After adopting Georgia, a sweet seven year old, 75 pound Labrador retriever who needed instruction in greeting guests at the door, leash walking, and other obedience-required situations, we were... looking for an experienced trainer who would come to our home and help with an effective, non-punitive approach. Our vet recommended Tom Zebrowitz, and we could not be more pleased!! As a part of the training process, Tom shared extremely helpful information that helped us better understand dogs and pack behavior, as well as potential issues related to a larger dog (our previous dogs were much smaller breeds). He did an outstanding job of explaining and demonstrating the training techniques in a very clear manner that we could follow and practice. With Tom's guidance and encouragement, we saw amazing improvement by the end of the 3 hour training session! We've continued to practice each day, using the helpful calendar with reminders that he created for us. Georgia is doing beautifully, and we know we couldn't have had this much success without Tom---we give him our highest recommendation!!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
We can never express how much we appreciate Tom's knowledge and professionalism in every aspect of Hank's training, and ours. What a difference Tom made in our lives. That may seem overly... dramatic but it's not to us. We have never had a dog like Hank that was so hard to communicate what we wanted and expected from him. We were always in bad moods because he was biting, jumping and physically hurting us. Even though he was playing when he would bite it was still physically painful and very upsetting. We went through a lot of band-aids before finding Tom. No matter what we did or tried to do to communicate with him nothing worked. We felt Hank was a good sweet dog and we love him dearly but we were beginning to think that we could not handle him. Thank you for showing us how and for saving us and him from having to find him somewhere else to live. I don't think I could have ever forgiven myself for letting him go. Hank is a work in progress, but is showing so much improvement each day as we work through the training schedule Tom left us, now we know how to do the training on our own. I guess I should say we are all a work in progress, but now we are able to do it the correct way thanks to Tom. I find it comforting to know that if we need more help Tom will be there and he will be able to show us the way to go. Tom thanks so much again for everything. It brings tears to my eyes to think what might have happened if we had not found you.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

This is the second pet we have used Bark Busters with. Phenomenal! Tom is patient with dog & owner!
I just want to say how pleased I am with Tom Zebrowitz of Barkbusters. He came into our home, gave excellent directions to us, from leashes, collars, feeding and walking schedules, all he way to the types of foods to be feeding our dogs. Not only that but with alot of patience and care he had us handling our dogs correctly, which was much appreciated and less stressful for both us and our pets. I say bravo to Tom and to Barkbusters! Thanks a million.
Max was extremely professional. We have used several other trainers in the past, but Max took the time to come to my home, assess my dog's particular needs, and listened to my input about what I felt was and was not working. He created a unique behavioral modification program, and I instantly saw results. Bark Busters is unique in the individual attention they give to each pet, and that is what separates them from all other trainers out there.
I have 2 dogs. A 12# mixed breed and an 11 month old Lhasa Apso. The Lhasa, Cassie, was still not house-broken and said hello when I came home from work by putting her mouth around my wrist while jumping (ouch!). I was at the end of my patience. Within 10 days after Tom Zebrowitz's first visit, Cassie was house-broken. Tom showed me how to correct Cassie's behavior when she greets me, provided advice and coaching on other behavior issues we had discussed. I'm still working on the door bell frenzy, but I know we will eliminate that problem too. Zoe and Cassie quit playing together several months ago. Cassie wanted to play but Zoe would growl. I'm happy to say that Zoe and Cassie play for hours and curl together to sleep now. I wish I'd called Barkbusters 6 months ago!
I have 2 boxers, Conway and Chloe. They are the love of my life, but were demanding and destructive to articles in my house, remote controls, shoes, towels and anything they could get in their mouths. After finding Bob and Judy Padgett, our lives have changed. Within 2 hrs. of the first visit, my dogs were controllable. Bob and Judy carefully and professionally showed me the error of my ways. Once you realize that they are retraining the owner, not the dogs, it is an easy concept. For the first time in 2 yrs. my shoes are on the floor, my dogs respond to my commands, no barking in the house and I have taken back my house. This has been a life-changing method. My dogs are happier, I am happier, and any guests now do not get attacked. I highly recommend Bob and Judy Padgett for any problems with your pets. Simple techniques, encouragement, visits to your own home, dealing with your specific problems. Bark Busters has changed our lives, for the Better!! Give them a call, your dogs will thank you.
don't get me wrong, my personal expirience with bark busters was decent. They helped us learn how to train our dogs ourselves. We had a good trainer, even though I think it was overpriced. In my expirience, this is a good and helpful company that will help you if your willing to work at it. They are not aggressive or mean and their methods make sense. BUT, the reviews on this page are obviously false. Notice the first 20 something reviews they made the same mistake by putting 5 stars overall but forgetting to give star ratings for quality, service, and value. Then they caught the mistake and corrected it and started 5 staring nearly everything. Next, most posters on here have only written one review and that's for barkbusters. most people on kudzo write reviews for many services. Additionally there are over 400 barkbusters trainers, yet the vast majority on here promote bob and judy, follwed by max and Tom. It's rare to find reviews of barkbusters (good or bad), where NEARLY EVERY person gives the full or first name of their trainer. If you want real reviews, just google barkbuster reviews, you'll get the good and the bad, not just a slew of reviews obviously written by the franchise owners. My question for barkbusters is, why do you make it a point to respond to EVERY bad review on this site, yet on your own site instead of posting the good and bad and responding to the bad, you only show the good? It makes me wonder if all those reviews are real or fake like this.
Bark Busters is always very grateful when our actual customers take the time to write a review either positive or negative. We use this feedback to help us improve our business. We take great offense when an individual uses this as a forum to attack our integrity and the integrity of our customers. We feel that it is important to address any issues raised by any negative reviews.
