Beware!
"I used the Lambert St. location twice with no apparent problem. I used their Cheshire B. Road location in November 11 and I will never use their services again. On my way home I open the windows on the car because of the bad odor. My westie had clumps of feces dry out on her back and under the tail. I felt badly for leaving her there for ten days. It took a good bath an scissors to clean up the nastiness. I was offered free grooming by the manager but I will never take her there again. If you still take the chance of leaving your dog there do not ask for a bath, so you can check your family member for cleanness."

Convenient, Friendly, Dog Loves it.
My dog goes to DayCare here occasionally when I have to work long hours. She's a bit shy, but comes home smiling and tired after playing here. True, there is a lot of turnover, and employees don't always go out of their way to help you. However, ALL of them are affectionate to the dogs, and they go outside and play with them rather than stand around. There's an indoor and outdoor play area, and the prices are reasonable.

To the previous poster, the 'investigation' against Barking Hound Village seems to be nothing more than a smear campaign. I wasn't going to continue to send my dog here as recently just for financial reasons, but after reading that post, you've inspired me to give even more money to BHV. This is an organization that seeks to reduce the sick level of euthanizations that previously occurred in Fulton County, and exhibits care and compassion towards animals. Highly recommended.

Barking Hound getting Better
I had formerly posted a review hearing they were under investigation for Animal Abuse (because of the connection to Fulton County Animal Shelter)

I felt I needed to update my Post to better reflect the new status. I've heard that was cleared (and there are not issues with Barking Hound Village itself).

I find the staff Very Friendly. (Carrie I think her name is and another girlMarjon(Sp?) I think are especially very nice.

So-So Grooming
When I adopted my first dog, 4 years ago, I took her to BHV for grooming several times. I liked the first grooming that she received very much and requested the same groomer by name when making subsequent appointments. The last two times, the groomer was not the person I made the appointment with. When I asked why this was, I did not receive a response. I stopped taking my dog there for grooming for 3.5 years. When the groomer I had been using at another place stopped grooming dogs, I took my dogs back to BHV (I adopted a second dog one year ago). The first two times, Kathy groomed my dog and I was pleased with the job she did, so I requested her for the 3rd grooming appointment I made with them. Someone else groomed my dogs and he did not do a good job. One dog was barely clipped and the other one was incredibly uneven. Apparently Kathy was no longer there but I wasn't told that when I made my appointment or dropped off my dogs. After finally speaking with a manager, I was refunded the full amount. However, I will have to have my dogs re-groomed elsewhere.

beware
Some background first. My husband and I are not rich. I am a corporate travel agent. My husband works for his family business overseeing the building of homes. This information about my husband alone should tell you what kind of a year we've been having from a business standpoint . We have a gentle and adored 6 year old lab named Harley. We decided to board Harley at Barking Hound Village on Cheshire Bridge. We returned home on Saturday the 15th, arriving at 7pm. Our plans were to get Harley on Sunday the 16th at 2pm. One hour after arriving home on the 15th, Barking Hound Village called to let us know Harley had been attacked by another dog. We waited through 2 more update calls; then decided to head for the pet emergancy room at Pets are People Too at Ansley. (we were exhaused…having been traveling home since 8am). When we arrived we were informed Harley would need surgery. The employess at Barking Hound told us the attack dog was a suspected boxer/pit mix and was completely unprovoked. At 11pm the vet told us Harley would need drainage tubes in her neck, medication, and an estimated recovery of 7 to 10 days. The bill was over $400.00. The employee from Barking Hound contacted her manager to ask how the bill should be settled; and basically he stated Barking Hound was not responsible for the attack or the bill.
