Non-Existent Customer/Patient Service
Want to speak to your doctor or the physician assistant? FORGET IT! They never answer the phone and rarely return calls. We left messages with the PA every day for a week because the drug store never received the prescription. When I finally reached her by accident on the switchboard, she told me "I don't listen to my messages, I just see that I have a missed call." This is only the tip of the iceberg of the unbelievably horrible experience we have had. Is the doctor smart & capable? Yes, but without service, what good is that? Giving one star is more than they deserve. Our experience was with Emory Midtown and Dr Fox and his PA Jasmine.

Out of network pathologist
I have been going to AGA for over 20 years. I went in for a endoscopy in February, everyone was paid in network, except for the pathologist. He billed under AGA office, but since he was not in network, BC/BS (Anthem), the insurance company did not pay his astronomical charge at network level. Instead, I received a check for about $170 and according to the EOB, I have to pay him about $700! This was for a stomach tissue sample that was prepped at Northside Hospital Lab, even though my procedure was done at the Lawrenceville outpatient facility.

Is this some scheme to make more money for AGA? To have out of network pathologists contracted to them? This is the first time AGA has done this as I have had other biopsies done through them at the same outpatient facility, all in network.
I too, have had no return calls from their contracted billing, the medical office staff has been kind enough to try to help me resolve this, but to no avail.

Unprofessional Medical Staff
This is the rudest and unprofessional medical staff that I never met in my life. Don't take your business to this office. I don’t recommend anyone to take his or her business to this location.

Billing nightmare!
I did an endoscopy/colonoscopy procedure. I picked an in-network Dr (Atlanta gastro) and an in-network facility (Northern crescent). Apparently the pathologist in that facility is out-of-network. There is no way I could have known that because I didn't get to pick pathologist, only the main facility. Now the billing guys for Atlanta gastro (galenadvisors) won't re-submit the claim under the in-network doctor and without that the insurance company won't reprocess it. Galenadvisors won't return my calls either. I am at my wits end on this and I am about to file a lawsuit. Even if you don't have any sickness, you will pick up one just fighting these idiots!

Lousy Patient Support
Don't assume that because a practice is associated with Emory/CWL that it is the best. My appt was at Midtown location. Young lady who explained prep to me went so fast I could not understand half of what she said. Not one bit friendly, very detached & unresponsive. Conflicting information in the instructions. I called twice to get clarification and no one ever returned my call. By now it's getting close to the appt so I cancelled rather than take a chance on doing this horrible pre-colonoscopy prep wrong. So much for AGA. I will go to another doctor if my primary care physician says I need to at this stage. Staff is not very helpful.
