I'm the very happy & satisfied owner of 5 y/o Sophie. She has always been happy and healthy. We go daily to our local dog park and she is often at doggy daycare and thus picks up the occassional "STD". I believe that because of her good breeding and excellent genes, she remains overall healthy. But she is a WFT and you have to know what you are getting into with the breed. She is my 2nd and suites me perfectly. If I didn't travel so much with work, I would have another WFT and would get the pup from Birchhurst. No doubt about it. Birchhurst is a first class breeder. Feel free to contact me for pictures. Debbie (email@example.com)

Birchhurst Kennels is the best WFT breeder in the Country. we bought our first WFT 25 years ago, had one of them mated by a Birchhurst champion had a wonderful litter, one of our birchhurst pups was shown by Peter Green. when the original 3 passed, we immediately call Birchhurst to get a new family - we were lucky enough to get siblings from birchhurst...they are wonderful as all our pups from birchhurst have been all show quality, happy great dispositions; trips to vet only for annual shots. can't say enough!

We bought our puppy, Brisco, from Birchhurst Kennels just over 2 years ago. What a delight! He is healthy, loving, and a wonderful puppy. We have tried to work with other kennels when no puppies were available from Birchhurst and had our eyes rudely opened. Luckily we did find a wonderful kennel in Tennessee who had a pup for us (but only after we tried Birchhurst again). But we are getting back on the list because our daughter wants a little girl of her own and these puppies have a special personality.

We purchased our male wire fox terrier from Joyce at Birchhurst almost 4 years ago. We've never had any health issues. He has a great temperament. He is very friendly and happy. He's been a great addition to our family. I can not imagine him not in our life. I highly recommend Joyce and Birchhurst Kennels.

I have a 5 year old wire fox terrier from Birchhurst Kennels. They breed show quality dogs that are beautiful & have fantastic temperaments. My dog is healthy, happy & incredibly smart. Her vocabulary is huge. She is very athletic & we compete in agility trials. The people at Birchhurst are kind, caring people who love their puppies and have many years of experience with this breed. This is my fourth wire fox terrier & my second Birchhurst dog. I highly recommend buying from this breeder!!!

Bought Buddy from Birchurst Kennels in 2006. Now 4 yrs. old Just a Great!! Great!! dog.The whole experience with Birchurst was simply first class. I recommend them to anyone . Bill Coon Clinton,PA
Love Birchhurst Kennels. We have had 2 wires from Joyce and they are the best. Funny, intelligent, healthy and joyful. Everywhere we go folks comment on what handsome dogs they are. Our vet appreciates and enjoys them as well. Snoopy's behavior is modeled after Charles Schulz's wire fox Andy!! Anyway, I would not hesitate to purchase from Birchhurst...so glad we did.
I cannot say enough about the professionalism and superior breeding of Birchhurst Kennels. We have always had wire hair terriers but none was as superbly bred as Bentley from Birchhurst. Bentley is now 5 years old, we got him at 8 weeks from Birchhurst. Everyone remarks about how healthy and strong he is, not to mention loving and friendly to all people and animals. He has no allergy issues or ear and skin infections. He is even-tempered, playful, funny, smart. All he wants to do is play! His temperament is 100% loving. He's a great watch dog, always lets us know when someone is near the house, which is something we encourage. He is high energy (could run all day) but seems happiest curled up on my lap. His markings are AWESOME, truly show-quality. We have owned many wire-hairs over the years, loved them all, but I must say Bentley outshines them all in every way. I highly recommend Birchhurst Kennels. If I thought I could handle two, I'ld get another from Birchhurst in a minute! From Sandra in Hollywood, FL
bought my first wft from Bruce in NC. She was a precious puppy. @ 12 wk had horrible bladder problem.$$ Then @ 6 months horrible allergies started$$$$$. have spent tons of money vet bills due to ear infections, allergy problems, now has Lupus. She is 7 yrs old now and takes more medications than any little dog should endure! She is so sweet. I can say that about her and she is my baby. It breaks my heart!! called breeder about allergy problems and they stated never had any problems??

I have a four year old Birchhurst Fox Terrier and recently helped a friend get a pup from there. The breeder is so caring and responsible and makes you feel very welcome to visit the dogs while you pick a puppy!! I've had terriers all my life and this little guy is my healthiest and sweetest. He wants to be on my lap all the time! He plays a mean game of frisbee making AMAZING catches...!! I would highly recommend this kennel; they state they breed for temperment and they do! Very, very sweet dogs!!!

Former Irish terrier, Giant Schnauzer owners (terrific breeds!), we did lots of research before deciding on a wire fox terrier and then Birchhurst as our kennel ... and glad we did. Our wire fox, Aero, is a lovely boy. He's been a constant delight for our family ... smart, sweet, very easy to live with ... and he's only 10 months. Certainly the easiest dog we've ever had. Our breeder has been at our side the entire time, answering all our silly questions, encouraging us at every turn. I would recommend Birchhurst to anyone looking for a quality wire fox terrier.

My first dog was a son of Birchhurst Bandit. He was the happiest, friendliest, best mannered dog you could ever hope to meet. He was eager to please. He live 13 years nine months. He wasn't the perfect specimen, he had seizures which are common in fox terriers, he went deaf common in white headed fox terriers, he had low thyroid output which is easy to control, near the end he went arthritic. But he was my buddy, my dog, there was never the thought of not keeping him or not doing everything to keep him comfortable. The sad day I put him down, I sent an e-mail to Birchhurst saying it was his last day and thank you for such a wonderful dog. I got a quick reply, she felt my pain and the best thing for me would be to get a new puppy. And I could first pick of any litter. I said my job wouldn't let me give the proper care to a puppy. The next day one of her children e-mailed and said she was sorry and that she had a puppies too if I wanted one. After three long months I got an e-mail about a three year old returned dog. I drove to North Carolina to get a son of Rocky. He is perfect health, even though he is just my pet he is show quality. They didn't want to give me his papers for three months to be sure I was happy and wouldn't return him. He's been my buddy for three years now. Great dogs from great people. Fox terriers are not for everyone, but these people breed some of the best fox terriers for companionship.

I purchased a 7 week old puppy and I learned a very valuable lesson. I urge no one to purchase a puppy where the breeder will only give you a contract that states after two weeks "as is". Our puppy was the most vicious puppy I have ever had the pleasure of being around - he bit the kids, my daughter , and myself. After two weeks with us he was diagnosed with round worms after two more weeks he was diagnosed with hook worms - funny none of our other dogs have ever had this problem. This was to be our granddaughters Christmas present and the Sunday night before Christmas he had a violent seizure and after a $756 vet bill he came home a much weakened and sick looking puppy. After contacing the breeder to get my money back we were told we could get another puppy (yea sure I am going to get another dog from her) and I informed her I did not want another dog I wanted my money back. She refused. Please think long and hard before you spend $2500 in vet bills for a sick puppy then have to put him to sleep and your granddaughter are crying their eyes out and you do not want to go through this type of torture believe me. DO NOT PURCHASE A PUPPY WITH ONLY A TWO WEEK GUARANTEE AS MANY CONGENITAL PROBLEMS WILL NOT SHOW UP FOR SEVERAL MONTHS I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THERE ARE BREEDERS WHO GIVE A ONE YEAR HEALTH GUARANTEE AND OUR VET SAID MOST REPUTABLE BREEDERS GIVE AT LEAST A SIX MONTH. TWO WEEKS COME ON HOW MUCH FAITH DO THEY HAVE IN THEIR DOGS.
