I'm a mother of 5, looking for an affordable eye exams for 1 of my children which needs glasses. The location I went to was on Roswell Road Marietta, GA. I was pleasent and everyone was nice. Once my child was seen, the upcharging began. I said no to everything. We picked out 2 for 69.95 glasses. When were ringing out. The cost was 300 plus dollars for 2 pair and 200 plus dollars for 1 pair! What?! What happened to the 2 for 69.95 glasses? Oh, your child have a higher prescription therefore a higher price. This a total bait and switch. If I knew it would be more money, I wouldn't have came in. I think everyone who comes in have a "higher prescription"! It left a bad taste in my mouth, I came right home to right a review about it. ASK questions before the exam!!! I paid 45 dollars for the exam and left. Buyer Be Aware, are words to live by!

I have no complaint about the glasses themselves. I imagine they are as good as any comparably priced glasses from other stores. But that is the catch. They market big-time the "two for $69.99" deal to get the gullible in the door, with big posters all over the store. But the real price for decent glasses is written nowhere. Once you're hooked in and had the eye exam, the salesperson lets you know that the advertised glasses are really substandard [crack easily, scratch easily, not as well made] and the upgrade is a much better deal, the price only being quickly mumbled, not clearly written out. But then they also catch you with the gimmick that if you want the better quality - or what would really be just appropriate quality in an ethically run business - the cost is significantly higher. And the way they arrange the pricing, if you want just one pair instead of two to try to save money, by the time you add in the extra cost for the exam and other fees, it ends up being about three times the advertised cost. The whole thing is a cleverly concocted, manipulative money scam. They know exactly what they are doing. All in all I would rather have paid the same price at a business that is straight-forward about the cost and doesn't insult the customers with this cynical game.

My wife need eye exam and we found this store give away FREE exam with 2 pairs of eyeglasses purchase for $69.99. This is apply to their lowest price frame which is price for $49.99. We found that nothing is match to her taste, so we decide to take higher price frame. The trick is you can't just choose any frame you want. You have to select frame with no "premium lenses" required. Otherwise they will bump up the price to $200/set. Short story, we have good experience with the doctor. Very professional but as other said, they charge extra $15 for doing the pre-exam test, which never mention before. Not a very good practice. When comes to purchase, the sales person trying to get us buying their premium lens which cost $132 alone. We insist don't want to upgrade the lens. We have no idea how the standard lens looks like but figure if not good, we can always purchase the upgrade lens later somewhere else. Bottom line, if you are looking for one stop shopping including eye exam, this is maybe the place to go. Just keep in mind to hold your ground; don't accept their offer to buy their expensive lenses. If you are looking for better deal, just do the eye exam ($45 + $15) in here or else where. Then go to online retailer where you can find real dirt cheap designer frame with excellent quality of glasses for fraction of price. btw, we went to the store in barrett parkway. Larry Cohen is the optometrist.

Horrible customer service. Rude people. Trying to get out of there for the advertised price is nearly impossible. They try to "upsell" you beginning with your exam! One of the test that my previous doctor always included would have been $15 dollars extra at AB. Once I did convince them that I would only pay the advertised price, they literally did not say another word to me other than asking me for my credit card and saying they would call me in a week.

Friendly ,professional staff.Although very busy they took their time explaining all options and pricing and helped in our frame selection. I chose not to get the 2 for $69 but it was based off what I feel I wanted and needed. I did have the option. Very pleased. Everyone I came in contact with smiled and the store mgr followed up with to see if I had questions or concerns. After I picked up my glasses they called to make sure they were perfect and thank me for my buiness!A+

I signed up for the 3 year contract thing. I ordered my glasses and they got the wrong twice but Josh the manager was very nice and got then to me finally. I have never had any trouble with the folks that work there. They have all been plesant.

Got my eyes examined. Went back to pick up a trial and asked about follow-up. Was told I was fine and did not see the doctor. When I ran out of the trial I asked about my prescription. Doctor would not sign off until I came in (which I couldn't do at the moment). Explained to them that I would come in but just needed something to get through to the next day and that I had already come in and was told I didn't need to. Doctor gets on the phone and asks me how is he supposed to know if I did it right? I asked him, "did what right?" He says since I'm a non-compliant patient its not his problem if I don't have contacts. I say I am not non-complaint -- I already came in and was told I was fine and now I just want my prescription for the SAME contacts I have been using a year. Nurse/tech/receptionist gets on the phone and tells me she will call the original doctor who is on vacation and will call me back. No call back; no prescription; no contacts -- no way to see except wear my last daily pair for the 3rd day in a row (they were closed on Sunday). I also told them that if they had returned my call earlier I would have come in. I expect that the staff might speak rudely but never expected it of the optometrist. Their deals on the eye exams are not worth it. I spent 99 for 3 years of eye exams but without a prescription I just threw the money away it seems. The optometrist's name is Dr. Lavin (I hope the spelling is right).

