Best vet clinic around

I have been with Dr. Dempsey from the beginning, and I can say without hesitation that he is absolutely the best around. He has taken such good care of my dogs and cats, with so much caring and compassion - not only for them, but for me, too. He is up on all the latest info and technology, and I feel very lucky that my animals can benefit from his expertise. He truly wants the best for all our pets, and I have never felt pushed to do anything that I didn't want to do. His staff are all wonderful - I feel like they're all part of my family. If you really love your animals, and want to do the best thing for them, this is the place to go.

pushing unneeded tests-dumpy office-dumpy dvm also

This vet is EXTREMELY pushy with jacking up your bill as high as possible with testing procedures that are unnecessary - especially on a healty dog just getting vacs. You have to insist over and over to not have extra unneeded bloodwork, extra tests, etc. Very unprofessional. They also are pushing some insurance package and some pay in advance program. I will never go back - there are way more professional vet and better educated ones to boot who do not nearly drag you down to get all the money they can from you. It is a better deal to go to the emergency clinic on Calder Rd/45 if your animal is sick, and if not sick - well there is just no reason to use that dumpy litt;e place that is so desparate for money. I would never take a sick animal there. I have used vets for years and never have I came across an office like this little mistake.

Nice Experience

My experience was pleasant. I find it odd the ratings are either 5 star or 1 star and nothing in between. \r The Vet. was very thorough and shared a wealth of information with me. \r Some may see that extra information as an upsale, I know I do too. My mechanic, my dentist and my doctor do it. They make preventitive maintenance recommendations and I tell them and the vet, Yea you're right, but not today, and move on. (Unless it's something serious)\r I was pleased with the additional information and glad that they did not assume what I would or would not care about. I recommend this vet to anyone looking in the Webster and Clear Lake City area for a vet. \r My wife is currently considering their prepaid wellness plans and we are probably going to do it.

A vet with a heart and absolutely competent

My husband and I have been visiting family here and we brought our dogs along with us and one of them got sick. Our daughter recommended the Bay Area Animal Clinic and we are so happy that we did went there. I truly believe that Dr. Dempsey saved our dog's life by being so caring, engaged and professional. Brisco was diagnosed really fast with accuracy , precision and above all, honesty .If we were to move here I wouldn't never trust another vet to trust with the care of our dogs (which more than dogs are family members to us). I highly recommend Dr. Dempsey and his staff and I am very thankful for the care they provided to Brisco. Thanks a million, Doc!

Bay Area animal clinic

This vet seems to be very interested in jacking your bill as high as possible with testing procedures that are either overpriced or unnecessary. I received an estimate for procedures that more than doubled without a phone call to even explain why it was needed, and the cat wasn't that sick. I've taken my animals to overnight emergency care and paid much less, animals close to death...with full testing. You know the feeling you get when something simply isn't right? Well, something isn't kosher in Kansas, and my wallet is missing. Won't be going there again, it's cheaper to go to the emergency clinic on Calder Rd/45 at 4 o'clock in the morning. AVOID.

Ron only made one mistake

Bay Area Animal Clinic is an extremely unprofessionally run clinic. The records of treatment are poor (sometimes nonexistant, and frequently incorrect), many treatments are done by poorly qualified staff, and the vet does not listen to the pets owner. His diagnosis is a tunnel vision diagnosis, and he seems to be more interested in charging for medically unneccessary procedures than properly caring for the pet. I had used Dr Schulte for many years and found him to be a knowledgable, caring, and competent practitioner. His office was superbly run and records were always available and clear. Not once in over 20 years with Ron did i encounter missing or mislabeled records. I find none of these characteristics there now. My pets have moved to another, competent Vet. I advise all pet owners to stay away from this Vet Clinic. If i had made the change sooner, the most wonderful sweetest dog that i have ever owned might still be alive today.

Unprofessional and questionable practice

This clinic is one to avoid. My pets had been clients before the sale to the current owner. My mistake was conining to go there. I found several examples of missing, innacurate, and misfiled records. Treatments appear to be administered by poorly trained office personnel. To me that is a definite sign of a poorly run business. Adding to that is the Vet seems to have treatment tunnel vision - wanting to continue a course of treatment without examining the facts and listening to the owners. Seems more interested in performing expensive procedures than in providing quality care for the pet. My pets are no longer clients there. If i had moved to other Vet sooner, and had been able to promptly get my pet's records from this office, my sweet baby might have gotten a correct diagnosis in time to save him. He certainly did not need the expensive surgery recommended by this Vet. Beware!!!

Not exactly warm and fuzzy

Vet is arrogant, cold, and clinical.I have shoes with more personality. Forced to watch a video while waiting for the vet to return.Late to appointments and questions everything you say. Accused us of not providing flea, and heartworm preventive even though our dog was neg for both.

Great new vet!

Dr. Dempsey is a great vet. He is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He is also very thorough, explained everything clearly, and spent more time with us than our previous vet. We highly recommend him!

Dr. Shulte Picked a great Replacement!

I find the previous comment completely untrue. I found Dr. Dempsey to be great. He is engaging, caring and totally up on the latest medical techniques. Obviously there are always going to be people who do not like change, but Dr. Schulte could not have selected a better person to replace his style of caring for my pets. I highly recommend this clinic if you want solid, quality care for your pet.\r\r
