My dachsund delivered puppies on Friday. On Monday, she was anorexic, listless...it was after hours for my vet, so I took her here. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis, $400 later! If they had kept her overnight, it wouldv'e been $1000!!! I took her to my regular vet the next day, and found her uterus had ruptured and she had peritonitis!!! WRONG diagnosis, WAY too much $$$. These people are only in it for the money, and prey on people who are afraid for the lives of their beloved pets. I, for one, are disgusted at their immoral ways. They even charged me $50 to dispose of used syringes. This should be a clue to anyone...only take your pet there if you have nowhere else to go.

We have unfortunately had to use Animal Emergency Center of Decatur several times, for our own dogs and for foster dogs. Luckily all our experiences have been fantastic. Doing rescue work we have a lot of supplies at home and so far they have been fine with us declining stuff we know we've got. Some may find the vets a bit brisk, but it is an ER and there are some pretty busy times. Their new facility is very nice and the staff is friendly and attentive. We never feel like we're getting pressured or ripped off. They always email or call the next day to follow up and are very quick to transfer records over to our regular vet.

Our 1 year old beagle got bit by something early on Sunday morning when our usual vet wasn't open and we were concerned it might have been a snake. We took her to the Decatur Emergency Center, they took her right in, took care of her, took care of us, and didn't charge us any more than if we'd had an emergency visit to our regular vet -- that is, more than a regular visit, but not ridiculously so. Luckily it wasn't a snake bite and she's fine. One of the nicest things was that they emailed me the next day to check on her, which I really appreciated. It's great to know that they are available when our usual vet isn't. I would highly recommend them.

Our 16 yr. old Am Staff woke us to tell us something was wrong. We rushed him over to the new center in Decatur. The news was not good, he had seen his last days. I can't iterate enough how kind and compassionate the staff was. Dr. Spivey and staff let us spend as much time with him as we needed, explained everything in detail and guided us most appropriately. We recieved a heart felt card from them a couple days later. For our saddest day, they certainly helped put us and our minds at ease.
