Fantastic bar. No TVs. Outstanding, interesting beer list. Watch out for the alcohol content. Sitting at the bar is a joy. If you have enough people, sit at one of the front booths. Don't miss the upstairs bar.

The Brick Store on the Decatur Square is exactly what a proper beer bar should be: fresh beers properly poured by a friendly group of barmen (and women too!). Food menu is inexpensive and limited, and the Brunswick stew is consistently good. But it's all about the beer here anyway. Closest you will come to mass-market bilge water here is Sweetwater 420, which I really like. But why would you order it when there's St. Bernardus Abt 12 on tap upstairs in its own glass? Cool old-world atmosphere, no TVs, loud music, tacky advertising, or kitsch. A great place to meet friends or for a date.

My husband and I are complete beer snobs and when we go out for drinks, we always end up at the Brick Store. When he was in Germany he loved this beer called Aventinus and wasn't able to find it until he asked about it at the Brick Store. I only put 4 stars because sometimes the servers are slow/moody and the beer is much more expensive than it would be in a package store (like with all bars, though). If you have a refined palate in terms of beer, definitely check out the Brick Store- you won't be disappointed, although you might be overwhelmed by their HUGE selection! Oh- and the food is really good too, I hear good things about the chicken melt and I always get the volcano or the burger. Yummmmmm!

I love the Brick Store Pub, although their high octane beers can make for a short evening. The food is good and always consistent. My only complaint is that it's always packed and hard to get in. I recommend the hummus and brunswick stew.

If you love beer... better yet, if you love real beer (i.e. not bud product) and you want a genuine pub-like feel for your beer-drinking establishment then make the trip (even if you do not live in/near Decatur) to The Brick Store. Ask the servers for recommendations (particularly on the Belgian beers) and enjoy. Expect long (but very worth-it) waits on the weekends. I would seriously consider moving closer to Decatur just to be closer to this place - I love it.

The fish and chips are great. I like them so much its hard to order anything else. Its going to be a little busy at lunch time, but if you can hit it at the right time, its a nice lunch. Service is always frendly.

I love this place. Huge beer selection, PLUS cider on tap. :) Big points right there. The fact that the food is reasonable, the service is friendly, and the prices are great, are all icing on the cake. Pub-style, laid-back feel.

You have to make a stop into the Brickstore. Incredible beer listing. Tons of high-gravity imports. The giant pretzels with grain mustard are awesome too. Lots of room... but it fills up quickly. The upstairs bar is nice. Kinda has a "pirate ship" vibe to it.
