NeuroCare Center of Atlanta
My name is Jody, I am the office manager of NeuroCare Center of Atlanta and I have worked with Dr. Awad for over 10 years now. We are a small practice affiliated with the Piedmont Clinic and Piedmont Hospital in the Atlanta area.We are a small office with a solo physician. We try our best to accomodate everyone that needs to be seen. We actually have an excellent record based on thorough evaluations by the patients and the referring physicians. These are sponsored by leading professional companies in the field of hospital and physician service ""evaluations"". We are required to meet certain standards, guidelines and ethics dictated by the profession itself and by the hospital and the clinic administration. We are aware of the fact that we cannot please everyone; it is the advantage of a good health care system to allow the patient to see whoever they please and to select from a variety of practices in the same specialty as they feel appropriate. One way to evaluate a specialist is by the level of communication he or she has with your primary care physician and by making sure that you as a patient, understand your plan of care and ask all the questions that are important to you to participate in your own care.Thank you for taking the time to read this and for understanding that we are privilaged in this country to express our opinions openly and freely. This is a right that we need to protect and of course, show respect and responsibility when we excercise it.

DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!!!!
This doctor is all about money and does not care about people! His staff is exceptionally rude! I had a seizure at work and ended up in the ER. The ER Dr. originally told me was going to give me a prescription for anti-seizure medication for my own safety. When I was discharged, he said he was uncomfortable letting me go w/o anti-seizure medication, but that Dr. Awad had insisted on seeing me w/o medicine and promised he would get me in within a couple days. That was a Wed, the soonest he could get me in was on Mon, and the obnoxious staff made a big deal about how he was doing me a ""favor."" I took off work to be there, and got a phone call in the parking lot mere minutes before my appt from his rude office manager telling me that my appt was cancelled and that I couldn't be upset because he was trying to do me a ""favor."" So I took Thurs morning off too, and upon arrival, found out the limited temporary insurance I have maxes out at $2000, which was eaten up by the ER. They wouldn't see me. I tried calling the ER doctor back, but the nurse wouldn't let me speak to him saying that it is policy that once a patient is discharged, they won't call in a prescription, and that I'd have to be readmitted to the hospital, which I now cannot do. Please please please do not see this doctor. He does not care about people, just your money. If I have another seizure and get injured (or worse, fall down a stairwell and die) because I can't get medicine to protect myself, then that is on his head. This is not my first, so it is not unlikely that I will have another. This doctor should have his medical license revoked.

Good Doctor
what is your name and why were just randomly at a trial? (unless you were on trial)\r\rthose are strong accusations from an anonymous person. \r\rsounds like he took the stand and used his own name. why cant you speak up using yours (or is it ""imcdizzle"")? \r\rhe's a good doctor and an honest man. you obviously don't know him.\r\rDavid Wilson

questionable expertise
I recently sat in on a medical malpractice trial in which Dr Awad was called to the stand as an expert witness. At least six times Dr Awad contradicted his own previously sworn statements. Four sworn-in world renowned experts said his arguments were absolutely wrong. On the witness stand one of these sworn experts said his medical descriptions were ""outrageous, egregious, preposterous"". In closing arguments, his own attorney admitted he was ""easily confused"" and ""looked foolish"". Although he was very pleasant, I would not go to a Doctor with such questionable expertise.

Dr. Awad was great.
Dr. Awad was the first neurologist I've ever seen. He treated me very well and had a treatment plan in place the day he saw me. His PA was really great and made me feel comfortable. I did have to wait when I got there but not for longer than at any other Dr's office. He ordered an MRI and when he got the results he saw me that day to go over them. He sat next to me and went through each slide one by one. I really appreciate that kind of attention. The front staff was really friendly to me, the only problem I did have was when I called in a prescription and never got a call back. I would recommend Dr. Awad to anyone needing a great neurologist and who wants to become pain free quickly.
