Susie is a superb teacher with an awesome personality. The academy she teaches literally has a little of everything. My only prerequisite (at the time) was a school that was state certified (which it... is). I didn't know what to expect when I started, but it turned out to be a great decision for me! The other trainers are very knowledgeable as well, adding their own teaching styles and insight to my learning experience. Everybody is so personable, it was very easy to learn and make some new friends. If you can't decide which school to attend, I would strongly urge you to pick Atlanta Dog Trainer. If you're serious about becoming a dog trainer, you won't be disappointed!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
What impresses me most is the breadth and depth of the curriculum. It goes way beyond training dogs and their humans... From handling and raising puppies to leading a doggie daycare business - it's... all here! It's extremely diverse, so no academy day is like the next. Another invaluable part is the practical learning experience - witnessing the frequent sessions with clients and the challenges they face with their dogs. It makes the whole course very hands-on and a lot of fun.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

We brought our dog, Jessie, to swim and try dock diving. It was great. Jia put her at ease and she jumped a few times and loved swimming. My husband and I really enjoyed watching her.
We took our sweet, but wild, 1 year old black lab to ADT for 2 weeks and we are so pleased with the result. Our dog, Mo, was trained by Rick. Mo can finally walk on a leash without pulling us down the street and overall he is just much calmer. He knows his commands and has become much easier to control. I highly recommend ADT and especially Rick.
We rescued a dog and needed help with training her (as well as retraining some poor habits). We contacted Rick at Atlanta Dog Trainer and he came to our home to work with our dog and us. Over 6 sessions we have learned so much, and she has made great progress! We are going to end up with a very well trained dog. She loves Rick and responds to his training very well. I am so thankful we found atlanta dog trainer!
My fiancee and I are first time puppy owners, so we had no idea what we were doing! We had 3 trips planned already, so we were SO relieved when we found Atlanta Dog Trainer in Alpharetta. The entire staff is so amazing and so sweet to our 6 month old puppy. We even got a text with a photo of our pup on Thanksgiving! We feel so reassured leaving him with this caring staff. Even as an adopted puppy, he leaves after his weekends at ADT totally happy, tired out, and completely un-stressed. Just walking onto their property, you can see why. Tons of happy dogs everywhere!
We sent our wire fox terrier for two weeks of training and help with house breaking. When we picked him up he would sit on command and not much else. We were given do-it-yourself instructions for training and housebreaking. This was a poor experience and a waste of over $1000.
All dogs do not develop or learn at the same pace, much like not all humans learn or develop at the same pace. As instructed to you and all of our clients during the temperament and assessment consultation, we do not propose, promote, or plan that once any type of training is accomplished with any dog that all will be perfect. We do provide room for a learning curve. Our over 20 years of experience in the dog training industry has only reinforced the knowledge that patience is key to a successful training and a happy dog. Your dog more than anything wants to please you. Its been our policy that we provide free refreshers for the life of the dog because we know coming into this learning experience that some dogs need more time and care than others. In the case of your dog we made you aware that the challenges established stem from the dog’s previous experience. That means that the dog must unlearn bad habits, and relearn new acceptable behavior. In the same manner it took time for the dog to learn the behavior we are working to correct, it takes time for the dog to process, adapt, and change to something new and acceptable. Positive reinforcement, commitment, as well as consistency by those who interact with the dog, is critical for the process. We will be more than happy to help you through the reinforcement process, reassess the challenges, and set up some time with you so we can provide any additional support. We understand with the busy season that you have been unable to reconnect with us to help you out. Please be aware that our lines of communication are open, and we have reached out to you unsuccessfully multiple times. Our goal is to strength your bond with you and your dog.
We took our challenging Sheltie to Atlanta Dog Trainer to work with Ji Kim. He was fabulous. We feel we have our own "Dog Whisperer". Ji helped us understand and work with our girl to overcome the fear from abuse she encountered as a rescue from a puppy mill. He gave us simple games and cues to use to help us work through issues. All this occurred in just a couple of private sessions. We will not hesitate to return for any additional dog training.
I would 100% recommend this dog training company IF you love your dog AND you want to keep it positive and get results. I adopted a shelter dog who needs a ton of work and I just can't say enough about how Susie, Ji and Mike have helped my dog and me. I love them and their approach. Not only is my dog's behavior improving but they are helping us bond better. I am so grateful to them and love recommending them.
When I left my teaching job and decided to jump into the dog training profession, I was both excited and anxious at the same time. I didn't know where to begin looking for schools to become a professional dog trainer. I wanted to find the best place that could provide me not only the theory and strong academic background, but also hands on training to support it. I shopped around and spoke to other students from other schools. What I learned that even among them, the Atlanta Dog Trainer Academy for Professional Dog Trainers was the best in town. Not only did I learn the most recent in animal behavior practices and schools of thought, but I also was able to have hands on exposure to experience those technics in practice first hand under the guidance of an expert. My books were brought to life with my instructor, and I learned a variety of different techniques, methods, and approaches for effective dog training on every level in the academy. Today, I make a healthy income, love my job, and am able to work around dogs everyday, thanks to the Atlanta Dog Trainer Academy for Professional Dog Trainers. I recommend it to anyone who wishes to pursue a career in the Professional Dog Training industry.
We sent our new german shepherd puppy to board and train. We had a wonderful trainer named Rick that trained her for two weeks. My dog Riley needed some proper training skills that would her to become a wonderful family dog. After picking her up from board and train we were very pleased with the results. Rick was a wonderful trainer and I would recommend Atlanta Dog Trainer to anyone.
We left our 7 month old puppy with Cherry for the 14 day board and train while we went on a 10 day vacation right after having our little girl spayed. We received regular updates inclusive of pictures. The care, love and expertise of ADT and Cherry in particular was exceptional. Our puppy learned an incredible amount in such a short time and had a fantastic time! The key to a well trained animal is to be consistent and continue with the training foundation that Cherry put in place. She has been in constant contact to help us transfer the leadership over to our family. All of our friends have remarked how much calmer and obedient our large breed pup has become. This comes as no surprise to me as Skyler (our puppy) went through puppy training at ADT. We will continue to engage in classes at ADT because this facility has the most incredible staff. Thank you Cherry and ADT!!
We showed up with our 8 month old yellow lab not knowing what to expect out of the 14 day board and train. Cherry was great at spending time with us and being patient. While Bella was with her for two weeks, Cherry kept us informed with updates and pictures. In fact, we were worried Bella was having such a great time she would not want to come home! We picked her up and she did all the commands immediately. After getting her home, we have been confident in continuing her training as Cherry did a great job teaching us how to transfer the leadership back to us. Bella is a new dog! Cherry has also been very accessible to answer any followup questions. Great experience with Atlanta Dog Trainer and Cherry! Brad
I had the opportunity to meet Susie when I attended the Behavioral workshop over two days this past weekend. It was a wonderful experience and Susie was excellent in delivering so much useful information over the two days. I was very impressed with the staff and will be bringing Cody to Doggie Daycare and boarding him on the farm in the future.
I have nothing to say about this experience that I wish to share online. Have requested this post be removed from Kudzu.
