Made an appointment to come between 1-5. Never showed up, no phone call, nothing. We called close to 5 to ask about status. We were immediately put on hold. Made an appointment to come between 1-5. Never showed up, no phone call, nothing. We called close to 5 to ask about status. We were immediately put on hold. After 15 min. of waiting on hold, called again, got recording that they were closed. This kind of unprofessionalism is not acceptable.
After getting the run around from A&E, we BEGGED for an alternative for a warranty repair on our dishwasher. Our call was sent to Appliance Doctor of Atlanta. The appointment was scheduled through the warranty department, and confirmed by Appliance Doctor. Right on schedule Devon (who is AWESOME) arrived. Diagnosed the problem and explained it to me. While he has to order a part, it arrived ahead of schedule and was back to repair the dishwasher sooner than expected. We saw that same issue (all under warranty)a few times, and each time we requested Appliance Doctor. We learned from Devon that he had done the research, and they were now carrying the part that we needed, so outside of the initial service call, the repair was made immediately. In fact the last call was placed on a Friday. I was hoping for a Monday service call, but was offered Saturday - I was thrilled. I was shocked when 30 minutes later Devon knocked on the door! He was in our neighborhood and didn't see the point in not stopping by!
I told them on the phone what was wrong with my dryer. They came unequipped, told me they would order a part and install the next day, not only did they NOT install the next day, they didn't even order the part until the next week. I asked to speak to the manager and he didn't even care at all at the service delivered. Found another company who solved the problem in one day.

We just used the Appliance Doctor today to repair our dishwasher. I would highly recommend them, especially Keith Kittrell, the technician that did our work. He was prompt, neat, friendly and courteous, and very knowledgeable. He resolved our problem and was in and out in less that an hour. We are very satisfied and would definitely use them again should the need arise.
The Appliance Doctor is the largest privately owned repair firm in Atlanta, and one of the largest in the country. They have been in business for 32 years, and complete around 30,000 service calls a year and have hundreds of thousands of satisfied customers. They are not the cheapest, but stand behind their work with a lifetime warranty on parts and a year on labor. There are about 35 reviews posted on this cite, spanning the last 3 years. If only 35 people out of 90,000 are dissatisfied, I would say you're running a pretty good show. I've been using them for years and do not trust anybody else. Don't let the reviews fool you... There will always be a problem here and there with a big operation like theirs, and those are the only people who post comments. These guys are honest and dependable
When I called the Appliance Doctor I did not realize the work should be covered under my Whirlpool product warranty. As my two days worth of service calls progressed I started to feel like I was being taken advantage of. After a call directly to Whirlpool confirming that the work should be under warranty I called TAD. They were not helpful at all (of course they had already cashed my check). I called again and again. No one would call me back and return my $300. Finally I called Whirlpool to let them know what was going on. The Appliance Doctor was taking my money and the money from Whirlpool (since it was actually warranty work). They finally (after 15 days) refunded my $300.
I was weary of trying them after reading the reviews, but our fridge stopped cooling so we had to get it fixed. They were early, called ahead of time, nice, and fixed the problem quickly and now my fridge is back to normal. Not sure what others would have charged for the same thing and how they are with other appliances, but he was very familiar with our Whirlpool / Amana fridge.
Consumers watch out for this company! They came out to repair my ice maker and whirlpool dryer. The first day they fixed the ice maker no problem. I was billed $330 with the understanding of a return visit to fix the dryer (because they did not have the part in stock) and this return visit would cost $223. When the company returned they said they had made a mistake on the part number. It was the whole computer board that had to be replaced not sure how you can mix that up but the day they returned they said oh we made a mistake you will actually have to pay $350 to repair your dryer because the other part is more expensive. The great thing is they could immediately go get this part and install it the same day. Really? If there is an honest company out there that would like to rescue me please call me at 404-886-4232.
The first trip, they came out, looked at my oven, and said "Yes, your panel controls are broken" as if that's not exactly how I described it. They needed to order a part. What a waste of my time staying home from work. Next week, I was home from work waiting for them to show up when they called and said, "Sorry, the part didn't come in today. We'll have to reschedule when it arrives." Waste of my time again. They made it sound like this was a common occurrence that they weren't bothered by. ("Sometimes our supplier tells us they sent the part but didn't actually send it.") Three days later, having not heard anything, I called to check on the status of the part. They said, "It hasn't arrived yet. We should have it by next Wednesday", which would be 9 days after they first expected it. Luckily, they called later that afternoon and said it came in, and scheduled an appointment for the next day. So only 4 days late in the end. My repair was under manufacturer warranty, so I can't say anything about the price.
My experience with the Appliance Doctor was much different than all the reviews I just read here. My initial appt. was made thru Whirlpool as it was warranty work. The Appliance Dr. then called and confirmed the appt. The technician (Devon) called when he was on his way and showed up exactly when I was told he would. He diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. The woman in the office called when the part came in and scheduled the next appt. right away. Once again Devon came out as scheduled, replaced the part in a professional and timely manner. He also helped me with my frig while he was here. He went above and beyond what was expected, and I would definitely use this company in the future! (I would also request Devon if possible).
Scheduled service through Whirlpool for my washer. Wish I had read the reviews before choosing them. I took a half day off work for their 12-5 appointment window. At 4pm I called to ask when they'd be coming, and was told my work order had been printed but never made it to the schedule. Then they said they'd come back 2 days later when their next appointment was available as if I hadn't scheduled my appointment on a certain day for a reason. Choose another company that will respect your time. This one will not.
Confirmed dishwasher install for today. I called them to re-confirm this a.m. and found out that technician I requested declined to do it leaving me with uninstalled appliance sitting in garage. Very disappointed but relieved that Plumbworks could do install this afternoon!
Made appointment almost a week in advance...day of they were to be there 1-5...would call 30 minutes ahead...3 PM had heard nothing...called the office...he would be there...running a little late...515 PM nothing...called the office...closed...what a way to run a business...I just hope consumers ban together and put this guy out of business.
