There have been some issues with the animal hospital but generally I feel comfortable leaving my pets there for boarding. The vets are kind and gentle and explain what is being done to care for my pets. Two issues:1. prices are quite high and there is not a lot of leeway in making payment arrangements. 2. The grooming staff and techs need more training in tranquilizing a pet for grooming. For example, making sure the correct dose is given for the size of the pet and reviewing proper technique in giving injections. They must inform the pet owner if there will be a need to tranquilize the pet and get permission before they do. The facility is clean and pleasant and the runs are large and comfortable. I suggest web cams at the center so there can be 24 hour monitoring of the animals especially those in the hospital side.

The office manager changed prices when Dr Hatchett did surgery on my dog that passed away in their care. The rescue dog had a heart condition we did not know about. English Bulldog. But, I arranged for payments to be made and I was making them but I come in one day to pay on my account and the office manager took it upon herself to change the charges and make them higher. Dang I didn't know they could go over the vets head. So when Dr Hatchett left I changed to him at Price Creek Animal Hospital in Breman. He cares about the animal first.. I know vets have to make money. I totally understand that but I was not a stranger to these people. I probally helped pay for everyones vacations as I dealt with resue bulldogs and went to the vet almost once a week. No more. PriceCreek has my business now..

My vet for many years w/ ALL my pets>$$$.They use to work w/me,If I paid $60 but owed $100 they worked w/me & I always paid. Now I have a pet emergency.I called ahead asked about ANY options, they refused ANY assistance.I offered to pay %75 up front, still no help. I'm sad that they won't help for a emergency. BTW I got "dissconnected" when talking to the office Mgr she was ""Busy" when I called back so the groomer told me "Office Mgr. told me to tell you, if you can't pay we can't help". Doc!? Are you okay with this??? I can understand if I hadn't always come to you but...wow, it's an emergency.

I just want everyone to know what type of groomers they have working there. I took my Shih Tzu in around 4 weeks ago for a summer cut, ans when I picked him up the cut was awful! He was shaved beyond recognition!! Then around a week later I noticed a knot forming on his left side. I watched it a few days and decided to take him into my vet to have it checked. What I found out was the most awful thing any pet owner could hear! His Dr informed me that he was more than likely TRANQUILIZED!!! And when the gave him the shot it wasnt done properly and caused infection under the skin which formed a mass of scar tissue. He then gave him a steriod shot which he hopes would dissolve it from the inside, if not it will have to be surgicaly removed! I dont know what the worst part was. The fact of him laying there helpless or them thinking they have the right to treat animals this way!!!!! He wouldnt harm a flea let alone the groomer! BAD BUSINESS!!

We boarded our pets there twice but never agian. We brought home very sad pets. My male dog was even limping, sore and cried out like he had been pulled roughly around his neck....please beware this boarding facility! I have heard we are not the first with this complaint. The hospital side of the business has been great but we will NEVER board them there again. We have taken our business to Price Creek Animal Hospital where Dr. Jonathon Hatchett now works and are more than happy.

The Ark and Dr.Hatchet are the best. They see all of our animals and have been nothing but caring and loving. When out mini dog broke his leg Dr.Hatchet took amazing care of him and us. We love this vet and can not imagine taking our pets anywhere else!

We take all of our four chow chows to Dr. Hatchett. He has operated on one of them twice. He is awesome, and the care that the staff gives during and after surgery is wonderful. Dr. Hatchett also took the time to call an specialist about a condition that our cat had. He goes above and beyond his job to help animals out. Would recommend him to anyone!

I take both of my bundles of joy to the docs at the Ark. They have treated them through car accidents, pancreatitus, and simple things like ear infections. All of the docs and staff are wonderful. They might be a little on the expensive side, but they are worth it! Jodi especially is VERY helpful every time we come in!

A dog showed up on my door step. We took her there to check for a micro chip. Once we saw that she had no chip we told them to check her over to see if there was anything noticably wrong. They said there was nothing wrong with her. We told them to give her her vaccinations and then came back a month later for her boosters and spaiding. After her surgery, she started having pain in her back hip. We took her back and they could not find anythign wrong with her but said they would have to take xrays. I decided to take her somewhere else to get the xrays. They took one look at her hip and showed me how it popped right out of place. The xrays showed hip dyplasia and arthritis. How could the vet at The ARK not see the hip pop out of place. $650 later we had to put our puppy to sleep. I would not use them again.

I have taken my animals (guinea pigs & a dog) to Dr. Bowen and Dr. Hatchett for 7 years now. I would trust them to no other vet. Dr. Bowen and Dr. Hatchett are very kind, conscientous and intelligent. Dr. Bowen at his previous location was the ONLY vet who would see my guinea pig when he was very ill a few years back, none of the other so called animal hospitals in my area would help him & they were rude also. I have always been treated very kind and the staff is wonderful.

We have been using The Ark and Dr. Bowen for about 12 years. They have alway been very professional, helpful and caring. They have the highest quality equipment in the area. Dr. Bowen has been a great help to rescue community and has helped enormously with the blight of homeless pets.

I recently started taking my dog to The Ark after being a long time customer of PetSmart (see PetSmart Hiram review). I've been happy with the service until today. I am currently using The Ark for boarding as we are away on vacation for 2 weeks. I was a little concerned today when I called to check up on my dog and the nurse mentioned that they had been giving my dog his insulin shots each morning. YIKES!!! My dog doesn't take insulin! Although she told me there was another dog there with the same name that was given insulin, she put me on hold (to make sure) and I waited quite a while before someone else picked the call up. This of course alarmed me because they ask for your last name and the name of your pet prior to giving me the report. How could such a mix up occur on the phone (to which the attendant put me on hold to "make sure" and never returned)? How do I know if MY dog wasn't accidentally given a dose or several of insulin during his stay, since in fact the nurse mentioned that there was another dog there with the same name. While this may be an honest mistake, it would have been comforting for me if the original nurse returned to my call (IN A TIMELY FASHION) and properly spoke to me about the mix up. More to come when I pick up my dog!

I have been using Dr Bowen for over 8 years and I have always found him and his staff to be extremely professional and knowledgeable. He and his other vets keep up to date on new medical procedures and treatments. He and his staff have always treated my doggie girls with the upmost care and respect. I would not consider using another vet since I have found the best!