Got my prescriptions wrong on my glasses and tried to blame it on how they were outside prescription. Im wondering, what does that have to do with anything? My exam results would be same here as anywhere else. They put my glasses in the machine to see if its the right prescription and 3 different individuals had to take turns to do it to make sure its right or not. Not a surprise all 3 said they were correct. So i told them fine, its correct so how come i cant see out of it? I just bought a pair of bifocals from them less than 3 weeks prior. Those pair were perfect so how can my second pair be so blurry. And these new pair were just for my distant vision. So they set an appointment for me and i went. AMBER called me back and started to check my eyes and before anything i told her I didnt need an eye exam. and she asked me in the most rudest possible way " then why are you here??" I was so amazed to how this person still have a job here. I explained why and she still tried to blame it on my outside prescription. So she takes it to one of the doctors, im guessing. He puts it in the machine and comes back and said the numbers were put in wrong and the math came out incorrect. and while he was trying to explain to me what happened he asked for amber and not to my surprise, she was outside on her cellphone. Half the staff there are Great and the other half just need to put in their two weeks notice. In all i would recommend trying another location.

As the doctor at the Kennesaw Location, I felt that the public needed to hear the other side of the story to the comments made by 777faithfulfollower: "the Dr. flat-out refused to see him saying only we don't service "any" handicapped children." The patient's mother was informed that her son had "special needs" that were beyond my personal skill level. As a general practitioner, I have a deep responsibility to make certain that all patients seen, receive the highest level of care available. If a specialist is needed, the patient is informed in a very warm and compassionate manner. After being very distraught over the mother's reaction to my judgment,I followed up with a phone call that night to try once again to explain my views, only to be hung up on. Thank-you for considering my response and I hope you will consider our office for your future eye care needs. L.Cohen

We purchased 3-3yr plans for our family members except our son who'd recently been examined. Later, when we took our son to his scheduled exam at the Barrett Pkwy GA office (after I went in to ask ?'s days prior) the Dr. flat-out refused to see him saying only we don't service "any" handicapped children. I had explained in-person that our son has had many exams with no problems and perfect vision. Their manager & home office did nothing and didn't care!!! When our prepaid 2nd year check-up rolled around we tried the Roswell Rd GA location and the Dr's exam results were wrong. The cost for one pair of "stylish" glasses with all their "extra" costs added was almost $200 MUCH more than the alluring offer for 2 pair. Upon returning to get our contact exams re-done/corrected, the contact fitter told me that eye Dr. we saw was only in on Thursdays and to be SURE not to ever come back on Thursdays because there were many problems with her exams, really? "After" all the money spent for 3 yr. plans+ paying almost $200 for one pair (which when they came in looked awful and had to be re-ordered)+ not being able to have our whole family seen + re-exams and re-ordered trial pairs which were not in-stock for trial... after all this we have no contacts still and have spent hundreds. With many calls we're still waiting over 3 wks now for our "partial" refund. Americas "Best" seems "BEST" at bad attitudes (home office and down),unjust discrimination, ?able pricing & bad Dr's.

Horrible! I needed a Rx faxed to a different eyeglass retailer--I was buying glasses at 6PM--not uncommom. After I called once for assistance, they took the phone off the hook the last 30 mins of the day (at 6:30) & hung it back up right at 7 when they were closing and couldn't help me! Very suspicious that the multi-line phone was busy from 6:30-7 and then went to a "closed" voicemail message at 7PM sharp. I couldn't leave a message--the mailbox was full! So I still haven't been able to order my new glasses. I attempted to call the office mgr "Maria" twice the next day to complain--after 2 messages left for her and no return call, I'm taking my business elsewhere. "Miracle" is RUDE--you should not be answering the phones! Bottom line--the staff DO NOT care about you, your eyes, or your business. I will happily pay more somewhere else!

I am surprise this place is still in business. I don't think anyone in there knows what they're doing. Besides that, the staff was rude and unprofessional with the exception of the visual tech and the doctor. My 8 year old made me promise never to take her back. They grabbed her arm and called her girl. Her glasses which they supposedly fixed was not and I had to take the time out of my schedule to take her elsewhere. Sometimes the saving is worth it. In this case, it is not. You will no doubt end up paying more in the long-run.

This place is just too busy. Even if you have an appointment you still have to wait. If you change your name they will never find your file again. I continue to go for the price, but go through the hassle every time of them looking for my file. It's a good thing that I can order my contacts online. Good prices and staff.
