Our staff of trained, dedicated, and caring professionals (headed by Dr. Michael Wishnack) offers the highest quality emergency and critical care services. Our Doctors and Staff regularly attend continuing education courses and seminars to keep up with the latest.. in veterinary medicine.
We are proud to be in the unique position of being a family-owned-and-run hospital. We have a compassionate, experienced Staff who have dedicated themselves to caring for beloved pets in need of urgent care. We appreciate your confidence in allowing us to care for your pets.
We are open 365 nights a year, and 24 hours/day on weekends and holidays:
Monday thru Thursday, 5:00 p.m (for transfers and early checkins).- 8:00 a.m. the following morning (Doctor on premises at 6:00);
Friday 5:00 p.m. thru Monday morning 8:00 a.m.
We have taken both of our labs there over the last 10 years. All visits have been because of urgent issues that could not wait until our normal vet opened but were not life or death situations. We have found the vets and staff to be friendly and helpful. I will agree that they are way overpriced. They kind of have you 'over a barrel' as they say meaning your dog needs the treatment and your normal vet isn't open so your choices are limited. They know that and charge way too much for simple treatments.

Yes, they are expensive... but my little guy is worth the world to me and just knowing that we have a place to take him in the event of an emergency is worth any price to me. We've used the Animal Hopsital several times with several pets and have never had a bad experience.

I felt like I was held hostage when my dog was attacked by another dog and my regular vet was closed so I was forced to take her here to save her. The work they did was good, but the price they charged was absolutely ridiculous. My total bill here was over $3000 for one night and then they told me to take her to my regular vet. Try your best to avoid, IMO.

I can't say enough about this emergency clinic! The other negative comments don't even make any sense!! We brought our dog to this clinic when he was bit by a rattlesnake a few months ago, and our family found everyone there to be very caring and concerned not only about our dog, but about us, as well. Our dog was in bad shape when we brought him in and we thought he was going to die. They saved his life, and because of their good medicine and care, our beloved dog is alive and healthy. We will definitely go back there if we ever have another emergency with any of our animals, and would recommend them very highly!

My dog had bleeding gastritis from spolied food. They hosp, gave I V fluids and meds. Gave us one price for 6 hrs, but tried to stall us when we wanted to retrieve pet, and then switched when they told us that 8 p.m. was considered overnight, and changing their shifts every 3 hrs, enables them to double and triple charge. They chared $20 for 2 pills of Pepcid and $20 for 5 pills of Flagyl sent home with us. We bacically spent over $600 for I V fluid and a few injections of meds.

Both times I had to take my dog here, she was treated horribly, and one time she was just a puppy, and had been stung by a bee and she was treated like a vicious animal just because she's a rottweiler, even though she never did anything but wiggle. I also felt like they were doing everything they could to run up the bill. I mentioned her treatment there to my regular vet, and they said they have heard numerous complaints. If you have any choice at all, take your animals somewhere else. I know I will.

I took my dog here when he had an obstruction, which is a foreign body stuck in his intestines. They took x-rays and confirmed what he had, they put him on fluids through the night and told me that they would save me money by helping him pass it. Instead, I ended up paying about $700 here and they did nothing for him. The next morning they told me to take him to my regular vet for the surgery. I could have taken him to my regular vet and had the surgery and saved the $700, and my dog suffered through the night. Would not recommend unless you have NOWHERE else to go

The Vet here was not friendly at all. I took my dog in who is a pure breed Min. Pin. and she asked me if I was sure she was pure breed. She also said she may just have problems from birth. She did not like the fact that my sister and mom came in and when they asked what was going on she said "I am sure she can handle it on her own." (as in me) They said the total would be about $1400!! We took Bella my dog to the Pet Emergency and Specialty Vet on Jackson which my total was $400. They were so much more kind and considerate. The front desk girl told my sister she was old when she say her ID. (26 is not old.) They also talked down on their competition and said they would be more expensive. STAY AWAY FROM HERE!! It will do you well. :)

Dr. Wishnack and staff are very professional and caring. Dr. Gunderson in particular stands out. Not only is she a knowledgable and skilled veterinarian, she has the people skills to put the owners at ease in their time of need. Highly recommended.

I took my dog to them and they treated him great. They really seem like they cared about the animal not there wallets. I would definately recommend them to anyone.
