worthless
This entire business is a joke. By using the word "Bureau" they attempt to fool people into think they are a government organization or someone with power to resolve complaints. They have absolutely no power whatsoever. All they do is correspond with businesses and consumers and whoever speaks last wins. They do zilch for you as a member. Their ratings systems are worthless. Don't waste your time.

Smoke and mirrors business!
Consumers and Businesses alike should steer clear-- Stong attempt to act "non-profit" however they are low on professional service and are motivated totally by selling more and more services to businesses. They follow up on problems with a salesperson and strongly suggest if one pays to belong they will be "protected from additional problems.

Junk Organization
The Better Business Bureau is a misleading name. This enterprise is part welfare office as it protects its staff of hapless sub government-grade employees from having to make their way in the natural world. The BBB is also part shakedown operation as they nickel and dime companies to death with their memberships fees, online accreditation fees, premium listing fees, etc. As a business owner, you'll find the quality of leads provided to you from the BBB (they are an advertising company) as very poor. People who look at the BBB tend to be very nervous people who come to you with unreasonable standards, heckle you to death with pointless questions, and then look for any possible excuse to complain when the work if being performed.
Maybe the BBB would be fine for consumers if their ratings accurately represented the quality of companies in the marketplace but it doesn't. The information provided to consumers by the BBB is virtually meaningless. Their dispute resolution process is setup in a way that makes it very easy for companies to buck a complaint. As a consumer if you think that a BBB accreditation means something, think again. BBB membership is something bought and not something earned. For accurate reviews on companies, check online or with state licensing boards.

Horrible
I own a company and was an "accredited" member of the bbb until they attempted to strong arm me into revising content on my website. Basically if I did not hire a third party verification company to conduct independent surveys I could not say that we provided the highest quality service. Of course everything is hushed up with additional spending. Operators are standing by to take (all) of your money.

SCAM
The BBB is a complete scam! I own my own auto shop repair and in order to raise my grade I had to pay them! Unbelieveable! There's no way this is a accurate way to judge companies!

There is another company on Google I have found that is being treated unfairly as well. You can see all the information at www. mechanicsrepsonds. com

Check it out! BBB is a SCAM
