Better Buy Glass Mirror & Screen Co

I have to be honest about my, unpleasant first-time customer experience that I had with Better Buy. As a Section 8 landlord, deadlines and great service are of great importance to me. I recently had service on a rental property of mine because Section 8 made us replace a cracked window and a balancer for a second window. Reluctantly, we had to take time out of our hectic schedule to make several calls to the office to confirm a date when the Service Tech would be by for the repair. I was told by the front office that they do no provide any daily timeframe for repairs, which made it quite difficult for the Section 8 inspector to know what time to come to inspect. After waiting approximately 7 days for the ordered balancer to arrive, I was never told when the part came in, but actually had to call each day to check on it. Moreover, on the day the repair was attempted, the field repair person called a number that clearly stated that I was not at that phone number and never utilized the notes left for antoher number that I had left.Even on the invoice they sent me, it saidted that the back door was open come into repair and lock it back, yet the tech delayed coming because he alleged that he was unable to contact me. Also, the most disappointing thing, the tech broke the window in route to fix it. When he was asked if he would remedy the situation by taking some amount off of the bill, he said "no, i'm the one taking the hit." UH! Please don't waste your money on this company

My main problem was with their administrative department. They have the most unprofessional call people who are very slow and often clueless. I had to call them numerous times to get what I want. I had two instances where they said that the technician will come a certain day, but he never showed up. When I told them this, they tried to pin the blame on me saying that I had the dates confused. They didn’t even try to check if it was their fault or not. I’m being defensive because multiple people told me the same information on that day, yet they still claimed that I had the dates confused.
Their technician's professional ability was questionable. He broke my glass the first time, but he came back to replace it and had it done properly. At least he was polite with the situation. However, I cannot say the same with their call center.
I highly do not recommend asking for a service from them. They will tell you what day they plan to come but never a time frame, so they will keep you guessing. They also make you pay first, adding more stress onto the payer. Their mission statement on their website should read “We will perform the service you paid for at our convenience. Not yours.”

I've used this company for several of my glass needs over the past several years & they've always went out of their way to do a great jobFrom what I understand this is a family owned business, (something you don't hardly find anymore), they have a great administrative staff that's willing to may your transaction as easy as possiblne. this company has been in business since 1978 so they must be doing something correct!!!!!!!!! I just terminated my business relationship with Better Buy Glass due to the same issues as the previous poster (9-15-2007). They installed a faulty mirror in one of my rental units. Even though I've spent over $19,000 with this company, they saw the need to send one of the technicians out to examine the mirror that I told them was damaged. After forking over $19,000, my word should have been good enough for them to promptly replace the mirror without question. The tech that they sent told my tenant that he would have the mirror replaced two days later, but decided after the fact that the damage wasn't significant enough to warrant replacement. This fact was not relayed to me - the customer that had already paid for the damaged mirror. I called Better Buy Glass today to see why the mirror had not been installed two days ago as promised.
