Referred to AMSC by a friend for my maltese's ACL surgery - doctors are extremely knowledgeable. Gave a clear understanding of everything involved and surgery went great...continues to be a great experience everytime!I pass alot of clinics to get there but its well worth the drive

I'm usually not a person that writes reviews but I had to for our last visit with Dr. Tarabula and Animal Medical and Surgical Center. My dog was boarding there during my vacation and we got a call saying the kennel worker noticed that Lady was drinking alot of water, going to the bathroom more than she should, and not her normal self. They asked if they could send off a blood sample to make sure everything was ok. It wasn't! It showed she was diabetic! Dr. Tarabula started her on insulin and had her feeling better by the time we got back to pick her up 4 days later. And they didn't mind my calling several times everyday to check on her. We don't have human kids so our dogs are our babies and I would recommend this hospital to anyone. All of the staff genuinely cares and the doctors left us with a very clear understanding of how to treat Lady.

Had to do surgery on our 8 yr old Sheltie dog and Dr. Duprel did an excellent job. The price was nearly %75 less expensive than the other surgeons and they seem to sincerely care about my dog. I wish they were closer, but they are worth making a 50 mile drive from. Highly recommended!

Very disappointed with the quality of Service and high prices. Not to mention that the Vet or his staff never returns phone calls, even though knowing that you need their follow up with your ill pet. Gold Diggers is the right description.

This is a family run business and it shows....in the compassion and caring of our pets and us...we feel our dogs get excellent veteniary care..no matter the issue...Dr Terabula is a wonderful surgeon...he and his staff are more capable of handling emergency situations and surgery than the emergency clinic one has to go to on weekends...as we just experienced this last week. We have been in the area for 4-5 years and used AMC from the beginning...all 4 vets at this clinic are suburb, as is the staff.

I live in Atlanta, but while visiting family in Canton one of my parrotlets fell to the ground, limp, after flying into a glass door. I was very worried about his condition and began calling vets in the area. Since it was a holiday weekend, most vets were too busy (one office even told me the earliest the could see me was two days later). The staff at AMSC were immediately helpful and asked important questions about my bird's condition. They were able to see me right away. Dr. Tarabula was very knowledgable about birds (he has some of his own as well). He was very gentle with my little parrotlet (who only weighs 28 grams). I'm willing to drive from Atlanta to make Dr. Tarabula our primary bird vet.

(see also same review that I gave Dr Tarabula, individually) AMENDED in 2009: Not sure how comfortable I am, lately, with their billing and pharmacy practices, or the level of concern or sensitivity of some staff. I'm noting it here, and will update if the situation changes. Just be careful. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = ORIGINAL review: I recently wanted to switch vets for my aging dog because the place I was going was a little too far and costly every time I went. I've known about Dr Tarabula for the 15 years I've lived here, but never tried him, for some reason. I was nervous about switching, but the first visit went a long way to making sure sure I made a good choice. He diagnosed (correctly) the reason for my dog's visit in about the first minute. He then, however, went on to spend at least 1/2 hour with us, talking about his health in general, and offering options for things we could do to keep him in good health. I've never had a vet so excited to talk about my dog, or who spent as much time with him. I was worried that all that time would cost me, big time, but it didn't. The bill for the visit was extremely reasonable. The facility is quite new, they don't have any objection to you looking around, there's plenty of room, and everyone's really nice and willing to answer questions.

I took my family's pets to board before our trip - 3 dogs and 2 cats (what a car ride). The staff at AMASC helped me get all the animals out easily and had places for each of them, labeled and ready. The dog area is very clean and organized. The cat room is absolutely gorgeous! They have a mural on the wall, plenty of windows set up so the cats can see outside and cat condos with holes so the cats can play around in different levels. My Shiba had better digs there than at home. Very impressed!

I bring both my pets to Animal Medical Surgical Center and I am always pleased with the great, consistent service I receive. I've had a chance to speak with all the doctors there and they are top notch. Even though times are tough for our family, I want the best for my "children." Simply put...AMASC is the best and I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else.

Everyone there loves the animals and cares about them. They remember who you are and ask about your other pets when you come in. Very very clean, and have separate areas for dogs and cats. HIGHLY recommend!!

I board my 2 pugs at the Animal Medical and Surgical Center and often get them groomed while I am gone. I know my puppies are comfortable and get the attention they deserve. My neighbor also takes her cat to AMASC and she said they have a beautiful cat room with condos, windows and a mural - separate from the dog room.

When I go to any doctors office, I want cleanliness, excellent service and state of the art treatment. This office had it all. I was amazed at how current the doctors were on trends and treatment. The staff was also trained and caring. My pups have never received better care and treatment.

Both my parents and I use AMASC for all our pet's care. Between our 2 families we have 2 birds, 2 dogs and 3 cats. The doctors specialize in exotic animals. I've seen owls, deer, snakes and lizards . The staff has always made my family feel welcome and always finds time for us. I highly recommend!
