The barn does rescue horses and if your lucky enough to be in the 'clique' then it might be for you. As for most of the 5 star reviews on here, it's most likely the barn itself writing them. The instructors aren't the greatest or safest. The horses are not the greatest or safest. A lot of the volunteers get a big head and boss around. It could be better but it could be worse. Some of the stuff they do is admirable but I think the best way to sum it up is; The people that run the place and the horses in it aren't meant for lessons. Their just not.

I was a student at BSRA for a few years. I loved the riding lessons and taking care of the horses but the behavior of the staff was poor. They were not professional.

We think the premise of the stables is very admirable as a "safe haven" for unwanted and abused horses. However, our child almost drowned due to the negligence and instigation of a staff member (10-12 year old boy). Even though our child pleaded to the staff member (boy) that she didn't know how to swim the staff member drugged her to the deep water of the creek and flipped her tube over. Other teenage staff witness and confirmed the event. My daughter went under two times before anyone helped her. There was NO adult supervision or anyone certified as a life guard. After my daughter told me of the event we asked that the boy be released from his duties. AJ the barn manager, stated that the boy/staff member was no longer welcome to volunteer at the stables and would be notified the following day. He came everyday for the remaining of the week. He would arrive after the start of the camp and would leave before the parents picked up the children. I believe she had no intention of letting go of this boy and lie to us. We allowed her to finish that week with the understanding that she was not allowed in the creek. She will never go back. Needless to say, even though the animals are really sweet and well taken care of I am still concerned about the well being of the campers.

I have been riding with Blue Skies for almost two years now, and feel like I'm part of a family. I always wanted riding lessons when I was a child, but unfortunately never got the chance. I was nervous about taking on such a hobby as an adult, but all the instructors at BSRA have been extremely patient , supportive, and encouraging. I have to say that I am surprised at some of the reviews on here. Never once have I felt like I was in danger at BSRA. I have never felt that I pushed to do something I could not handle, or put on a horse that was too hot for me. The horses are all well cared for and very much loved. The owner, the instructors and the volunteers are always willing to help you, no matter what you ask (or how dumb you think your question is!) Recently, I had the opportunity to ride at some other facilities within the Atlanta area, and each time the instructor remarked on how wonderful my equitation was. I owe that to Blue Skies! I look forward to many more years of riding with the BSRA, and would strongly encourage anyone looking for lessons to give them a try!

Poor service, not professional and will not go back to this stable located in Emerson Georgia. There are other stables around the corner that are wonderful that have a great indoor. Check it out.

Interesting enough this stable is not a riding academy. We were not impressed with the sloppy turn out, bad mouthing of other trainers, instructors, other barns and etc.

BSRA consistently provides the best horseback riding instruction in metro Atlanta at the best value! My daughter and I ride hunter-jumper, and we absolutely love the quality instructors and top-notch staff as if they were family. As a non-profit organization, Blue Skies also gives my daughter and I opportunities to volunteer at the barn and to help our community by doing something we love - caring for and sharing our love of horse with others. We are a charter BSRA family, riding with them from their 2008 inception. The property and barn in Emerson are AWESOME. Come visit. It's worth it.

I have been with Blue Skies for as long as I can remember. I absolutely love it! I have been to other barns, and nothing compares to Blue Skies! The other barns did not go out of their way to make me feel welcome or at home. BSRA most certainly did this. I love all of there horses. And for those of you who are saying that their horses are in "bad condition", you have to remember that most of their horses are OTTB and are still in need of re-training. Otherwise, BSRA has been the best barn I could ever have learned at. They have taught me so much about horsemanship, and how to be a better horsewoman.
I absolutely love this barn and everyone in it! Obviously the people who are saying such rude and untrue things about our barn have never been to Blue Skies or actually tried to talk with someone with Blue Skies. Everyone who comes to Blue Skies is warmly welcomed and everyone is family! The instructors are incredible and provide great instruction but don't force their riders to progress too quickly like alot of other barns do. This barn is perfect to learn how to ride and progress in your riding and horsemanship skills because Blue Skies not only teaches their riders how to properly ride, but how to care for horses and manage a barn! Blue Skies is amazing and I'll never leave this barn!!
I've ridden at many barns and none of them compare to Blue Skies! Everyone is so kind and welcoming and everyone is family. The instructors are fantastic and know their stuff! There are horses for beginners through advanced riders and all are fun, safe, and have great personalities! I wouldn't wanna be at any other barn besides Blue Skies!! I absolutely love it at Blue Skies!!
Well I see another anonymous poster has bad things to say about BSRA. As we have stated before, if you have a problem, then come and talk to the owners. We will be more than happy to address any concerns or comments you might have. Any one interested in riding lessons at any barn should visit in person and make an informed decision based on their own impressions, not the continued negative comments of one-time posters. We welcome everyone!

We can not say all the bad behavior that we saw!!! Please for all the parents that do not understand safety or care for the animals..please know that what we saw at the pair race was shameful and sad. We could not believe how many students were bucked off and the screaming of their instructor ...so horrible. The staff at the event had to stay on their radios and the other riders were afraid of their rudeness when they trekked to help...is this a way to run a business or "riding academy". Really...bad.

I have been with Blue Skies every since the beginning and this barn has become my home away from home! I come out as much as I can and I always can't wait to go to the barn every week! Everyone is so nice and friendly and immediately welcomed into the Blue Skies family. Blue Skies has not only taught me how to ride and work with horses, but I have learned many important life lessons there. They have horses for each level of rider and most of the horses are rescues. I plan to continue riding and volunteering at Blue Skies for years and I couldn't have found a better barn to ride at! Every part about this barn is just perfect!

I have been with BSRA when they were still a Girl Scout Barn and they are wonderful! I go every weekend and it is my second home. I am never completely happy unless I am at the barn, they are my family. Sami may be young but she is a great instructor and knows what she is talking about. I have been to other barns and NO barn is anything like ours. No our horses aren't perfect but they are pretty close! We rescue our horses to give them another chance at life! I understand were other people are coming from but they are wrong. BSRA is the BEST!

We have been at Blue Skies Riding Academy for a few years now and we have always been more than pleased with this barn. The instructors are kind and know their job well and help my daughter become the best rider she can be. The new facility is beautiful with a large indoor arena and two outdoor arenas and all the horses are very sweet and safe. We plan to be with Blue Skies for many more years to come and I look forward to watching my daughter's skills continue to grow!
