Best Meal I've Had in a While, 3/05/2011

My wife and I went here for our anniversary. Everything was amazing. Perfectly proportioned, well-cooked, delicious. Plus, they brought us an extra dessert because it was our anniversary. You... won't be disappointed here. It's expensive but worth it.

Best Restaurant in Atlanta, 6/30/2009

Fine dining at its best - with the freshest ingredients, impeccable service, and unique combinations. I love when the waiter brings over a "gift from the chef" -- some special treat they bring you... that you didn't order -- I've received one every time I've been. For us, this is a perfect spot for a special occasion dinner or for taking our out-of-town clients out to dinner. Star Provisions (connected to the restaurant) I like even more as it is my favorite little gourmet foodie shop with beautiful dishes, fresh cheeses, meats, and wonderful pre-fixed meals / sides to go. You can actually get a fantastic slice of pizza for 99cents at the Star Provisions counter and my husband loves the Muffaletta sandwich. I pick up baked goods / breads / desserts here and our favorite Vermont Cheddars and Appenzeller Swiss cheeses and salami, too. Expensive but worth it! Recently split the Reuben sandwich here with my husband...delicious!! I didn't even know I liked Reuben sandwiches. :)

The best of everything

Go, sit, and let them feed you. You are not experienced enough to pick out what you want on the menu. Simply the best food, wine, service you will ever encounter. The fanciest of fancy resturaunts. Aniversery type place.

Expensive but Excellent

This place can be very pricey but if you enjoy fine dining I can't think of too many places I would suggest over this one. The serving portions are just right, the food is excellent, and the wine list is as well. For a special occassion or those with an unlimited budget this a great choice for dinner or lunch.

Great Fin Dining

Expect to have great tasting food, with great service. Usually rated as one of the top 3 restaurants in Atlanta. Expect to pay 75-100 per person, plus tip.

Over priced

The food was excellent but was way overpriced. Comperable restaurants in Atlanta offer better value. Also the dining room is very loud. My wife could barely here each other talk.

Totally worth the $$$

This is the one restaurant in Atlanta that I can recommend without any hesitation. Every time I've been the food has been superb, with service to match. If you are looking for a great place to celebrate a special romantic occasion, or really want to impress a date, this is it. Although the location is a bit odd, once you're inside you won't care. A 4 course meal often expands into twice that many with numerous treats from the chef and refreshing palate cleansers. Just be forewarned that you will be spending some money here. 2 people drinking a light to moderate amount can expect to pay well more than $200 for a meal with a tip. The atmosphere is quiet and elegant, and the service is simultaneously attentive and invisible in all the right ways

Very Different, Eclectic Dining

This is a restaurant you go to to experience a very different type of dining. I would recommend the pris fixe dining & allow the chef to chose many of the items for you as they will make excellent choices to please your palette. Plan on spending at least 2 hours or more tho as this is not a dinner to speed through.

Star Provisions - Unique Shopping!

Star Provisions, just inside Bacchanalia, is a wonderful gift shop! They carry everything from fine meats, cheeses, pastries, candies and gourmet packaged goods to dinnerware and gifts. They constantly update their inventory with unique items and are a must visit during the holidays! Even if you do not eat at Bacchanalia, I highly recommend a visit to Star Provisions for a unique shopping experience. PS by the way, their molten lava cakes are to die for!

Very disappointed...

Either this place has gone downhill or it just doesn't live up to the hype. The Pork Tenderloin was too spicy for the bland, sweet sauce it was served with. My crab appetizer (similar to a crab cake) had so many shells in it that I couldn't eat it and my halibut was overcooked and average at best. Service was VERY lacking. Empty plates would sit for five minutes on our tiny table while we tried to make room for more. The "gifts" from the chef were dry cookies, a bland yogurt drink and an average "soup to sip". I was very disappointed. Two people, $200 bucks (my husband had water and I had one glass of wine) - there are MUCH better restaurants in Atlanta for that price.

Over-hyped, over-reviewed, over-priced

If this is truly "the best Atlanta has to offer," then Atlanta is in cuisine hell. High pr\ices do not create great food. Bizarre imagination is not a substitute for simple culinary skills. Happy faces are not a substitute for intelligent, well-trained service personnel. Perhaps, being a native Manhattanite, I expect more from a restaurant rated so highly. Then again, so should you.

Exquisite cuisine!

This is a true dining experience. I have followed executive chef, Anne Quattrano through her career in Atlanta, and with this restaurant she has not only come of age, but she has far surpassed this foodies expectations. The food is incredibly fresh, much of it coming from Quattrano's own organic farm, as well as from natural food growers around the region. The cheese plate is fantastic!

An Elegant Experience

I've enjoyed each of my visits to Bacchanalia. If you are a first-time diner, do not venture too far outside your comfort zone when ordering or you might be disappointed. If you order things you traditionally like, you will have a fabulous dining experience, and you can be more daring on your next visit.
