On the hottest evening of the summer, our a/c broke down. We called Barron's at about 9:00 (after calling other a/c "emergency" repair companies and we could not get thru to anyone and no one returned our call. Raymond took our call and because it is summer-he had 2 other calls in front of us. He was at our home at 10:15 the next morning (as promised) and fixed our air conditioner for a fair price. It has worked great since then. We would recommend Barron's (especially Raymond) in a heartbeat!

We're glad we could help!
I called the office on a Monday afternoon, and the call was forwarded to a technician in the field who had to call me back. He made an appointment to come before noon on Tuesday, but when I called to check on his arrival time he pawned me off on the owner. The owner said he'd come at 2 but never did and never called. I called Reliable instead, and they were.

We are very sorry this happened and apologize for the inconvenience. We have reviewed our process for scheduling appointments to prevent this from recurring. Thank you for letting us know about your experience.
Monday 6/7/10: called Barron's and they came out in record time. My unit had frozen over the weekend and I had turned it off. They discussed what I needed, and presented a couple of options...and then replaced my coil the same day. No fuss, no hassle, good price (I called around!). Thanks!

Based on excellent reviews for this business on Kudzu, I scheduled an AC tune-up appointment with Barron's. David and Raymund showed up and started work on internal and external units. Here is what they didn't do - Barron's tune-up doesn't include new filter for the air-handler. They replaced filter with my spare filter - Their tune-up doesn't include any unit clean up such as washing outdoor coil. - Their tune-up doesn't include coil inspection. My AC's outdoor coil was not inspected. - they don't read Amps on outdoor unit - they don't measure temperature of cool air at the supply vents. What they do is - kind of visual inspection but not everything. - read Freon charge. if they read Freon charge low be careful with the price. They'll tell you price for per pound not an estimated cost based on what they read from the gauge. I was charged $180 for 6 pounds Freon which only costs $6-$8 per pound. And since I was told only per pound price I just thought that my unit needs around 1 pound Freon charge. If I was told my unit may require 2-3 pounds Freon I wouldn't accept this service for an AC system which is been suspected with freon leak. And don't tell them you think about new system otherwise your tune-up will turn out a sales call. I don't understand how come this type of business would be appreciated that much on Kudzu.

Our $49 check-up involves a 12-step inspection of all moving components and wiring. We do change air filters, which are supplied by the home owner. The home owner supplies the filter because there are so many different types filters and sizes that we cannot possibly carry every single kind. The filters cost up to $15 dollars, depending on which one is required. Having the home owner supply the filter saves the customer additional cost. The check-up does not include cleaning condensers and coils. If we think the condenser and coil need to be cleaned, we will tell you, and you can decide whether you want the work done. A $56 service call will get us out to you to diagnose problems. After we figure out the problem, we can give you an estimate of what the repair will cost. When we recommend adding Freon to your unit, we weigh it and will show you how much we've added. Freon retails at $30/lb, not $6-$8. Overcharging, adding extra costs, etc, are not the way we do business. We are committed to being transparent, doing the job right, and keeping our customers. Unfortunately, you can't always make everybody happy. This customer was offered a leak detection and declined.
We needed a new furnace (23 yo)and opted to upgrade everything. Barron's responded quickly and EDUCATED me on my options. They talked to me intelligently, instead of just barely talking to me and measuring my area and telling me a price with out options. Barrons was able to come the next day and performed a fantastic job. The technicians are highly skilled and very polite. Nothing was hal-A** done. B4, the last co. had such a mess, not done right. These guys corrected everything. They cleaned up afterward and disposed of the old units. I have never been so tickled pink about the high quality of their technicians and products. TOTALLY worth it!!

Excellent service provider with first-rate people. They did a number of things for us; the work was in our crawl space, and they completed all of the work perfectly. Everyone who is employed by the company is extremely nice, from the owner to the person who answers the telephone to the mechanics that are sent to complete the work. We highly recommend their services!

Had Barron's come out and replace duct work and they did a great job. The price was very reasonable and the work done in a timely fashion. They even made a follow-up visit the following day to ensure the work was up to code. I would highly recommend them.

Highly recommended company. They identified our issues, told us how they would solve them and even gave us hints as to how to save even more money. No pushy saleman tactics, just honest service, helpful, and a good price. Very happy!!

I called on a Wednesday morning and talked with David. I explained that I was having low air flow in my home, and therefore the home was cold. David was available the same day to come out and look at our home and help us solve the problem. He fixed the problem and had to come back the next day for a part...but did not charge any extra for his time. He was straightforward, honest, and I will recommend Barron's to everyone on the block! Give these guys a call and you will be glad you did.

Barron's service was awesome! We got home from work and found that the heater was not working (on the coldest night of the year), so we called Barron's. They were here in a half hour and had the problem fixed in fifteen minutes, for a better rate than any other businesses. We will definitely use Barron's again for any heating/cooling needs.

My experience with Barron's was so terrific, I was compelled to join Kudzu just to post a rating and review. These guys are the real deal. Two nights before Thanksgiving our washing machine flooded our laundry room, dumping gallons of soapy water into our HVAC duct system. We called Barron's at 8:15 a.m. and David was at our house by 9:30. He and his colleague were honest, knowledgeable, thorough, had all the right equipment and charged an unbelievably reasonable fee. They had the entire situation cleaned, repaired and sealed in half a day. I now proudly hang their magnet on my fridge for any future needs. Thanks, David!

My wife and I came back from a long vacation to find our upstairs was cold. I discovered the pilot light was out and would not stay consistently on. My wife called Barron's this morning and within an hour Raymond was at our door. He discovered the issue was a faulty thermocouple and quickly replaced it to fix our issue. While there he also provided an assessment of our current heating/cooling systems so we know what to expect going forward. I would highly recommend Barron's for great service at reasonable prices.

We hired Barron's to clean our ductwork and the gentlemen that came to our home were polite, professional, and prompt. They were honest about what work needed to be done and what could wait until later- no high-pressure add ons or games. They were very considerate- took into consideration my daughters' allergies when recommending the best way to sterilize the ducts. I would highly recommend this company.

After getting an inspection done at 3pm I found out I needed to check my HVAC and I did not know anyone to call to help me. I went to yellowpages.com looked for the top rated companies but there was not one company that was willing to come after 3pm I called Barron's and ask what does it take to have someone check my units and ensure that they are it working status? He said that he would me it out to the house the same day at 5pm and it was only $69.00. That was great I book it and willing to meet with him at 5pm. At 4:24 I got a call and it was the tech he told me that he was only 5mins away from the house. I had to rush to him I was happy and surprised. He waited and every thing was on the ball . he explained everything to me in clear detail that was great. then he told me what would help my unites work even better I can tell that he really cares about my well being . This was one of the best moments that I ever had from a company. Would recommend it to any one . It was very cool.
