There are several auction houses that I frequent around Atlanta and this is by far my favorite. I have purchased some really interesting, quality pieces for my home. Although I have not used them to sell any of my personal belongings, I am considering doing a little downsizing and I would not use anyone else. I have seen first-hand some unethical dealing with other auction houses. I have NOT witnessed this at Atlanta Auction Company. They are very knowledgeable, ethical, and they sell with the best interest of their consigners - and they tell you that at the beginning of each auction. I would definitely use Atlanta Auction Company, they are great!!!

Fact & Warning: They cheated me and there really is nothing I can do about it. Sold my Ethan Allen furniture, 7 pieces: tables, two twin head boards including frames and a tall chest of drawers. Remember ".30 cents on the dollar" is something to keep in mind at today's market. I got $104.50 for everything after paying the moving guy who is an independent but works with the auction house. His standard rate of $150.00. We had to call AAC to get an update if the furniture had been sold and if there was a check coming. After 5-6 weeks of waiting to hear from them, they sent a check and left one item off the statement that was included in the envelope with the check. When I spoke to the owner, he confirmed that there was a table left off and he would "help me out" by sending me another $15.00. Take this as a warning, when the items leave your possession they are out of your control. I have absolutely no idea what my items sold for at auction as they do not show a bill of sale. I would have done much better at a garage sale or had more satisfaction giving it to charity. These guys could have sold my merchandise to friends or business partners, make their cut and give me shut up token change. PURE RIP OFF!!!!!! You're better off having your own sale and putting up signs in your neighborhood.

Absolutely no idea who this person is. We did not sell these items. Our moving guy does not charge $150.00 per hour and, in fact, his rate is much less. This angers me. Any crazy person can make these horrid remarks. We would never do a "deal" for our friends or business partners. Neither my husband or myself have ever stolen anything from anyone, ever. Lucy Troutman, President Atlanta Auction Co.
Some reviewers just don't get it right. I know the Troutman's personally and think the world of their whole family. Besides being down to earth and overall great people, they are some of the most honest and trustworthy people I've had the pleasure of knowing. I recently brought some things over to them for an auction and with all their experience, they helped me manage my expectations of what my belongings would bring from being sold at an auction. I was absolutely thrilled with the results! I'd say that if you are looking for people with integrity that you can trust to help you sort out what can happen for you at an auction, the Troutman's are the people to go to. I will definitely use their services again. In fact, I'm talking with people at my church to help with a fundraiser there as well.
