirmed that the estimate from the previous company was unnecessarily high. He presented both a repair and replacement option. American Energy is an honest company with great service and I would not hesitate to use them in the future.

I have used American Energy many times over the past few years. I found them when getting quotes on some AC issues I was having on an older unit. While 2 other companies told me I needed a new unit, American Energy fixed the problem for a very reasonable price, saving me a lot of money. I have used them on several rental properties and also at my residence. They are very polite, professional, on time & have great prices. I trust them fully and will never use anyone else.

I have tenants in my townhouse and the wife speaks very little english. I had a lot of trouble communicating to American Energy exactly what the nature of the problem was because my tenant couldn't explain it very well to me. A) they came out prepared for anything based on my feeble explanation B) Kathleen from the office got on the phone with the tenant while I was there to get a better story C) they checked and fixed and checked again. D) Kathleen called us back after the job was done to explain what was done and why to the tenant. I think that was above and beyond and really helped me give good customer service to my tenant. Not to mention I received an accurate diagnosis, free air filter and confirmation of the repair in a very porfessional yet friendly manner from the two guys that came out.

I called American Energy to come out for my ac...they came out on time and called me 30 minutes in advance so I wouldn't have to wait!! Michael was very professional and very honest with me and he fixed my problem quickly and at a fair price. I will call them again!!!
