Atlanta Dog Spa

I was looking for a place with a home like feel, someplace with grass, someplace without agressive dogs (no pit bulls), all close to downtown. They are wonderful!!

I have used Atlanta Dog Spa many times over the last two years, but never again. Some of the staff who I have interacted with lately have been a total turn off (not saying thanks, not smiling, not seeming to love dogs, acting aloof). On my last visit, they left me waiting in the lobby for 20 minutes with no explanation and an unconvincing "sorry about that" when I paid the bill. One time I scheduled a pick up from my home, and they called and canceled 30 minutes before. I almost missed a flight because of it. This last visit was the final straw. When I came to pick up my dogs, all of the dogs were in the front yard with NO SUPERVISION (no one in yard or at window/door) and both of my dogs weren't wearing their collars. Anyone could have opened the front gates. I was horrified. Furthermore, one of my dogs had diarrhea smeared all over his back end and one of his legs. They just let him run around like that with the other dogs, which has to be a health violation. I had paid for a bath, and they didn't even offer to redo the bath or not charge me. Both of my dogs had diarrhea for three days after they came home, which is unusual for them. I should have taken a clue from something that happened on my first visit. During the walk-through we entered an empty yard where there was an elderly dog sitting in one corner (direct sunlight, no shade) who had been left there by accident. No one who cares enough to pay top-dollar boarding prices would expect this sort of an experience.

I've had my Albino Boxer Stevie for almost 4years. Atlanta Dog Spa is the only place I use boarding/daycare for him because is a "Special Needs Animal" and requires specific attention. Because of his inability to hear he only responds to hand signals and body language. The handlers at A.D.S. have always given him the utmost attention and do their best to feel comfortable when I travel. The ability to see my animals on a video cam if I miss them too much when I am away. They are very well organized, cordial and keep a spotless facility.

We went to check out the Dog Spa for our dogs for a possible extended stay, all I can say is the place is really run down and dark, the room they going to put our dogs in was dirty and damp. Also there was only one member of staff supervising the dogs at the time, it was a very depressing place to visit. Thankfully we found a fanastic kennels that is clean and is properly staffed.. I wouldn't even bother checking this place out until they give it a good clean up!

My dogs love going to the dog spa for doggie daycare. Actually, they love it so much the days they don't get to go, they stand by there leashes and pout as I leave the house. I love being able to check in on them on the doggie webcams. All the staff is very friendly and know my dogs names when we walk in the door. Great place to take your dogs!
