While I have no beef with Dr. Bartroff's competence, he tries to sell completely unnecessary items to boost his profits. He "required" a special mouthwash after treatment that was $35 and tasted so horrible I almost threw up. Then after a cleaning he charged $30 for fluoride wash that my insurance rejected. With fluoride in water supply and toothpaste, this was ridiculous. He reminds one of a car dealer trying to sell fabric protector on a new car that has a leather interior!

Beware! He does not join dental insurance networks, so I ended up paying much more out of pocket than I would have if I gone to one listed on my insurance website's network. After I overpaid by several hundred dollars, it took a firm letter and a phone call to get my money back. The practice will bill you for an initial consultation, file your insurance (out of network), and after six months I realized that I was not refunded that initial consultation fee. The periodontist seems more about generating income than interest in providing good dental care. After the overpayment was brought to their attention, they billed for two bottles of mouthwash to reduce my refund. Go elsewhere!

I take really good care of my teeth but for some reason I have needed tons of dental work lately. Dr. Bartruff says its cause I grind my teeth and don't use a mouth guard like I should. Anyway, this guy is great. He talks really fast but thats cause he has a lot to teach and explain. He has been the best at education of the many dentists I have been to. If you are here then you have a specialist problem because he is a periodontist. I most love him for not only doing a great job on my implants but for charging me HALF of what I was quoted by another dentist. And he hasn't charged me any lab fees, surgical kit fees, or other made up fees that others do. His front of house staff also are first rate. Really, the most professional.
