I had been going to another vet for years until I finally had it with their nickel and diming me and not catching cancer in my dog when it was just in for a check up. My neighbor referred me to Dr Cat. He had two dogs and I have five. He and his wife really like her. So I made an appointment and thoroughly was impressed with my visit. I found Cr. Cat knowledgeable and up to date with new methods regarding animals. Her staff was also professional and very kind. So now all of my dogs have made the visit(s) and we are all happy with Dr Cat and her staff. I am so glad I found her. I would not go anywhere else. I have found here you are not herded in and out like cattle but treated as a client and not a number.

I brought my cat in on Friday. He had not eaten and was driking like crazy. turns out my cat was diabetic. I did not know cats got that. Dr. Dickler came in all weekend to work on my cat. "Sassy" is doing great know and i realy feel that Dr. D saved her life. She is doing well know and i treat her daily for her diabeties. I definately would recomend the Hospital. also the staff was very caring, especially the lady up front.

My dog Scooby (yes Scooby)fell down the stairs being clumsy as usual. He would not walk on his leg. Dr. Dickler was closing but agreed to stay after hours to see him. Xrays were taken and she did emergency surgery. He is doing great again. I am so happy I went to American Heritage. They went the extra mile for me and my dog.

I am not much for doing internet reviews but after Wiskers fell off the washing machine I was devistated. Dr. Murray was working that day and took great care of Wiskers. They did a quick x-ray to determine a minor fracture. I really appreciated immediate attention and all the caring staff. I highly recomend this Animal Hospital. Dr. Dickler's son who is about 8 now also helps out after school also which reminds me of when I was a working mom and had to deal with my 3 kids and hold a job. I don't know how she does it all. This is a great family business and not a "mega clinc" which I like.

I'm happy when my doggie is happy. And that is why I always take her to Dr. Dickler. She not only takes care of my hound, but also makes sure that I know what is happening and what I should be doing to take the best care of my dog. I found Dr. Dickler after 3 other vet offices proved to be lacking in warmth and caring for both pet and owner. Thanks for all that you do for me and my hound Dr. Dickler!!

I recently moved across Atlanta, but I still make the drive to take the dog to American heritage because this is a great doctor and a great clinic. Dr Shelley Dickler at American Heritage is a great doctor. She not only helps in the traditional medical sense, but she also recommends diet and exercise when needed. The staff at this hospital is very friendly, and I have also boarded my dog there. My dog has long suffered from skin conditions, and I was convinced it was mange, but the good Doctor convinced me that my dog was actually reacting to low quality food. A change in diet at the Dr's suggestion did the trick, and my dog is no longer losing his fur. She also helped him when he had an infection, and the dog seems to like her a lot. I recently moved across Atlanta, but I still make the drive to take the dog to American heritage because this is a great doctor and a great clinic. I recommend this to my friends and neighbors. GiGi had gastro problems that another vet could not diagnose and said was just nothing. Dr. Dickler did some lab work and xray and figured out that GiGi swallowed a cat toy. she did emergency surgery that day. GiGi is doing great now and I beleive that Dr. D saved her life.

I have been going to this vet for years, but after my cat died there I lost confidence in them. I recently had to take my dog in for a cracked tooth - after explaining extenuating circumstances they could not even find it in thier heart to give me a 10% discount or anything, the bill just kept getting higher and higher and when I asked to get the prescription for filling at a pharmacy they charged me another $10 just to write it down!! The dog was taken to DeKalb/Gwinnett Emergency on Sunday and they OFFERED to write -three- prescriptions to save money. Then American Heritage sent me home with my sweet dog with poop on her butt and without even telling me how to take care of her after thier treatment!! I had to go back about this. The ONLY asset they have there is Jeff, he is very friendly and caring. No one else there is. I will NEVER take my animals back to this vet and I recommend you don't either!! All this doctor cares about is the bottom line!

I have used American Heritage for 18 years for many of my pets. They have always done a good job with them and have been there for me when I have needed them. I have to agree that Jeff is particularly good, caring and an excellent communicator. I think that Michelle is a competent and caring Vet. I do think that perhaps she might just be a bit shy face to face. I found the clinic's email address and emailed her about my puppy and she got back to me within an hour with a response. It was very detailed and she answered all of my questions and invited me to email her with any other questions that I might have. I don't think she means to put peole off, I think maybe she is just either shy or busy, but she does communicate very well via email.

I agree with bullymom 100% except I do not know Dr. Murry. Jeff is wonderful, the staff is great. Dr. Dickler is rude and appears unfeeling towards the owners of the pets but caring for the pet. She lets Jeff do the talking which is probably a good idea. In most cases, it just plain appears that she wouldn't give the time of day to the owner who is conerned about their pet and paying the bill. Over-priced, not full service, Dr. Dickler waited way too long to refer my pet to a specialist. I don't know if my pet could have been saved if she was refered to the specialist 6 months or a year earlier. But many repeat visits and dollars later, my baby died. All I wanted was the best treatment possible by a caring physicisian who would, as a part of her nature, not just her job, speak directly to her clients with genuine caring. If it were not for Jeff, I would have quit going there a long time ago. In retro-spect, I should have gotten a second opinion much sooner. Dr. Dickler needs charm school or perhaps she could learn a lot from Jeff.

I had brought both my dogs and my cat there. I had a very bad first visit with my cat with Dr. Murray. Very rude and uncaring, did not listen when I was was speaking about issues. The vet tech Jeff was very kind and did answer my concerns. I decided to try again with my dog. I had several issues after surgery, but as always Jeff was the utmost professional and answered my questions. I then took my other dog and just about everything that could go wrong did. Dr. Dickler was not very caring and showed little reguard for the pain and suffering my dog went through. I would not bring any animal there again. I do think that the staff is overall is very good, but The two Dr's are not the most caring. Also after taking my animals to other clinics I found american heritage to have rates that were higher. I really would pay any price for good care but I saddly did not find this to be the place.

I had to stop using American Heritage Animal Hospital when I moved, but I really miss Dr. Dickler and the staff at American Heritage. They always took very good care of my cats. This is an office that truly cares about animals and they will bend over backwards to keep your pets healthy or nurse them back to health.

Caring, knowledgeable, and attentive staff. They show a love for your animal and interact well with them. Great service and care at an affordable price. Great for boarding. Large runs for $13 a day.
