I had a 1:00 appointment--I was introduced to my consultant who said she may have to find someone else to help me. No one came to help me at all, so I left after 35 minutes. Glad I took time off work. Deeply disappointed as this was going to be my first time trying on bridal gowns.

Bridals by Lori was the first (of 11) bridal shops I visited after I got engaged. I had a good experience there. Here's what you need to know about this shop: (1) make an appointment. If you don't have an appointment you can browse the gowns but you can't try on anything. (2) go during the week between 10am and 3pm if at all possible, you'll be less rushed and you'll get more personal attention. (3) the dresses are lovely, but they aren't cheap. You'll be hard pressed to find a gown less than $1,000. If you just want to try on lovely dresses than be vague about your budget. They'll immediately ask you what you want to spend, so be prepared. (4) Dress up a little for your appointment, don't come in jeans. You'll get better service. (5) There's a long runway in the middle of the store with lots of mirrors. Loved it!

I purchased my dress from Bridals by Lori and enjoyed the shopping experience. The sales rep was pleasant and the dress selection was fabulous. That said, I should have just taken my dress to another place for the alterations. The woman assigned to my dress made me nearly lose my mind. I had to go in for SEVEN fittings, and each time, the areas we talked about fixing had either been done incorrectly or not at all. The icing on the cake was when I was trying to bustle my dress just before the reception and discovered she had sewn in the bustle loop incorrectly. My coordinator had to pin it up with safety pins!!! When I called Bridals by Lori to complain about this after the wedding, the response was "Oh, you must be mistaken... we NEVER let a dress leave the store without TRIPLE checking the bustle", and it was only after persistent begging that they finally offered me a small refund. After spending hundreds of dollars on their useless alterations, I got a whopping $35 back for all my tears and frustration. THANKS.

I was a little nervous about visiting Bridals by Lori after reading some of these reviews. However, the day after Christmas, I braved the masses and made my way to Sandy Spring Circle for my first "session" at the salon. I was paired with Cindy and wasn't quite sure what to expect. I was alone and apprehensive about what type of reception I would receive since everyone else there was with a group of people. I explained to Cindy exactly what I had in mind and my vision for the day and she was quite helpful! She helped me with veil suggestions, adding a "special touch," accessorizing, and my actual vision for the day. When I found THE dress, I shared a story with her about how I told my future mother-in-law that I would NOT cry when I found THE DRESS! Then I shared with her why I was alone. My mother has been very, very ill for the last 2 years and couldn't make the trip. I told her how my holidays had been bittersweet not having my family there and that I was concerned that my mother may not be will before my November wedding. Then she hugged me and shed a tear with me. Flori (another consultant) helped us with a belt/sash for that added "pop" and couldn't have been more helpful! I still have to go through alterations and such but I have such a wonderful feeling about this place so far...
