I recently boarded my dog at Barking Hound Village Lofts. I love the layout of the place and the staff was extremely friendly and accomodating. The prices are very reasonable so I decided to also get a bath and groom. I was very pleased with how my dog looked and smelled when I picked him up and the quality of the service was just as good when I picked up as when I dropped him off. I highly recommend The Lofts and will be using them as often as I can.

Great staff, great location and they take wonderful care of my Brittany. She is a seizure dog and they have taken great care of her. There is always someone on duty who has had medical training and know just what to do when a seizure occurs. Cannot say enough about the care and concern the team has for all of our pets. I have taken my Brittany to this location for 6 years and have absolutely no complaints. Recommend Barking Hound at Somerset to everyone! My thanks to the great team who work here!

"Two paws up" for the Lofts. My dog can't wait to run in the door, the people are great, and she is always clean, happy and healthy when I pick her up. I can't imagine leaving my dog with anyone else.

We've been taking our Vizsla pup to BHV for almost a year now. She is 14 mos old and full of energy. Since the second day at BHV, our little fur baby gets so excited the minute we turn on the street. This speaks volumes to me- that she really enjoys going there. The people are wonderful and the customer service is the best we've experienced- most people do not have any customer service anymore. The people at BHV go above and beyond any chance they get. We are thankful to BHV for all the help with our energetic pup- she is such a happy, socialized dog because of BHV and all of the wonderful people that work there.

I have a new puppy but took my previous dog to multiple boarding places around town when he was still alive. What I love about the Lofts is the way the staff treats and cares for the dogs. It's setting is an industrial loft space so if you want the Ritz then go there. They have private suites for the parents who want their beloved pet in a bigger and quiter area. Bottom line is that I trust the staff and know that they treat my new pup with amazing care. My new pup, who has more energy than he knows what to do with, comes home tired from playing and runs towards the door each time we arrive. This place is top notch!

I took my dogs there to get groomed and I walked out in about 1 minute. This place looks like a dungeon. Its dirty and the groomers table is nasty to say it nicely. I would HIGHLY recommend that you take your pet elsewhere.

the thing that's consistent for the three years i've known BHV is that the dogs are the primary concern. "concrete crates" and whatnot give a negative connotation, one that's not entirely accurate. sure, it was a warehouse, sure it's "loft-like" and so sure it has concrete floors, but the kennels are (minimum) 4x6 feet, NOT made of concrete (they're actually chain-link). there are crates for tiny pups ad h-u-g-e kennels for larger kids / families. probably 14x10. and the suites upstairs are lovely! every BHV facility has a person / couple who live on-site, so there's *always* sonmeone around, just in case. the staff might be brusque at times, but they give more than a crap about the dogs - it's why they're there :) i suggest taking a tour at a quiet time (at a busy time there's a very good chance that everyone is busy puppy-caring!) and making your own mind up. btw weekday mornings after 930 and before noon are quiet times, as are weekends, but sadly there's only one person working the lobby so if they're busy you're gonna have to wait.

I sent my dog to the lofts after it came highly recommended by a friend. I was told they had pools and a great big playground for the pups and that it was just the best in town. I was appalled that he came back with two bites in his ears that were still bloody. It's understandable that it can happen but no mention of it at all and they didn't even bother to clean the area, it was dried blood. Previous boarding places have called any time to let you know that it happened, discovering later that nobody noticed or didn't care really concerned me. I had taken a brief look around and also was really disappointed with the concrete crates scattered about on the floor, it just wasn't the type of place I expected. I've heard only good things about them previously but it was not up to my standards.

My dog really likes this place. She has some aggression issues with other dogs and needs to "warm up" to dogs first. They always send her out with the calmer group so she can convince herself that she is the "baddest" dog in the park and then they let her run around with the dogs in her age/behavior-apporpriate group. I always call and check in during the day and ask how she's doing and they always tell me honestly how she is doing. She always comes back happy and worn out and that's what I like. However the last few times I've brought her back from there, she's come back with fleas. She's a white short-haired dog and I can see every flea on her if she even has them, so I know before going in that she doesn't have a flea on her. When I get her back, whether it's from doggie daycare or from boarding, she is covered with fleas. I have had to flea-bomb my apartment and bathe her a few times after bringing her back the last few times. Otherwise I have no complaints. I have since found a pet sitter to keep my dog overnight when I go out of town, and that's better since she doesn't come back with fleas, but I still recommend BHV.

This place is awesome. Ran across them when I was living in Midtown and totally lucked out. Very nice facilities and it really seems like the staff cares about my dog. They know his name and my dog always comes back clean and in good spirits. They are very accomodating - we have had many times where last minute accomodations or extended stays were needed.

I'm a pet owner that usually feels guilty leaving town and boarding my pets. However, I think my 2 dogs would rather be at barking hound than anywhere else - even their home! My dogs always come back from a stay at Barking Hound happier than when I dropped them off.
