Avilas Restaurant

Originally called Leo's, Avila's is a staple for Mexican food on the west side of El Paso. Everything comes out quickly, is consistently good, and reasonably priced.

Avila's is a great place to take your family or business clients. The queso is awesome as are the serving plate portions. At the end, enjoy cinnamon or regular soapapillas!

but not great either. I have never had a dish I thought was outstanding but i have never had a horrible one either. Its an ok place nothing spectacular.

I have friends who think this is a pretty good restaurant, but I can only believe it's due to past reputation. My typical visit includes a long time to place an order, an even longer time to get food, and then a constant waving for a waiter to get the check. The food's ok, the people are nice, but I guess the staffing is low? Anyway, Leo's is a much, much, much better restaurant if you're looking for Mexican food.
