Unfortunately, there are people who believe they should pay us the discount prices for supplies that they find on the internet. We buy our stock from reputable suppliers, who give us excellent prices because of the volume of our business. This means we can give you great prices PLUS warranties on parts and labor. Yes, you could buy an element more cheaply on the internet and get someone off the street to install it for you - but why would you want to?
I recently experienced an outage to my heating system on a Saturday. After searching through the Kudzu referrals/reviews, I was not able to find many companies that had weekend service hours, UNTIL I stumbled upon Barron's Heating and Air Conditioning. I called and spoke with David who was very professional and knowledgeable. He was able to come out to my home within a few hours. Fixed a blown fuse within 10 minutes. And the best part was that Barron's gave me the BEST repair price out of all of the companies I contacted. I will continue to use and refer them to everyone I know. ~Satisfied Customer~

I had them come over for a service visit and paid the $60 fee. Their price proposal to fix my cooling system included the cost of a new evap coil that was still under warranty. I check with competitors and they also identified this and I got the job done for $800 LESS than what Barron's had proposed to me. I felt like they were trying to nickel and dime me during their visit - and this suspicion was fully confirmed by saving over $800 by going with Triad. --- In response to Barron's response: 1) I told Barron's my house was bought new in Year 2007. Every other competitor immediately knew that the evap coil would still be under warranty. And it was. Thus, there was significant savings compared to Barron's quote that included "purchasing" a new one. 2) My conclusion - A) Barron's is honest but incompetent and not fit to do this line of work OR B) they were trying to make me pay for a new evap coil that they would have got free of charge with it still under warranty.

Response to review on 11/30/10: Our service charge is $56, not $60. At the time, there was no indication that the evaporator coil was under warranty. For the customer's sake, we hope that their system issues were completely and correctly addressed. It seems very unlikely to us that another company could do a job for $800 less than us, and do it right. Response to reply on 12/1/10: As before, we wish you the best of luck. Have a wonderful holiday season, and a joyous and prosperous 2011.
Back in June my AC stopped working. We were not getting any cool air. We called several companies and a couple would say they were coming to our home and never showed up finally I found Barron's we called and got an immediate response they showed up when they said and service tech Raymond was Great! He explained to us what was wrong and our options. Highly recommend Barron's !

I live in another state and own a home in the Atlanta area that I lease out. When my tenant called me with AC issues I called Barron's HVAC and I can't say enough about the quality of service I have received. The owner, David, was prompt at responding to my calls and had the problem taken care of within a couple of days. He communicated with my tenant so as to not inconvenience her as well as with me to keep me informed about what repairs were needed and what the price would be. There were no surprises and I felt confident every step of the way in the work that ways being done. Unlike many service professionals, David explained things to me simply and thoroughly while never making me feel like an idiot. It's easy to take advantage of a homeowner who lives out-of-state, but David's price was extremely fair compared to what other companies were asking for similar work. I would defintely use Barron's again.

We met the owner when he was with his previous company and not strayed away from him with the new company. Came out today, and instead of making us buy a new motor for our AC unit, the servicemen fixed it and showed me how to do it if I ever need to again. Great guys! Our friends love them too. -Greg-Lawrenceville

I am a repeat customer from a year ago. I called David at 10 am, he was at my door at 11am, and his guys were at my house at 1:30pm to fix my broken furnace. He could have said we needed a brand new entire HVAC unit but instead was honest and told us our AC was fine, we just needed a new furnace! THAT'S honesty you can trust! And, beyond that, David and his company are ALWAYS thinking about my family, down to knocking on the door instead of ringing the bell knowing that my children were sick and he didn't want to wake them. THAT is why I return to them. Trustworthy work and considerate people. Thanks again, David and Barrons!!! You are FANTASTIC!

I am embarrassed that I recommended Barron's to a friend based on Kudzu reviews. Serviceman was in and out in less than 15 minutes, didn't diagnose anything, and the problem was worse when he left. The service man was told the compressor was slogging oil with high side going from 200-500psi. Serviceman didn't even put his gauges on the high side. Instead he put gauge only on low side and injected 2# of freon, hosed off condenser coil and immediately left. Less than 15 minutes later compressor was again shutting down due to over charge of freon. Slogging will destroy a compressor quickly. Customer left message on Barron's answering machine. Call was never returned. Save your money and look elsewhere!

