Unreachable Management and Bad Smells, 7/23/2007

False Sense of Security \rBy Jean W. \rMy friend lives there currently, but is looking to move due to false information at move in. At that time there was a resident manager and part of the reason... she chose Baltimore Manor was the emergency pull cords, and that if they went off, the manager would check the problem. Management shifted and now the manager lives in Lancaster. Now the alarms go off often and no one answers them. In the daytime they are sometimes answered by other residents, but in the evenings and overnight they go off for long periods of time, waking everyone up. Since the residents are elderly they are reluctant to help with pull cords when it is dark out and the side walks are uneven. Also the maintenance man is a smoker, that could be the smell that the previous poster mentioned. I have heard from several people that he smokes something other than cigarettes in the vacant apartments while painting them for new tenants.Years ago I would have moved into the property, but not now for anything, the rent is too high for the small apartment and now the one feature that made it so appealing for people like me is no longer safe.\r\rPosted 7/23/2007 at 7:47am \r\r\rNot very nice \rBy ANTHONY S. | Insider Expert | Rank: 3,964 \rI checked this apartment complex out with a buddy who was lookin for a place and its not very nice. First they are small, you can hear what your neighbor is saying through the walls, and it has a strange smell to the place. Not sure if that because of what someone was cookin or if if wasnt very clean. From what the manager was saying, they have reguler openings, I'm not surpised by this. Too small, it smells, no extras, and thin walls\r\rFirst Review! Posted 11/15/2005 at 6:17am
