As an older woman living alone, I literally could not run my household without Bill's Yard and Odd Job Service. For years now, they've done a huge range of tasks for me, from landscaping my yard to changing very high light bulbs, along with whatever else I need done. No matter what the task, they always accomplish it efficiently, promptly, and expertly. The owner Bill and those who work for him are unfailingly pleasant and helpful. They work hard and are extremely conscientious in doing a thorough job. I recommend Bill's Yard & Odd Job Service without reservation and with the greatest possible enthusiasm. I'm just one among a throng of satisfied customers; everyone I know who has used them has been extremely pleased with their work.

Spending more time on this because Bill's is unfortunately spinning a completely misleading story: Trash - Contract stated "trash removal" and "clean up". Was NOT told that much of the visible trash wouldn't be removed. I DID NOT expect to have trash "dug up" and that, in fact, was NOT necessary. Simply dragging a plastic leaf rake across area noted produced a 13 gallon bag full of trash that Bill's left behind. Stump - Contract stated stump was to be cut "level with ground surface". Was left sticking out several inches above the surface. Not much different than it was to begin with. This item IS "very objective". Depressions - during estimate, explained that I wanted filled to surrounding yard level. One depression apparently had some stump remnants left in it. Shouldn't this have been discovered during the estimate process? Not that complicated. Nonetheless, Bill's could have called and explained while the job was in progress. This depression and another require me to add additional dirt to bring to proper level for sodding. Bushes - some bushes still left brushing against house, others trimmed back. An uneven job. Nothing was asked for after the fact that was "outside of the scope of the contract". NOTHING. Only the revisiting of some items that were not done up to par. Bill's DID NOT ask for "further thoughts" nor offer to revisit anything. Unfortunately Bill's is very obstinate.

Through our experience, we have worked to provide a very personal relationship with our customers. We ensure that we have a signed agreement between the customer and our company that outlines specifically what was discussed at the estimate walk thru and what work will be completed. The below points are specifically pointed out in this customer's contract:
Basic Trash Removal: Trash was picked up, but not dug up. The trash was picked up from the surface only, which the customer was aware of and was told.
Stump Work: The stump work as discussed in the contract would be cutting down shoots coming off of the stump, but leaving stump in place to help prevent erosion issues; cutting the stumps lower and disturbing soil on the steep bank would have caused increased erosion.
Existing sod was used to replant the fill.
(Delivery of matching sod for the yard was not available and was not included in the contract and certainly should not have been expected)
Filling Depressions: we discussed filling depressions that were under some existing sod; not including removing the large stump that we found beneath the surface (which we went ahead and removed at no extra charge). That stump removal demanded extra dirt, which we supplied at no extra charge and was over and above what, we initially talked about doing. Bottom line the hole was filled. Very objective.
Bush Trimming: Bushes (Azaleas primarily) were trimmed to better the appearance, not to dramatically trim them as it is not the season for this, and the customer was told this, as it would cause the blooming to be reduced contrary to homeowner's goal for listing a house next Spring.
The response from the customer after the job was completed was asking for tasks outside of the scope of the contract to be done and in response to this we used the contract to back up the work we did and demonstrate that all was indeed finished. We asked for further thoughts, but no reply was given beyond his check and his response on Kudzu.
We are deeply sorry that the customer felt dissatisfied, but we know we did what was outlined for the customer as well as that we went above and beyond the contract, and realistically the customer paid in full after originally complimenting the work that was done.
I have a newborn and kept looking at my lawn....not wanting to find the time to go out and rake them up! No worries!!!! I called Bills Yard Service and within two days they were out at my house (in the evening...no less) to see my property, emailed me an estimate within hours and came to do the work within 48 hours. And....they did a FANTASTIC job! There wasn't a leaf on my lawn or driveway when I got home! Thanks Bill's Yard Service!

I was looking or a company to clean my gutters. I did Google searches and was disappointed with my results. One day when driving, I saw one of the "Bill's Yard and Odd Job Service Trucks". I had absolutely no idea of who they were or any reference of them. So I had to take a chance. I'm one that believes in voice his opinion on both good and bad customer service. (I've recently rate another company with very poor marks on this site). My experience with Bill's Yard and Odd Job Service has been nothing but stellar. Both the office staff and Bill stay in touch and communicate with their customers. Bill is very responsive via email and I never had to play "telephone tag" with him. I even received emails from Bill over the weekend. Again, I had no experience with this company and it was just by luck that I heard of them. I would definitely recommend them.

After reading all the positive reviews for Bill, I was really disappointed that my experience seemed so different. I should say first off that we never got to the point where he did any actual work for me because he promised me a bid for a "spring clean-up" of our yard almost two weeks ago and I still haven't gotten anything from him. I know he has my email address and phone number because he has used both to contact me. It's a real shame, because when he came out to take a look at the yard he was very personable and I was looking forward to the possibility of working with him.

We're very sorry that we were not able to help this person within the time frame that they felt reasonable. We try to respond to inquires about services within 24 hours, as we did in this case. This is a very busy time, with the new growing season, and we always give our existing customers priority, but always try to give new clients realistic feedback on waiting periods for scheduling work.
I have been thoroughly impressed with all of the work that Bill has done for me over the past 5 years. He and his staff are friendly, competent and professional. I would recommend them to anyone for anything.

I had them do a lot of clean up in my yard (pulling weeds, trimming hedges, putting in new plants, etc.). It took them a couple of days, but they did a great job and took good care of the clean up. They were prompt and easy to deal with. Highly recommended.

Jim Biddle came out and gave us an estimate that couldn't be beat. (One of the few companies that actually called us back.) They showed up and did a great job clearing out our yard to a manageable state.

Reliable, trustworthy, reasonable prices, does everything from getting rid of yellow jacket nests to spreading wood chips to mowing and blowing. Friendly, consistent workers you can get to know by name.
