I was a patient at ACRM from May 2013 through January 2014. All of the doctors and staff were incredibly supportive, kind, and knowledge. I appreciate doctors who are up front, explain all the... options, and try not to sugar coat anything. I always felt informed about my care and what options we had. Appointments ran usually on schedule so no problems waiting. We went through several treatment cycles with medications and one miscarriage before we got pregnant. During the appt when we found out we miscarried, the doctor sincerely embraced me while I cried like a baby. It was so nice to have people who cared. After several cycles, we luckily got pregnant in November of 2013 are due to deliver in a week with our first baby, a girl! I know we wouldn't be having this baby without ACRM so I highly recommend them to anyone, wherever you are in your journey.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
While no one wishes to experience infertility, luckily places like ACRM exist to help those who face it. From our first visit, my husband and I were struck by the professional and caring environment... established by ACRM. Experienced, intelligent doctors explained a personalized course of treatment to us backed with both statistics and enthusiasm for a positive outcome. Throughout my treatment, every doctor and nurse I encountered was kind, knowledgeable, and supportive. My questions were always answered thoroughly by my doctor or the nurse assigned specifically to my case. I am currently pregnant with my third child thanks to the amazing team at ACRM. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone facing infertility. I was sent to ACRM for a workup for medical issues. The physicians and staff were always exceptionally responsive and caring. My experience at ACRM was the best medical experience I have had in years. Please keep up the great work!
I have had a great experience with the ACRM team and Iím very pleased with the way they run their practice. Iím almost 35 years old, and I have been trying to get pregnant for the last 2 Ĺ years. Since my OBGYN couldnít find the cause of my infertility, he recommended ACRM to me. I been their patient for the last 10 months. I was initially diagnosed with premature ovarian failure and hypothyroidism. I had 2 Ĺ rounds of IUF and two rounds of IVF and Iím now pregnant with wonderful twins. Everybody in this practice is extremely professional, so in your first couple of appointments they are not going to treat you as if they have known you all your life, but within a couple of visits, you will start to feel the relationship with each one of them building up and getting closer. I was where you are not too long ago, looking at reviews of fertility clinics and feeling helpless. I hope that everything goes well for you and that you find a wonderful group of people to go on this journey with you. I hope that you choose ACRM. Believe me, this is the way I felt the entire time, not just now because I got pregnant. I still have 7 months to go, so anything can happen, but somehow I feel that I have a good team there to help me if I need it.
My husband and I were referred to a fertility specialist because I have PCOS. During our initial consultation, I was told that my insurance does not cover infertility treatments but that it could be coded for treatment for PCOS. I didn't get this in writing and now I am being sued by the doctor's office because they coded the bill incorrectly and my insurance rejected it. I have tried to resolve this matter with them and they hang up whenever I call and do not return my call when I leave messages. I paid for the procedures that could not be coded for PCOS, which shows you they knew what they could not get the insurance to cover. On the second hand, we were not counseled on how the treatments would affect me, as someone with a documented history of depression. My husband divorced me in the middle of treatments because he said I had changed, when it was only the treatments that were affecting me. I ended up in the mental hospital because the treatments gave me reverse postpartum depression. All of this could have been avoided with proper counseling. Don't go here, they don't own up to their own mistakes and make you pay for their mistakes twice.
I can understand that some reviews are based on whether or not the reviewer became pregnant by using ACRM. Here is an unbiased review - as I ultimately chose not to use ACRM. And, as a medical professional myself, here is my personal and professional opinion - stay away from ACRM. I have no fallopian tubes and have successfully conceived via IVF at another clinic, GRS. I knew that based on my age (38), I would need multiple IVF cycles in increase my chances of conceiving again. I chose ACRM because of their attractive Attain Refund program. I continually asked for the program information, costs and qualifications. Instead I received a battery of tests - many unnecessary. After three months, I questioned the fact that they still wanted to do more tests (all the tests came back normal). They finally decided to start an IVF cycle. Just as we are about to start the IVF cycle, they told me I didn't qualify for the Attain refund program because of my "previous treatment cycles". A rep from the Attain program called me later that day and said that was NOT the case at all. I didn't qualify because of my age. ACRM knew I never qualified for the program. But they chose to delay my chances of conceiving and run unnecessary tests. In our profession, we don't call that disorganized - we call that unethical. Infertility is stressful and emotional. You need timely, empathetic and individualized care. Save yourself the heartache and disappointment - go to GRS.
I had a great experience with the staff and MDs. They were informative, prompt and courteous. Being able to get lab results the same day was amazing. When I would call to speak with my nurse she would always return my call promptly. Scheduling was a breeze as well.
