I am responding to the post referred to as ďRed Eyes.Ē My family has trusted Dr. Hatfield for over 20 years with our pets. I am sure you can imagine the issues that have come along with three Shih... Tzuís and one 4-lb Chihuahua. During these years, we have received nothing but superior service and care from the staff at Ark. I know that Dr. Hatfield and his staff always have my petís best interest at heart. Consequently, Dr. Hatfield would never allow anything to jeopardize the health and safety of his patients by employing anyone on his staff that did not measure up to his high expectations. Have gone to Ark for over 12 years. They are always kind, considerate and caring. Don't know about the wacky negative reviews I read here. I have been going here so long and have had them perform several surgeries on my dog. Never have I had or witnessed the negative things mentioned. I Have witnessed excellent pet care.

Took my dog there signed her in the nurse came to weigh her and I noticed she was high as kite. Having experience as a drug consoler, I'm trained to notice signs of drug use and behavior for the drug free living program I work with. I have heard good things about Dr. Hatfield and thought to give him a shot so as soon as I saw the nurses blood shot glazed over eyes I wanted to leave, but I paid for her shot. Gladly she wasn't I'll our injured I know I wouldn't want my nurse working on me high. I care for my pet enough to not take her back there, and isn't the medical field suppose to drug test

In an attempt to investigate this review I have been unable to determine any validity. Dr. Hatfield
I first started going to Ark about 20 yrs ago when I was a child with my mother and our family German shepherd. As I grew older and moved out of the city, I brought home my first puppy. While I had gone straight to Ark for his initial shots, when I considered taking him there each time for his annual care, living in Scottsdale & driving to Phoenix just didn't make sense. Fast forward to more current, I was planning to board my dog for the 1st time and Petsmart confirmed the shots I needed updated to allow him to be around the other dogs. I was referred to Banfield in Petsmart for the boosters. While I love Petsmart, the people at Banfield were a joke. From the Vets to the receptionist, no one could get it together. It took one phone call back to Ark for them to regain my business. They had all of my dogs initial records, and they were willing to fax me proof of what I needed to support that my dogs shots were up to date. In addition the wait is never long, the staff is always friendly and they get me in and out quickly. The service Iíve had with Ark has been and continues to be exceptional. And for this I will drive 25 miles to ensure my pet, as well as myself, are taken care of. Thanks for all that you do! Wags from Maverick

Our dogs have been patients of Ark for over 10 years now. While they are not the least expensive option, we feel confident about the care our pets have recieved. Both doctors are very compassionate and offer options for treatment. We have been able to work with them on alternatives to preferred treatment recommendations which are usually very comprehen$ive (with the various conditions two of our dogs have had, we have to get the most treatment for our $ and they have been able to help us do that. Also appreciate the fact that they are willing to take the time to answer questions. Over the past several years, wait time has significantly decreased. Not sure how they have accomplished that since we can usually get in when we need to but it is much appreciated because it creates less stress for the dogs to go right into the room and be seen quickly. Also, we really appreciate all the followup calls. They really care about the animals they take care of.

My dog has a couple of problems so I took him to Ark since it was nearby. I told the staff that money was unfortunately a huge issue right now, so I may not be able to just give them carte blanche on treatment. The first treatment was about $100 more than expected. My dog needs a growth removed and I asked for a detailed estimate. I received this by email. I replied to the email asking if I could not have the pathology and xrays done in order to save money. I didn't receive a response so I sent another email, still no response. On the third day I sent another email asking the same information, and I still didn't receive a response so I called the office. I was then informed that they don't check their email. I expressed great surprise at this because I was surprised. They told me their clients call them with questions. I said that was fine, but I like things in writing and just surprised in this day and age that they don't check email when then send email. Anyway, they said they would ask the doctor my question regarding the prices and treatment and call me the next morning. About noon I received a call saying they had the written prescription for me and a letter from Dr Hatfield. The letter said that he did not appreciate me questioning the treatment and the manner in which I questioned it, so he would not treat my dog. Now I know why there is never anyone in the waiting area when I was coming or going.

It is true that we do not check our email on a daily basis. The email account that her estimate was sent from is used mainly as a delivery email. We have made changes to make it clearer that we do not usually respond to that email address.
We do not mind if clients question our prices. We routinely give clients estimates for services. We routinely give clients advice as to what is best and will offer options if an owner cannot afford the best option. We did that for this client.
Although we feel compelled to respond to individual accusations made in this review, such a response seemed like a petty argument so we chose to summarize by saying that this review contains accounts that we disagree with.
Our goal is to provide excellent customer service by working together on the clientís behalf to provide their pet with state-of-the-art medicine and compassionate care in a supportive environment.
While it regrettable that we have not been able to communicate with this client satisfactorily, we wish her well in the future treatment of her beloved pet.
We do attempt to minimize clients in the waiting area for a variety of reasons. We refer to this area as the reception area because we try to avoid making clients wait.
We have been providing veterinary services in this area for over 20 years with thousands of satisfied customers. We hope the next pet is yours and hope that we can help keep your pet happy and healthy.