We appreciate the positive comments posted by this reviewer regarding the training but find it offensive that the reviewer (who has only one Kudzu review) goes on to say that the other reviews are false. Many of our clients come from Kudzu and we appreciate them returning to rate our service. All reviews posted are by actual clients who took the time to register on Kudzu and then rate our service.
We have 87 reviews going back to 11/01/2005, 57 of the reviewers (including “vettech099”) only had written one review. 30 had 2 or more reviews.
Prior to June 2007 Kudzu only used an overall rating. This is why prior reviews did not have ratings for quality, service or value. This is true for all merchants on Kudzu.
There are over 400 Bark Busters trainers worldwide with approximately 250 in the U.S.A. and 7 in the Atlanta area. The Kudzu site is for Atlanta trainers. This is why all the reviews are for Atlanta trainers. All 7 trainers plus one retired trainer have reviews on Kudzu. Several clients list the name of their trainer and some trainers are mentioned more than others. All seven trainers are certified, qualified experienced trainers.
We are not perfect and while we try our best to satisfy every client we sometimes have unhappy clients. We tell all of our clients that if they are happy with our service to please tell their friends, family, and veterinarian and if they are unhappy to please tell us and we will do everything possible to make them happy. If “vettech099” would contact us directly we would be happy to verify that our reviews are 100% authentic.
I can't say enough great things about Bark Busters and in particular trainer Tom Zebrowitz! The program really works and Tom was so patient teaching me about my puppy. He really knows his dogs and knew just what was needed in my situation. Tom was wonderful answering my emails, my phone calls and in working visits around my crazy schedule. What a difference it has made in our life with a new puppy. We are so very happy with Bark Busters and their training techniques. I say TRY IT!!
Lucy is a wonderful dog but recently has been getting aggressive toward other dogs while walking on leash. I had been searching for months (with no luck)for a trainer who could teach us how to communicate with each other without "Barking Out Orders" so that her life could be as fun as possible. A week ago I was lucky enough to find that trainer. Max Alligood of Bark Busters. The initial training was around two hours and I could already see a difference in the way Lucy was paying attention to me. He explained what she needed from me so that I could get what I needed from her. Within days she is now walking to heel, following me in and out of doorways and improving on how she greets visitors. No pinch collars ...just communication. I love it! I couldn't of asked for a better person to train both Lucy and myself. If you love your dog and you want a better life for both of you call Max at Bark Busters. He can show you how. Thanks Max, From Lucy and Gert
Ryan McPherson with Barkbusters Home Dog Training is exceptional professional and personable. He came to our home and within the first session had our family changing our behaviors to improve the lifestyle of our family and our wonderful dog Trooper. He even peaked the interest of my teenage son to become involved. I highly recommend him and his behavioral techniques.
If you want immediate results, contact Bark Busters! My 10 year old Lab mix Sugar had been the pack leader for too long. I wasn't sure if she was too old, but I learned from Ryan McPherson that you can still teach an old dog new tricks. And that I could learn how to take over as pack leader. Ryan's patient but firm instructions were easy to follow and Sugar has responded very quickly. I highly recommend Ryan with Bark Busters especially if your dog can be a bit "challenging" at times!
We used Kyle McNulty at the Alpharetta location to help with our dog who would bark the entire time any guest was at our house. Now we have the skills on getting the dog to relax and be comfortable with others around. I was surprised at how willing they were to keep scheduling appointments and left it up to us to decide when our dog was ready to part ways. Of course, we can call them again if she develops another problem at no additional charge since we purchased the lifetime guarantee!
I don't often write recommendations, but felt the need to recommend Bark Busters and Cheryl Zander to anyone who needs help with their dog. My fiancé and I recently brought home a Havanese puppy whom we named May. May appeared to have an average temperament when we watched her with her litter, but turned out to be incredibly strong-willed. When we got her home May started showing signs of separation anxiety, attention barking, and grooming anxiety. We knew we were in over our heads and needed help. I researched and researched until I found Bark Busters. Cheryl Zander from Bark Busters came to our home and spent a few hours with us working with May. I noticed a difference in May after the first lesson. Initially I felt silly using the Bark Buster methods, but quickly became comfortable with them because they work! May is a changed dog. She now fully understands what we expect from her and enjoys the challenge of responding to our commands. We’ve had two lessons thus far with Cheryl and can’t believe the magic she’s worked with May. My advice to those of you considering Bark Busters is that you truly have to commit to their methods and put in the effort required of you. We are so incredible pleased and feel that the benefits far outweigh the expense. We’ll have a well-behaved, loving dog for years to come thanks to Bark Busters and Cheryl Zander.
Max came and really got our dog Charlie on the right track. With just one visit we were able to establish a strong set of behavior adjustments, with kindness, clarity and ease. Highly recommended and well worth the expense. Thanks Bark Busters!
Bob and Judy Padgett are excellent dog trainers. They were insightful about our dog's disposition. They are easy to work with and learn from. They are flexible in scheduling. We would highly recommend them...especially now that our dog is so much more agreeable and manageable!
I have known Cheryl Zander through our work together on behalf of the local Humane Society. She has always had a remarkable way with dogs. When she told me she was buying a Bark Buster franchise I was so excited for her - and for her future clients! There is no doubt this is her calling. She has since come over to provide her BB service to my household. I have a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and a Tall Skinny Mutt. They both charge the front door and jump up when a guest arrives. Within 90 minutes of her two hour visit my dogs were sitting calmly away from the front door for the first time ever! And the training method was positive, effective and most importantly easily understood by my dogs. I will say here what I told a potential client who called me for a reference for Cheryl. You cannot go wrong engaging Cheryl. The result will be better behaved and happier dogs - and therefore a happier household. Joan Harbin, Georgia