I have had an incredible experience with Dr. Hasty, nutritionist Tracey Singh, and everyone at ACRM in every possible way. From check-out to financial counseling to nurses and our patient care coordinator, every member of the ACRM team has wowed me with their professionalism, warmth, kindness, and compassion. At ACRM, you will be met with true care every step along the way. Dr. Hasty has taken an intuitive, holistic approach to my assessment and treatment, thinking about my overall health and well-being and not just simply the desired outcome of fertility. She is intelligent, patient, thorough, and nuanced. With her as my physician, I no longer feel I have to worry about anything - I know she is as invested in my health as I am. She is a true partner and I feel blessed to have her as my physician. Tracey Singh, the in-practice nutritionist, is just as exceptional and a critical member of my care team. She has provided so much guidance, knowledge and outlined a practical strategy for diet and nutrition to assist in my overall treatment plan. She is also incredibly kind, gentle, understanding, and encouraging, regularly checking in between appointments to see how I am progressing and to offer encouragement. She is a wealth of knowledge and has been a tremendous help and critical part of my care! Every nurse I have seen has been warm and caring; phone calls are returned promptly and as much time as you need is given to answering of questions re labs etc. What a special place
Dr. Keenan, has been a real jerk to me and my husband, the whole visit was really uncomfortable for us, the way he approached us with my medical results was really depressing. We felt like we were taking up his time even though we paid for the visit. I have asked him couple of questions and I didn't quite understand his answer so he responded with more medical terms;, he made me feel really stupid. He works for Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine and that was the last time I will ever deal with them because of him. Before I forget, he actually wasn't ready to see me, he didn't even study my record beforehand. He acted like he knows everything and we are only people who do not have any idea about medicine. Dr. Keenan, for future reference, there are ways to talk to simple people like us without making us feel stupid and under educated.
We have had a great experience at ACRM with Dr. Calhoun. Our family is not traditional and we have felt uncomfortable at other clinics, but our visits to ACRM have been seamless.
My husband and I could not brag more on ACRM! We first went to see Dr. Toner 4 years ago, thought we would need IVF, but the 1st IUI worked with no issues. Now, we expecting our 2nd baby, thanks to ACRM, in 2 months. It helped me so much to know every detail of my insurance coverage, which ACRM explained to us at the first appt. The staff, nurses and doctor's all were welcoming and showed true care for us both times! I will always recommend acrm.
We have had two successful ICSI cycles elsewhere. Our cycle failed here. They forgot all kinds of stuff pertaining to our cycle (but they never forgot to bill us and charge late fees before the bill was late). They also did not tell us until AFTER our cycle failed about bad test results that indicated a significant change in my health and reduced chances of getting pregnant. We would not have chosen to do a fresh cycle if we had known about the test results. It is my feeling that they stole our money, time, and emotions by not informing us of the test results. When we confronted the owner of the clinic over all of the problems we experienced (including the test results), she blamed everybody else on her staff. Then tried to hard sell us on doing another fresh cycle AFTER telling us I had little to no chance of getting pregnant with my own eggs. If you have never done IVF before, this is not the place to start - in my opinion. The staff does not explain anything. I would have been lost had I not done this before. By the way, a non-profit fertility clinic reviewed my chart and disagreed with ACRM's diagnosis of poor egg quality (they reason they stated my cycle failed), gave their opinion of why the cycle failed (had nothing to do with my health), and could not understand why they changed my protocol to what they did. After this experience, it is now my opinion that some doctors are in their profession for the money - only.
This company doesn't even deserve one star. My experience at the Perimeter office was characterized by misleading cost estimates, unnecessary blood tests and office visits (running up the bill), clumsy phlebotomists, rude nurses and support staff, and one test that we paid for wasn't even performed. Don't trust anything they tell you over the phone or in person - get the details in writing and check very closely. Also ask before any tests are performed what the normal ranges should be, so you know what the lab results actually indicate. Stay away from these crooks!
If the rest of the staff was as courteous as our doctor then I would not be writing this review. Unfortunately, your main points of contact throughout this process are the nurses and ďcounselors.Ē If I ran my business this way, I would be out of business very quickly. The process is difficult enough as it is and should not be made more difficult by poor service. ACRM is not a low end clinic so you would expect to receive a very high level of service. At the halfway point, the service has been very poor to say the least. Very difficult to reach someone on the phone or get someone to return your call. Everyone seems to tell you something different and nobody understands your particular insurance considerations. Expect "we'll bill your insurance and hope for the best." People need hand holding during this process, it is incredibly difficult to understand and emotionally taxing. The nurses here have no idea what they're talking about half the time, lack bedside manner when giving you results, can't tell you in advance what appointments you need to schedule, make you come in 5 separate times for blood-work when you should be able to do it once, donít return phone calls and when they do, seem irritated by it. We are still going because we like our doctor and if we get pregnant then it trumps everything else. I would not recommend this facility to anybody about to start this difficult process.
My wife and I have been to this facility for past 6 months, it has been nothing but poor experience. They just care to charge you and provide you with no service. They do not return your call the time you need to hear from them the most. POOR POOR POOR. We spoke to the head of HR and nothing has changed, do not waiste your time and money with this facility.
