Baxters Sports Bar

I LOVE SPORTS. MY FIRST TIME GOING TO BAXTERS WAS ON FEBUARY 6, 2010 FOR A UFC SHOWING. YOU HAVE TO GO THERE YOURSELF TO WITNES THE VIEWING. NOT A BAD SEAT IN THE HOUSE. TOO MANY HDTV's TO COUNT. AT LEAST 5 SERVERS ALL WERE VERY PLESANT. THE CUSTOMERS WERE VERY COURTEOUS. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND BAXTERS FOR FOOTBALL, AS YOU COULD VIEW AT LEAST 8 GAMES AT ONE TIME WITHOUT GETTING OUT OF YOUR SEAT. WE STAYED FOR LIVE MUSIC AFTERWARDS WHICH WAS NOT IN OUR PLANS. I PLAN ON GOING IN THE NEAR FUTURE TO PLAY BEER PONG ON A MONDAY NIGHT. I HAVE READ A COUPLE OTHER REVIEWS AND QUESTION THEIR MOTIVE. MY EXPERIENCE WAS FAR FROM WHAT I READ. I AM TELLING ALL MY FRIENDS TO TRY BAXTERS. THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING ME TO EXPRESS MY OPINION

I went last night and waited for 30-40 min AT THE BAR and finally had to ask for a beer.I was just at awe with the bad service while Flo and Myrna bitched and drank soda pop.""Oh I didn't know you wanted something"" after my first beer.

The wait staff is normally courteous although very slow, the bartenders are rude, especially the heavy gal. Their food is always greasy no matter what you order and tastes a little less than average at best. The prices are about average but for what you get in both food and drinks they are too much. \r\rThey have live music on weekends and it's usually a fairly good dance band but the atmosphere makes it a total meat market, not a nice place to take your date and have a good time. There is plenty of parking. They now have karaoke a couple nights a week and it gets fairly busy but the hostess is obviously new to the karaoke business. Or she just doesn't care. \r\rIf you want a night out to cut loose and do whatever you want and maybe hook up this would be a good choice. If you want a nice place to dine and have drinks then dance, I wouldn't recommend it.

Baxter's is the only real ""bar"" in town, so every 3-4 months my boyfriend and I venture in to see if anythings changed.. I'm sorry to say no. First of all It smells TERRIBLE!! It smells as if a hundred construction workers came in after a long days work and took there socks and shoes off. It smells awfull. Secondly, the bathrooms are atrocious. The garbages are over flowing with trash, graffiti on the stall walls, the floors look like they havnt been vaccumed in months and overall very unorganized. \r\rOne of the worst parts is, when the staff goes back into the kitchen and opens the kitchen door, you can actually SEE the other staff smoking back in the kitchen!! Um, hello?? Isnt that against health code?\r\rMostly the staff there are just rude. The girls come and hang themselves over my boyfriend.. I guess trying to get an extra $1 tip.. Its a gross bar and Im sad to say I dont think I'll ever go back in there again....

In all fairness I haven't ventured in to Baxters in at least a year. A few years ago we used to go often, as they had a full menu and decent prices. One day we went in and asked for a menu and were given a BROWN PAPER BAG with handwritten ""menu"" and prices. This wasn't a fluke as it happened a few more times after that.\r\rI guess if you want cheap beer and your feet to stick to the floor I'd recommend going there. It's too bad as it's the only true bar in the area, you'd think they'd clean the atmosphere up and make a killing.
