As dishonest as the day is long....
I had a major water leak in the interior of my home due the main water line--which was polybutlylene --bursting. I really should NOT have had this problem because in December 2009, Atlantis Plumbing was paid $2600 to REROUTE and replumb my house. Rather than doing the job correctly, the plumbers ACTUALLY LEFT THE POLYBUTYLENE LINE INTACT and attached the new piping to it and said not a word. I didn't discover the problem until water began coming up through my kitchen floor and kitchen wall recently. I contacted Atlantis and scheduled an appt. the next day b/w 12pm-2pm. How about no one showed up?! I called again. When a plumber did arrive, this guy, Herman, tells me that they may have to remove the heat/air unit and that alone would cost $5000. WHAT does my HVAC unit in the garage have to do with a water line leak which was supposed to be rerouted by this same plumbing company but was not?? Atlantis actually wanted ANOTHER $3250 to come out and reroute the water line they should have rerouted in Dec 09! Unbelievable! I contacted All City Plumbing and their crew came out and after assessing the what Atlantis HAD NOT done, performed a proper reroute for $1600--the owner dropped the price from $1800 after assessing what Atlantis had done wrong. All in all a very bad experience. Atlantis knows what they did wrong but clammed up real quick when called on the carpet. Never mind Atlantis Plumbing also totally disregarded the 5 year warranty on their work.

Is he a crook or have a bad memory? Mr. Davis was reimbursed from State Farm $3425 in 2009 and $1600 in October of 2011 for plumbing related work. In May 2009, Mr. Davis had a slab leak on his interior piping. We presented his insurance company with two options, break up the concrete and fix or reroute the leaking pipes over head. The insurance company agreed to reroute the leaking lines overhead, and in the process Mr. Davis had all of the polybutylene pipe replaced from the main shutoff valve in the garage to all the fixtures in the house. At the time Mr. Davis was advised of the polybutylene running from the main valve in the house out toward the water meter, but insisted that he had replaced some portion of the line. Mr. Davis did not want to pay to replace the line in 2009, and the insurance company was definitely not going to proactively replace the water service to the house. At that time I offered to replace the line for under $1000 since we were replacing pipes inside the house. Fast forward to December 2011, the polybutylene water service line starts leaking underground, we prepare a quote based on running the line through the existing path, but I mentioned we could reroute the line since the HVAC system was in the way. The water service line went under the furnace area and terminated in the yard with blue polybutylene pipe. At that point Mr. Davis decided that he should not have to pay to have his water service line replaced. He orginally paid another contractor prior to 2009 to replace a piece of the line, which at that point would have been the proper time to connect the water service line to the main shutoff valve inside the house. Last month I get a ridiculous letter that Mr. Davis is suing me for negligence. That he wants to me to refund $2600 for replacing all the interior polybutylene pipe in the house and pay $500 for his deductible. In 2009 we were never paid to replace the polybutylene water service line which leaked into his house in October 2011. We do not warranty work that was not performed by us, that was not contracted to be done by us and that is the original water service to the home. Considering that state farm insurace paid $1600 to run the new water service line, state farm paid $3425 to reroute his piping overhead and that Mr. Davis paid two $500 deductibles. Therefore the total cost to repipe the inside of the house, fix the drywall from the reroute, replace the water service would only have cost Mr Davis $175.00 out of pocket. Only $175 is a great price considering the home value just went up $5000, the defective polybutylene pipe was removed from the house and he did not have to pay for any plumbing work. The insurance policy only covered leak detection and access to the pipes. I am excited to go to see the magistrate court on March 20th. I already reported Mr.Davis to State Farm for trying to profit off of an insurance loss.
