Great doctor and staff
Dr. King and her staff have been seeing 2 of my kitties over the past 2 years, and they have been nothing but wonderful throughout.

The biggest complaint here on Kudzu seems to be that there is often a wait. That is true, I think, especially for new patients - it seems to me that Dr. King tries to see routine recheck appointments first so that she can really focus/spend time with new patients. There are only a couple of vet eye specialists in the metro so, yes, they do stay very busy. And, yes, emergencies, whether existing or new patients, always take priority, as they should; most regular vets are just not qualified and trained to treat significant eye disease or injuries. (If time is a concern, you'll invest a lot more time having to travel to one of the vet teaching hospitals to get the same level of care!)

Also, as someone who has worked in the veterinary field, I know that a good support team is as important to the relationship as the doctor. In that regard, I can't say enough about the AES office staff and techs. They are knowledgeable, concerned and caring, and always such a pleasure to deal with.

For those of us who love our animals, and seek out the best care, we are very fortunate to have Dr. King here in the ATL metro.

Wonderful Doctor and Facility
The Atlanta/Cobb area is indeed fortunate to have Dr. King. She is simply the best. I trust her completely with the care and treatment of my Pug. She has a commitment to patient care and healing that is unmatched. The only negative comments have been the wait times. Doesn't that tell you something? She spends the time needed with each patient to make sure they get nothing but the best of care. All things considered, the extra time spent waiting for her expertise is time well spent.

If you want the best care for your pet....
you can't really put a time limit on the wait. YES, everyone's time is valuable, but if your animal is in danger of loosing his sight, can you really put a time limit on getting them help? Our 1 year old ShihTzu scraped a hole in his eye last Spring. It was the worst thing I had ever seen and he was in a lot of pain. Through Dr. King's excellent surgical training, she was able to save his eyesight to 70% in that eye. She also discovered that he has an extra set of eyelashes which were damaging his other eye every time he blinked his eyes. Thankfully, she was able to address this situation before he went blind. Sometimes emergency situations arise like mine, and I would certainly be willing to wait while Dr. King tended to an animal quickly that needed immediate attention. Even if she looses a few impatient human clients, she remains dedicated to helping the ones most in need first.

Professionally compassionate
Wait, maybe, but they're taking good care of my most proud possession. Well worth the wait. Dr. King treated our dog for an eye ailment very sucessfully over time. Extremely knowledgeable and professional. Because of an unrelated condition, recently we had to put our dog asleep (traumatic), so we called Dr. King's office to cancel the next scheduled appointment. The next day, a beautiful arrangement of flowers arrives with a sympathy note from Dr. King and her staff. That's a sign of her deep concern and love she has for her "customers", our loved pets! Wonderful, caring people!

Cancel your plans for the day
HORRIBLE WAIT! It makes absolutely no sense. I scheduled an appointment for 2:45pm, arrived at 2:20. At around 4pm I finally asked how much longer would it be. I didn't mind the wait, but update me as time passes. The receptionist said she would find out and let me know never did. I asked again and she said 2-3 people were in front of me. Soon after she said one person was in front of me or maybe I would be next. I saw 4 additional people go inside. I thought I was next? I waited until 5:15 and finally just left.
I understand eye vets are limited in Atlanta, however, I will pay more for another vet who values my time. After I left they called to say I could drop my dog off and pick her up after they performed the eye exam. I declined. Then they called again, I did not answer so they left a message. Haven't checked it yet....
