Atlanta Womens Specialists PC

I have been going to Atlanta Women's Specialists for 2 years, and at first I liked Dr. Hathaway and the practice as a whole. A couple of months ago, I was experiencing pelvic pain and came back in for an ultrasound. Dr. Angus reviewed the exam, and his first words after introducing himself to me were: "You have alot going on." He then proceeded to inform me of the presence of a small ovarian cyst. He said there was no known cause, and of course, recommended surgery, but that with no guarantee that they would not be able to remove just the cyst - and may have to remove the ovary as well. As a 30 year old healthy female with no other women's health issues, I was shocked at his recommendation and communication approach. I left the office thinking, that after speaking with Dr. Hathaway I would surely receive a different response - I didn't. Instead, I did my own research on diet habits that cause ovarian cysts, which has led to its natural healing and dissolve. I also promptly found another GYN practice where I felt that I would be treated with the attention and care I deserve as a patient.

My daughter felt very uncomfortable and rushed on her 1st visit with her 1st pregnancy. Entering her 10th week, she had blood pressure taken and blood drawn. Nothing more. Appt. was with Dr. Juanita Hathaway. When going over future possible tests, etc, the doctor sounded like a recording; very impersonal. When asked about her diet, due to being a vegetarian. The doctor replied (and I quote) "eat more beans or whatever it is you eat for protein". Doctor was asked about calcium intake since my daughter does not like milk. The doctor replied (and I quote again) "eat more cheese". REALLY!!! WOW. Dr. did not have a pleasant demeanor. At least pretend that you care. On this groups website, the doctors have bio's and what they believe in. This doctor needs to revise hers. Nothing at all like she is presented. My daughter WILL NOT be staying with this group. It was her first and last appointment.

The most unprofessional group. If you are pregnant, stay clear. The group of "PHONE NURSES" are rude and "OK" with you leaving the practic due to a non returned phone call back on a high pregnancy. The doctor will take days to return to problem phone call. NOT ACCEPTABLE IN A PREGNANCY SITUATION AT ALL. I WOULDN'T SEND MY ANIMAL THERE, MUCHLESS MY SELF EVER AGAIN!

With such a personal and intimate need, the doctors at this practice made me feel very comfortable. I sing their praises and highly recommend this practice.

I agree with the reviews of Dr McKinney. I met her one time before I was trying to get pregnant and found her to be very cold. Dr Dawson was great! He delivered my second daughter and I had a very good experience. He is calm and professional and really listens to his patients. I see the NP Melanie Turco now for routine care and I like her a lot.
