The last time I went to Bazaar Del Mundo it was to find a hat pin. I didn't know I was looking for a lapel pin to stick in a hat. I found four or five real hat pins, the kind used to stick flowered hats on lady's heads last century. It was a wonderful experience. Oh, we also got the 'hat pins'

Ever since the New York company took over the lease, it has never been the same. It's turned into a tourist trap now with blah food and overpriced shopping. Visit Old Town, but don't go out of your way to visit Bazaar del Mundo.

For the record, Bazaar del Mundo was created and is still owned and operated by Diane Powers. We moved in May 2005, Our new location is 4133 Taylor Street next to Casa Guadalajara, our award-winning Mexican restaurant. The site you visited is our FORMER home. The land and buildings there are owned by the State of California and managed by the State Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR). It was DPR that awarded a new lease on the buildings to Delaware North, a Buffalo, New York corporation. Neither DPR nor Delaware North now or has ever owned or operated the Bazaar del Mundo. While we do not want to comment on your review of the new operator of the concession inside the State park, we do want to invite you and those reading your review "to go out of their way to visit" the one-and-only Bazaar del Mundo in its new home, just one block north of our old location.
