He may be in an historic building, but his techology is the latest! Dr. Softley and his staff are caring, kind and patient. They work with you and your insurance to provide a reasonable treatment plan. They are sensitive to your tolerance and pain levels which also helps lower stress. He's the best dentist we've had in 20 years!

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Softley. I'm a big (uninsured) scaredy cat when it comes to the dentist. From the moment I walked in the door until the moment I left, I felt at ease and cared for. Dr. Softley and his staff (thanks for the hugs Rose!) went above and beyond in calming me. It truly helps to have a dentist with a gentle touch and one who is soft spoken. He explained my options and we worked out the plan that would be best. And I am loving my new smile!!! The quality of care and material is excellent, the service was awesome and the value... exceptional!! KUDOS!

I had a horrible experience. Just because I was not insured, the dentist tried to send me to a endodontist to figure out if the root was dead cause he could not relate the cause of my toothache. He also told me I needed filling for the next tooth. Xray and examine took 1 hr 15 min apprx. I didnt like the way they worked, I was very upset when i was leaving cause he did nothing else than sending me to another dentist. I did not have insurance, so I wonder if he would still do that if I had an insurance company questioning the charge of another dentist.By the time He finished his so called advices and referral to another " honest " dentist, it was already 1 hr 15 min, no time left to do any filling. I left with the feeling of distrust. I cant believe I believed this website and spend that much money for nothing in a denstist office who practically did nothing else than sending me to another dentist.

We apologize for any confusion that may have arisen. Our initial examination with x-rays takes a little over an hour. That way we can be thorough, accurate, and have enough time to discuss our diagnosis and treatment options. It was my opinion that this patient's primary discomfort arose from an infected tooth that needed treatment by an endodontist. In certain cases, it is best for us to refer a patient to a dental specialist in order to confirm a diagnosis, or to perform procedures which require additional skills, training, or equipment in order to be performed to the highest standards.
I have nothing but nice things to say about Dr. Softley and Schoolhouse Dentistry. Dr. Softley is gentle, soft spoken and comforting which is a must when it comes visiting the dentist. He works with me to make sure I am receiving the best and latest dental care available. I particularly like the laser treatment that is available when needed. His office is clean and inviting. I am able to bring my children in and he and his staff are very accommodating. An office staff can either make or break any doctor's office, and this office staff has made every visit enjoyable. They are warm and knowledgeable. I feel very comfortable in this office. I also like that they are involved in the community. I wouldn't be surprised to run into any of them at the soccer field on Saturday or in the grocery store some evening. I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Softley to anyone who is in need of a great dentist!

Schoolhouse Dentistry was a serendipitous find three years ago! What a dentist and staff! Currently, my whole family is taken care of by Dr. Softley and his staff. We first met Dr. Softley when my three daughters were aged 2, 4, and 5. Dr. Softley had such a wonderful chair side manner; it put my children (and my husband) immediately at ease. I am very impressed with his patient caring manner. The staff is fantastic as well. Over these three years, we have had to change our dental insurance many times and the office staff has always been very helpful. I highly recommend Schoolhouse Dentistry as a complete family dental office.

Our company has a lot of employees who see Dr. Softley. We have all had very positive experiences. The staff are very friendly, and the old schoolhouse is pretty cool.

The front office staff is very patient about billing questions and asking the right questions to see what type of service you need and how soon you need to get in. There are several hygenists and all are good. Personally I have a very small mouth and it is very hard to work on, Dr. Softley is very patient and sensitive to alleviating any discomfort; it probably took him 3 times as long to do a crown for me as it does for most people. A real plus is he offers laser treatment for certain conditions; although I have not had to utilize this personally other family members have and were quite satisfied.