We were actually the second company to be called out, and we went on a Saturday for $56. Like the previous company, we told this customer that the compressor needed to be changed. Our technician washed the unit for free after measuring the high head pressures. This was to bring the head pressure down and to try to prolong the life of the compressor. The Freon was added to try to cool things down. We used Band-aids on the problem, since the customer did not want to address the real issue, and unfortunately the Band-aids were not enough.
On the hottest evening of the summer, our a/c broke down. We called Barron's at about 9:00 (after calling other a/c "emergency" repair companies and we could not get thru to anyone and no one returned our call. Raymond took our call and because it is summer-he had 2 other calls in front of us. He was at our home at 10:15 the next morning (as promised) and fixed our air conditioner for a fair price. It has worked great since then. We would recommend Barron's (especially Raymond) in a heartbeat!

We're glad we could help!
I called the office on a Monday afternoon, and the call was forwarded to a technician in the field who had to call me back. He made an appointment to come before noon on Tuesday, but when I called to check on his arrival time he pawned me off on the owner. The owner said he'd come at 2 but never did and never called. I called Reliable instead, and they were.

We are very sorry this happened and apologize for the inconvenience. We have reviewed our process for scheduling appointments to prevent this from recurring. Thank you for letting us know about your experience.
Monday 6/7/10: called Barron's and they came out in record time. My unit had frozen over the weekend and I had turned it off. They discussed what I needed, and presented a couple of options...and then replaced my coil the same day. No fuss, no hassle, good price (I called around!). Thanks!

Based on excellent reviews for this business on Kudzu, I scheduled an AC tune-up appointment with Barron's. David and Raymund showed up and started work on internal and external units. Here is what they didn't do - Barron's tune-up doesn't include new filter for the air-handler. They replaced filter with my spare filter - Their tune-up doesn't include any unit clean up such as washing outdoor coil. - Their tune-up doesn't include coil inspection. My AC's outdoor coil was not inspected. - they don't read Amps on outdoor unit - they don't measure temperature of cool air at the supply vents. What they do is - kind of visual inspection but not everything. - read Freon charge. if they read Freon charge low be careful with the price. They'll tell you price for per pound not an estimated cost based on what they read from the gauge. I was charged $180 for 6 pounds Freon which only costs $6-$8 per pound. And since I was told only per pound price I just thought that my unit needs around 1 pound Freon charge. If I was told my unit may require 2-3 pounds Freon I wouldn't accept this service for an AC system which is been suspected with freon leak. And don't tell them you think about new system otherwise your tune-up will turn out a sales call. I don't understand how come this type of business would be appreciated that much on Kudzu.

Our $49 check-up involves a 12-step inspection of all moving components and wiring. We do change air filters, which are supplied by the home owner. The home owner supplies the filter because there are so many different types filters and sizes that we cannot possibly carry every single kind. The filters cost up to $15 dollars, depending on which one is required. Having the home owner supply the filter saves the customer additional cost. The check-up does not include cleaning condensers and coils. If we think the condenser and coil need to be cleaned, we will tell you, and you can decide whether you want the work done. A $56 service call will get us out to you to diagnose problems. After we figure out the problem, we can give you an estimate of what the repair will cost. When we recommend adding Freon to your unit, we weigh it and will show you how much we've added. Freon retails at $30/lb, not $6-$8. Overcharging, adding extra costs, etc, are not the way we do business. We are committed to being transparent, doing the job right, and keeping our customers. Unfortunately, you can't always make everybody happy. This customer was offered a leak detection and declined.
We needed a new furnace (23 yo)and opted to upgrade everything. Barron's responded quickly and EDUCATED me on my options. They talked to me intelligently, instead of just barely talking to me and measuring my area and telling me a price with out options. Barrons was able to come the next day and performed a fantastic job. The technicians are highly skilled and very polite. Nothing was hal-A** done. B4, the last co. had such a mess, not done right. These guys corrected everything. They cleaned up afterward and disposed of the old units. I have never been so tickled pink about the high quality of their technicians and products. TOTALLY worth it!!
