I have achieved more in 2 sessions with Skibell than I have over the 20 years I have been in therapy! She's delightful and a pleasant surprise. She seems to have experience and an understanding of the many therapies out there. She seems to keep up with her reading as well. It is evident that she has compassion and an enthusiasm for what she does. I recommend her highly!

Barbara is amazing. I have been seeing her since my baratric surgery to address my food issues and stress trigge rs. Nothing gets past her, not to says she is too tough on you, she just knows how to recognize the subconscious behaviours that sometimes leave you wondering later "now, why did I do that? (As I said, she's good!). The best thing about Barbara is how intuititive she is. She dos not take sides, nor does she tell you how you feel, or how you should feel. She gives you the tools and insight to look within yourself to understand your feelings and reactions. The best thing I have gotten so far from her is to avoid putting myself into the "victim role" and take charge of the situation! You won't go wrong with Barbara as long as you are wiling to take a deep look withing yourself and be willing to face what you see. You will be all the better for it.

I have been encouraged to make positive changes in my life which have been easy and natural, thanks to her abilities. I would recommend her most highly to anyone.

It can be tricky to pick a therapist, and it was extra hard for me because I work in the same field. I needed a person to talk with who I could respect both professionally and personally. From the beginning I was impressed with Barbara's ability to help me feel at ease with her and to open up about sensitive issues. Her capacity for insight is unsurpassed. I often leave her office with a useful perspective on personal issues that I had never considered before. She is exceedingly nonjudgmental while also willing to give her careful opinion when it is appropriate. She projects a warmth and wisdom which is very reassuring to me, and she's obviously very experienced in her craft. I'm a better and happier person for having known her, and can identify very specific benefits in my life that I can attribute to my work with her. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a highly capable, caring and effective therapist.

Barbara is the best! She is compassionate, insightful, and talented. I trust her implicitly and my life is better because of her. This is not a compliment I give out lightly; in fact I've never had another doctor or therapist about whom I can say this.

I have been seeing Barbara for a good year and a half now. Not only is she the incredibly understanding, compassionate and loyal therapist, she is a friend. She treats her clients like friends and she has sincere interest in your life and how to make it better. She doesn't offer pat or boring reasons or excuses. She gets to the core of the discussion and in her excellent conversational way, finds out what is really going on. I highly recommend her as a great and honest therapist who truly cares about her patients.
